    • Yes we have found that the edges will appeal if the area is not cleaned very very well with 99% rubbing alcohol the other reason it will happen is that there was not enough heat to get the edges to adhere when doing this we tend to have our focus on heating the very center and forget about the outer edges hope this helps my friend thanks Mike

  • I saw your note that you don't get notifications on postings from old shows. The car wash put some bad scratches in my windshield on Saturday. I watched your video (who else would I turn to?) on using pumice and rubbing compound to remove scratches. I don't have a rotary DeWalt, only a DA polisher. I can get all the supplies you listed, but can I get it to work with my DA? It's expensive to buy a rotary just for my windshield. Keep em coming my friend. Merry Christmas.

    • @SweetProjectCars thank you for replying. Those videos give me some ideas. The car I am working on is a 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado with a vinyl top. Most of the damage is similar to the seat repair damage I watched in your videos. No vinyl repair guy around here will touch it. Replacement of the top, by a professional, is quoted at a minimum of $1500.00...I think trying a repair is worth the try. All the damage is centered on top in an appropriate 3 Sq foot area. I think if I vinyl repair the damaged area and dye the entire top, it will turn out OK. Worth a shot, anyway. I live in central Illinois, wish your shop was closer, lol. BTW, I really enjoy your videos.

  • I'm going to try to match Fiat 500e white interior, which is almost cream color. I think I'll follow the tan instructions but use a toothpick for the brown and yellow.

  • @Sweet Project Cars, I have a request for that upcoming video on fixing broken dashboards. I have an old 05 caravan that is suffering from shrinkage!.....lol. I know where your mind went on that one, don't lie!....lol. But in all seriousness, Due to the constant sun beating our dashboards take through the windshields of our cars, the dashboard around the top of my air vents in the center of the dash(3 air vents) has shrank and pulled away from the vents. The pleather, foam, all of it has shrunk and pulled upwards from the vent housing so it "looks" like it has the wrong dash parts installed but it doesn't. I wish I could post a pic so you can see exactly what I'm talking about but hopefully you know exactly what I'm dealing with. Is there a way to fix this? Can you find a dash like this and add a fix for it to your upcoming vid? Thanks bunches if you can! And as always, you guys rock!

  • Hello. How can I remove a poorly applied vinyl patch that was done using the 3M kit?

    @dougbrennan8185@dougbrennan8185 Жыл бұрын
    • You are probably going to have to use some heat, we suggest using this amzn.to/2I8XFRh You have to be very careful and slow warming it up the just use these amzn.to/3XEE8vC to pull the patch off. Remember, slowly warm it up and remove. If you are not comfortable doing this, you need to take it to a detail shop. Hope this helps Doug, thanks for watching. mad Mike the hammer SPC

  • I just have one question; My vinyl has a slit about the same size as this one and is black, but there’s no texture it’s just smooth. How do I finish it off? Could I just dull the glue with my finger and lightly use a black sharpie to fill it in? Also on larger jobs, is that regular spray paint that they are spraying the seats with?

    @richardshirk1124@richardshirk11244 жыл бұрын
    • richard your suggested method will work great and for larger job we use this amzn.to/31CXEMs or this amzn.to/2XgiORk

    • Sweet Project Cars thanks for the list of 3 videos to re-watch. I think this kit is good to use as a substitute to spray paint because color matching with codes can vary a lot through fading and wear. Your videos use so little color to mix into the silicone that it almost seems wasteful to buy a whole can when I can mix up a color and make some repairs at the same time . Also awesome is the container to keep extra paint handy. A big thank you!
