As far as I know this year a new first class racetrack will be opening near Medellin, I'm planning to go there again soon. Colombians are crazy about motorsports in general... trucking, motorcycles, off-roading, you name it. Too bad their government doesn't give much support.

I once had a job picking up giant slabs of plastics and then packaging and shipping all the very precise bits that the machinists made. One day I was out getting lunch for the crew in the 70's step side GMC truck with a ridiculous motor and one ton suspension. The carbs were unhappy and it didn't want to idle well at the time. On the way home, as a light went red, I went to shift the truck into neutral so I could blip the throttle and keep it alive at the light. But... I was just a bit too generous with my throw of the shift lever and went straight to reverse at about 35 mph while blipping the throttle. Picture perfect reverse burnout from 35 to 0. So much smoke. No applause. Lunch on the floor and I had to go back.
