Between 80 and 90 km/h you can hear the transmission switching in the second gear. By the eay it is very very impressive. Never seen such an amazing longitudianal dynamic performance on a road car.
I was in passenger seat of taycan 4s last week and it was crazy. I can't imagine this one. That kind of instant power is too much for my health :)

Sound is lame as fuck, you have to be an EV fanboy to think this sounds as good as any Ferrari or lambo or maserati Performance is great but sound is a hurdle for sure for serious sports car buyers (eg me). I'd much rather keep my current car or get something like a used lambo Gallardo (even tho it's slower)

I love my tesla but this is truly awesome. The interior styling, tight handling, and that incredible noise is just wow
Trust me, if you have a P100D, don't even consider this. I just spent the better part of four hours with one, and I came away incredibly disappointed. The Tesla is a nice daily, but not a performance car, neither is this despite Porsches claims. You feel every single one of those 2400 kg when the car bounces along. And if you value a good infotainment system, this one will make you kill yourself. And honestly, the interiror matials in the Tesla are not the best, but the car I had, had the upgraded Club leather. It felt like cheap plastic, and the hardness of the front seats were beyond belief. For a first attempt at EV, it's not bad, but it feels like an electrified ICE car for all the wrong reasons.
@BTICronox Have you driven a Taycan Turbo S? It is as fast as the M5 because it catches up on the straights. And compared to a good fast car, it is not very fast. I had my GT4 as a chase vehicle in front of me at one point, and in the twists I was not even close to keeping up. It catches up fast once you point it straight, but it is for all intended purposes a disconnected heavy car when driven in a spirited fashion. It has a very significant "double bounce" which is usually something you only feel in very heavy cars. Trust me, it feels very heavy. I actually made it bottom out and it slammed the ground HARD when going over railroad crossing at about 90 kph. I have done that in many cars and never had that happen. Sure the limit at the crossing is 60, but still. It hit hard enough for my passenger to get a bruise on his wrist from the arm rest on the door he was resting his right arm on. It is a seriously heavy car and it feels it. I suspect that many of these who review are afraid that if they say anything negative, they will get blackballed from testing. At twice the price of a P100D, it is not even close to being worth it - and don't get me started on the interior material feel and the rather annoying infotainment system.
@BTICronox You obviously have it all figured out, and clearly nobody can tell you anything. But just so you know, I own a 991.1 GT3RS and I promise you that this is nothing like it when it comes to actual cornering abilites. You need to understand that while a GT3RS might be a few seconds faster, which by the way is a lot, you also need to take into account how much slower the GT3RS is on the straight. Imagine a GT3RS with the same power. Unless you go and drive it, you have no bearing on any of this, and all you have is speculation based on second hand knowledge.

So, its no screaming V12, but I really dont mind the way this sounds at all! And the performance is just crazy!
Battery performance is just crazy. Cost a lot, take forever to charge, don't store near as much energy in the same space, weigh a lot, diminish life over time, limited mineral resources for manufacturing, and electricity is sourced mostly from petrol/coal. Just crazy.
@@lifted_above On the other hand you dont have to service an EV nearly as much. Running costs are MUCH lower. And in my country we have a LOT of wind energy. Also solar power. And the emissions of the actual EV itself is still 0 grams of carbon so that is always good.

But a Model S Plaid at 0-100 kph (0-60mph) in 1.9 seconds or the new Roadster which comes BASE STOCK at 0-100kph in 1.9 or with the spacex package hots 0-100kph in only ONE POINT ONE SECOND (1.1 Second lol. Not a typo) The roadster shots on this and you know it. It's the fastest production vehicle in existence as far as I am aware at the moment. I'm not a Tesla fanboy, whe. Given the option to wait a year for the initial 2019 roadster I bought a 2013 Lamborghini Aventador with 1000 miles on it used and custom exhaust (0-60mph in 2.7 topped at 225mph) but I thoroughly regretted my decision when the Roadster topped it in every way except the beauty of Italian combustion engine art/craftsmanship amd for shy of ~$200,000 USD vs $319,000 I paid for the Lamborghini. Could've bought the Roadster AND a Porsche 911 for that price, best of both worlds electric and combustion haha.

@@runninlikehell No. The turbo is listed as such, because it does, in fact have a turbo. Which is a component of the engine - that's why it's denoted as such. It's not some random word you throw out there - it's part of the car. To call this one a Turbo, in my opinion, is wrong. Just call it what it is - an electric car(I'm not a fan of electrics, but that's what it is). Calling it a turbo is misleading - there is the inference that it's actually a turbo and its not. While it might not mean anything to some people- like you - to me, a turbo means something.(perhaps I want to modify my car, and I can do that with a turbo version). But whatever, carry on.

@@an0nim11 That wouldn't be relevant really. Batteries are not that linear. If you take an electric car to the track (not to do), it will decrease fast to a point and if you let it rest for a bit, the chemical balance in the batteries will come back, you start the car some hours after that and you suddenly have more battery (unless the computer corrects it not to look stupid). I was asking for battery level because power decrease by a lot when charge is low and 100% is still better than 80% on performance.

I don't think they will be able to publish. Like Brooks from DragTimes who collected 4 consecutive 1/4mi Taycan runs getting 10.5s with a unprepared track, he said he expects that the car will get 10.4 or maybe high 10.3s. Also he said he would be having a comparison with a Tesla Raven coming soon. That was over a month ago now. Folks speculate in the community comments that Tesla has comparison restrictions.
It won't. It will be neck and neck. I mean either car will be within a few tenths of each other and way faster than any other cars their size in a drag race.

@Zayd Mohammad Plaid has 3 motor setup. However keep in mind that Audi is the first company to roll out 3 motor setup with their e-tron S. So if Tesla has Plaid setup, Porsche probably already have 3 motor setup and probably more gearing (3 speed gearbox is possible) on development too which potentially destroy Plaid. Remember, claimed 7:23 Nurburgring time with speculated Plaid is not impressive with such claimed power, Porsche can make it under 7 minutes if they want
