Bro you dropped this 👑
Haha thanks I try my best to please
Any chance you can show CPU power draw in the future?
Cant wait for the g14 review man
Should be here relatively soon. Best Buy usually ships quick
Display looking great
Consistent fps with no screen tearing is more important than high fps jumping around. I played a game that was optimized for 60fps but had option to uncap. When i capped refresh rate (and game fps) to 60 it was plenty smooth. As a kid, lagging was a thing, so for me having no lag is always fantastic
Hy, nice video, about that i9 i saw u were talking here about overheat and not using all cores i mean the processor it is not use to his full capacity? But if i want to use it for 3d design and rendering, that i9 together with 4070 should be working fine ?
Sure, throttling isn’t a major issue, you just lose some raw speed. But it won’t hurt the computer assuming you have adequate airflow
Hey Beau! As the i9 14900HX throttles, would you recommend the i7 14700HX version instead?
What is your thoughts on regards to fan sound? Thinner laptops usually have a higher pitch noise from the fans, wheezing or whistling. The previous thinner legion laptops had that problem. It was like a dog whistle for humans, it was tinnitus inducing madness. How is the fan? Is it a whoosh sound or a high pitch? And you hear any coil whine? From moving the mouse e.g.?
Or how close is the fan sound from your video to your own experience? Did your microphone pick up an close representation to how it sounds irl?
Lenovo has improved fan acoustics so they aren’t annoying. I know the sound you keen. Just a whoosh now. Personally I usually play in balanced which has little fan noise, but even in performance it’s not too bad
@@TechGuyBeau that is amazing. Really appreciate your videos. Really down to earth and shows how it actually works rather than just specs. thanks man
Great review! But now I'm stuck choosing between this and the next gen laptops😂. I guess I'll have to wait till December for the leaks to emerge XD
If you're talking about ARM chips, rumours are june july. If you want just raw power and don't care much about battery and thickness, x86 is still your best bet
@@fuzailmalik9280 that and 50 series GPUs too
Bro can you please test CS 2 as well maybe in a shorts video?
Wow if the display looks that good on a compressed yt video, can’t imagine how it looks irl 🎉
It’s gorgeous for sure.
Have you done any general benchmarks on the machine like cinebench or time spy?
Yes I have a review video
Eagerly waiting for the Pro 5i review. I'm locked in with i9 for the CPU. I'm using the laptop for creative work so I'm not sure if it's worth getting an RTX 4070 over the RTX 4060.
I just finished recording a couple hours ago. Now onto editing. Long story short the cooling is pretty good. What’s the difference in price between 4060 and 70?
@@TechGuyBeau about 10% where I live.
@@TechGuyBeau woah.. so you got 5i pro i9?
Hi Beau, you dont need to make a video maybe a community post, but will you try this on Ghost of Tsushima when it comes out in a couple of weeks? will be interesting to see I think, thanks.
Unfortunately I had to send it back (review unit) but I can run the game on whatever legion I have on hand and report back. Most of the time I can extrapolate results only head between laptop models assuming I am comfortable with them
@@TechGuyBeau fair enough, thanks
Nice Video! Which one is better for gaming ? 2024 Lenovo Legion 7i vs Lenovo Yoga 9i Pro - 2024 ?
And is it possible to upgrade the ssd to 2 tb and the ram to 64 gb?
Please do help me answer this brother, if I buy this, should I play while I have the power plugged in? I have a lenovo legion 5i before and because I play with it, I always have the power plugged in and on lenovo vantage, I have the set up a mode where the battery will stay at 55% max while plugged in so it conserve it's durability of some sort. Going back to my question, will playing it while plugged in damage my battery again? The life span of my battery (lenovo legion 5i) is only now at about 45 mins lifespan without gaming (at most) because of what I was doing over 3 years. Please advise, any advise from your viewers will help too. Thank you all!
Usb c power delivery - does it work? is it standard 140w or again lenovo magic 140 or standard 100w? (it is not clear on lenovo site). I'm on strict, self imposed "only usb c chargers when traveling" policy :)
You will get 100 W normally, however if you use the Lenovo proprietary USB-C you can get 140. 140 W is enough for silent mode gaming, however if you want to use balanced mode gaming you will want to use the proprietary charger, or just the one that comes with a laptop
@@TechGuyBeau Thanks for answer - yes, just confirmed "Maximum power input: 20 V, 7 A" so it is not in standard PD 3.1 (28V 5A)
Please add CPU wattage to the afterburner overlay. Want to see the difference between power consumption of Intel and AMD CPUs.
Agree, the wattage is so useful!
Between the Slim 7i with 13th gen i7 13700H 4060, and yoga 9i i9 4050 which one do you like more? The price is the same in my region. I like the miniled screen, but not a fan of the 3 hour battery 😅😅.
Bruhh, legion 7i being a gaming laptop, can easily last 7 hours in normal tasks
Next please review the 16P Gen 5!
Thinkbook? I’ve already bought it. Just waiting on its arrival
Hi Beau this white version is not yet in India. Will there be any issues related to services of someone bua if from outside of them country.
possibly could impact warranty. Service from a 3rd party paid should be fine.
Can this laptop be dropped into a 1080p setting when gaming? Dont get me wrong, I love the fact that this has a 1600p screen but would also like to be able to get faster framerates when gaming.
Just use dlss
@TechGuyBeau otherwise, I was also curious about how much storage can be easily installed. I've heard it can only have up to 2 TB but I'm sure you can have more than just that much.
you can add at minimum 8 (4tb per slot, possibly 8).
@@TechGuyBeau great to know 👍🏼 Will definitely be following you as a new sub 👍🏼👍🏼
have you noticed your 14900HX popping in and out of thermal throttle?
yes it will throttle
What was the quietest gaming laptop you tested?
These are all very quiet ok quiet mode. The AMD slim 7 and slim 5 OLED on quiet mode were the quietest to date
About how loud is it in balanced? Comparable to other legions?
its like fshhhhhhhhhh, compared to zbrrrrrrrrrr
@@tranceeris ah thank you. This certainly helps my purchasing decision
@@hermeslol4591 got your back bra`

Review loq r7 8845hs + rtx 4060
I already bought it. It’s coming sometime next week
@@TechGuyBeau do check the battery draining issue when in very heavy load , as some of the KZheadr found that issue with the intel varient I hope this doesn't happen to AMD varient
I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I'm looking to buy either this or the pro 5i. The main difference is that in my budget the 7i comes with the 4060 and the pro 5i comes with the 4070. My question is whether the 4060 is capable enough for gaming at 1600p (or for that 3.2k display if I were to opt for that). Otherwise I'd go for the Pro 5i with the RTX 4070. Graphics power and maybe better cooling is the only positives for the Pro 5i over the 7i for me.
15-20% faster with the 4070
4060 is ok for 1600p but you need to keep down the graphics settings. For 3.2K even a 4070 could struggle, 8GB VRAM is just not enough for high settings.
I’m. A big fan of the 3.2k screen but you will be rocking dlss normally. That’s what I do, but be aware you will need it
@@TechGuyBeau Okay, thank you!
Hi there, I need to know one thing that is it hot on the surface of laptop while playing games?
Only at the very back behind the keyboard. The rest is cool
I want this laptop but with the 50 series GPU
50 series isnt even out 💀
Knowing this makes me feel much more relieved. Thank you.
Did you notice the i9 is thermal throttling, the rtx 4070 goes often down to 40w. The game isnt the problem, its the i9 14900HX which is just bad. Cyberpunk, the gpu wattage works, because the i9 wont overheat, use more cores, low frequency = lower watt, thermal. It seems thats a issue how the i9 clocks itself, its different from game to game, result in thermal throttling nonestop.
its a 4060
@@harpxeal3869 its written a 4070 on top left. kzhead.info/sun/ltuSeMmJeoyqY3A/bejne.html
@@harpxeal3869 its a 4070 shown while testing starfield
4070. The i9 does throttle yes, I recommend getting the i7 variant
What would you recommend to do to improve the situation? I'm not super familiar with this stuff
What GPU does it have?
The one that renders images on the screen
@@tranceeris were you always a mo₹on or today is a special occasion?
4070, can be seen in the Witcher's overlay
@@mind1296 okay thanks. But it would have been nice if the uploader had mentioned the specs in the description. That's kind of basic
If I needed a gaming laptop, I'd get this, even if I didn't have the money right now I would save up to get this thing. Damn. Also, you saw the new Snapdragon X Elite leaks? A Lenovo (Yoga) Slim 14.5 with that chip seems to have leaked for may!
Yeah I’ve seen some details. It’s a fascinating concept
Interesting how some hype just gets so many people buying stuff, even though they only show the benchmarks and examples where the ARM chips do better. Have you noticed how ARM compares to X64 in complex tasks? It's a "Complex Instruction Set Computing" chip for a reason. However if you require something more power efficient to browse facebook, then by all means, use ARM.
please play nba 2k20 😢
