  • I can personally attest that short jabs work. I was knocked out of a canoe as a kid by a shark that took an interest. I don't know what shark it was, but my kayak was 6 foot long, and it was a lot bigger than that. First I tried leaving, it wasnt having any of it, followed me and kept making passes underneath smacking the canoe harder each time. Then it tipped me out of the canoe, it tried to take an exploring bite, I think. I freaked out, and used the hard paddle plastic and the metal pole to jab at it to keep it off me when it came closer. I hit it on the front, head and side of the mouth a couple times. I recalled that they like to attack from underneath or behind so I tried to keep it in sight. That was hard, because the water was deep. They just disappear into the murk even in clear water, like they're not even there. It's really creepy to know there's an animal that can kill you maybe not even 20 feet away, and you can't see it. I kept having to put my head under water to try to spot it underneath me, when it came back for another go. They don't do that thing in Jaws where you can see the fin much, or at least that one did not. Then I remembered that some sharks roll their eyes up and cover them when they attack to prevent damage, so when it made another pass I poked it in the eye, and it was suddenly gone. I was trying to hit its nose before that but it moved too much. I was I think 12 or so at the time, so unless panic helped me I dont see how I could have done severe damage. I wouldn't advise trying to hit its nose overly much unless you don't have a choice, those teeth take BIG chunks out of anything close and they are scarily fast when they snap. But it did seem to upset it when I landed a poke on its nose, like it hurt. Trust me, sharks are a lot faster than people. I'm still amazed I lived. It must not have been very hungry or something, because it did not come back. I had minimal scratches on me. In fact I took more damage from stepping on sea urchins when I got back to the dock. I had been unable to turn the canoe over again to get back in so I used it like a flotation device and kicked my way back. As for the survival questions, I got them right, which is rather funny. I've been in many weird and emergency situations and made it out. People are often more dangerous than animals, though. At least with animals you know it's down to a few basic reasons. Usually humans being in their territories, or where we shouldn't be. I learned with the shark that day, that humans are absolutely not at the top of the evolution chain without our technology. I still like sharks, but I am much more wary now. Always give a thought and respect to wild animals when you are exploring/hiking etc. On land or off it.

    @lotharsoran3604@lotharsoran36042 жыл бұрын
    • I gave you a like, somebody had too. Never been in the ocean or around the beach, only in Ohio and PA, so when it comes to sharks I'm scared of them. Survival for me is trying to stay away from venomous snakes like copperheads. But they aren't that dangerous compared to rattlesnakes, the black mamba, the brown snake, taipons and other venom like that, often copperheads will give you a bite without venom first.(Dry bite) and thier venom won't necessarily kill you, just make you sick.

I do wonder if the paralyzing neck thing would work or if the animal outgrows that reaction. That would be way better. Just grab it by the nap of its neck. • In "The Righteous Path" @ 5:41 you can almost say for sure it is some kind of Canid by the print. The owner of that print has fixed claws like a bear or canid, and cats have retractable claws that are not seen in their prints. So knowing it is most likely not a cat then next we can rule out bear. Its pretty easy to do this one too because unlike dogs and cats that have four toes visible in the top of their prints, bears have five. Info like this is always valuable in survival situations.

  • Here's a thought, every time you go out into the wilderness bring a weapon with you whether it's a handgun that's quick and easy to access or a large knife so if you are attacked by an animal and all methods of intimidation don't work you'll have a lot larger chance of surviving if you have a big knife or a gun. I never go out into the woods without at least a knife on me.

  • In reference to the escaping the Bee's part, running to the water is definitely you're best bet. If they are hovering above you then all you need to do is splash them and they'll end up dropping in to the water which is an instant kill. Bee's worst natural enemy that's a non predator is water. Unfortunately I find bee's daily dead in my pool. It appears their wings get soaked and make them too heavy to fly out essentially killing them unless I can save them with my pool net.

Love your vids and am writing a book called “Wild Survival” wi th tips on surviving wild animals!!! Thanks soooo much for the facts!!! 😃 😊 I really really really want to live in the Amazon rainforest one day, surrounded by nature, living off the land, communicating with animals in the way I do with my calico cat, Callie. How beautiful it would be, a tropical paradise, animals with me always… But maybe I’ll stay out in the country, rescuing animals who need my help. Injustice is something humans started… why should animals be part of it? Should we kick out an animal because we don’t want it to have babies because frankly we are too lazy to even SELL them?!?! No!!!

    • Not the same moose we have then. A small tree, fence post wood or iron are nothing for a mad moose. They will snap them off like tooth pick. There is many cases of moose destroying trucks and cars by charging them. When a bull moose is in rut they are and can be dangerous. So you can hid behind a fence post if you like and get killed, but I'm gonna drop it with my rifle. I'm gonna be the last one standing. Not it and I see moose often too. I have a big swamp on my property and can go out to it and see atleast 5 every trip. Especially in the winter I have no problems with moose being around. I have a problem with people trying to poach them. It is known that I have alot of moose on my property and have a big property too so its hard to keep people from doing that
