  • for those interested, the scream is called the "howie scream" and is a distant younger nephew of the classic "Wilhelm scream" (which is much older). Named after Howie Long and attributed to his perfomance in 1996's Broken Arrow, but was actually debuted in the 1980 "the ninth configuration"

  • Dude, you brought back stuff I hadn't thought about in *decades.* I'm in my mid-30's, so I actually saw the first 2 Beethoven movies when they were in theaters (I would've been 7 or 8 at the time I think.) I didn't remember a lot from the first one, but I did remember 'the dog's been destroyed' line when you played it, and the villain wanting to shoot the dog for reasons that weren't even that clear to me as a kid. 'He's an evil guy who wears glasses, ergo he wants to shoot the dog', seemed to be all the logic that went behind it. For some reason I remembered the second movie a lot better. I remembered the scene of the creepy dude locking the girl in the room (from the inside, no less?) and how the dog collapses the front of the lakehouse and a bunch of people fall into the water. What I *didn't* remember was that a group of teenagers pouring beer on the dog was the catalyst for the whole ridiculous sequence, or that they played that amazing stock scream during that dudes fall. LOL. Laughed my ass off when you played it just now. Anyway, thanks for bringing back these absurd memories and giving me the chance to laugh at them nearly 30 years later, because I sure as hell wasn't gonna look them up on my own. On a sidenote: I always think it's hilarious how movies basically portrayed teenagers as absolute sadistic psychopaths in the 80's and 90's. 'Hur hur, we're gonna pour beer on the dog because fuck him, hur hur.' I actually remember being somewhat afraid of teenagers as a young child because of the image movies had burned into my head. Kids movies were some crazy shit back then.

It's like this half-hearted attempt to look like you're trying to go "faster" for the person waiting for you, but, as you said, it's barely (if at all) faster than a regular walk! It kills me every time I see it! 🤣

    @jovalleau@jovalleau Жыл бұрын
    • It’s really a social necessity. If someone holds the door for you, but you’re still a ways away from the door, it would seem rude to keep walking at the same pace, but if you took off and actually ran toward them you would look like a lunatic. Even jogging toward them would be too weird.

  • I think yours is my favourite channel on KZhead, Joel. The humour is so relatable to me. And despite said humour and the sarcasm and many layers they tend to have, your videos are somehow so sincere and heartwarming. Love you. Keep doing what you're doing.

  • You have been my favourite KZhead for like a year now so it's always a treat to see a new upload especially when I spent the whole morning vomiting and needed something to cheer me up. Thank you for existing bro

  • It always struck me how strange it was that they created such a beautiful love theme ('The Day I Fall In Love' by Dolly Parton and James Ingram) for such a sketchy "romance".

  • Very unusual that there was not an inclusion of the full hour and thirty five minute-long 2001 smash hit “Osmosis Jones” in this. Whatever the case, very informative and fun video, Joel!

  • Having never seen any of the Beethoven movies, I have no frame of reference to know whether or not you're making up the whole 'testing a bullet on a dog's head' thing and now I'm horrified and confused and very curious 😮 That guy screaming sounds exactly like a tie fighter from Star wars
