    • @@CptBumbu I first started watching the UFC during TUF 2 so I saw Rashad before he became Rashad(Him vs Mike Whitehead was a turning point in his career). However I don't blame people that started watching the UFC during TUF 10 think that Rashad was always a star in the UFC. As a guy that started at TUF 2 it was crazy seeing Rashad grow so fast and then getting in the face of a Pride legend.

  • I remember how cool Franklin was on the show and what an a-hole Hughes was. The way he did Jason Von Flue was wrong. Hughes openly said he didn't care if Von Flue lost to George in their fight. Then after Von Flue pulls the big upset, Hughes doesn't even congratulate him and is shown casually playing cards while only few feet away medics are treating Von Flue for a nasty cut he got in the fight. Dana tells Hughes the next day he needs to give up one of his guys over to Franklin's team and he says Von Flue without any hesitation. For his part, Von Flue was completely respectful the entire time, and even shook Hughes's hand and thanked him for training him immediately after being cut by Matt. Matt half-heartedly shook his hand and gave him a look like "Ok, you can leave now". I remember being so happy when GSP beat the shit of Hughes twice in a row about a year later.

    @tonyc7301@tonyc73013 жыл бұрын
    • yeah i saw that too! the way he treated his team, especially jason was fucking bogus. i mean he went to war with jorge, that fight was complete mayhem, one of the best in tuf imo (shame i cant find it anywhere now) and jason actually beats the number 1 guy of the opposite team and hughes was playing cards like "oh, wasnt expecting that, but win or loose im good ".... then they give jason to the other tream and he's like "oh its just jason"..... jason was pissed on the show too and for good reason

      @FlechFisher@FlechFisher3 жыл бұрын
    • Hughes is currently a hero for what he does now. You could look at it like this, being he has admitted to this now. "Hurt people hurt people" but I won't lie he was a giant d bag back in the day lol but he's a very good guy now.

  • @8:33 perfect example of why I am SO HAPPY they did away with challenges on TUF. Rashad went on to be a H.O.F. legend of the sport and a challenge had potential to tamper that. The era the show came out it makes a ton of sense. This is what the blueprint for this category of show was so they fell in line. Obviously with the growth of the sport, they became capable to correct course, they realized it was nonsense, and ditched it. 2005 is when I started watching UFC because of TUF and I can't believe how far the UFC has come.

I remember people draggggggging him after this, Forrest and Stephan were calling him “the turd” on their after-episode recaps. I’ll admit back then I thought he wasted a chance at a lifetime, now I’m a little older and wiser and realize no this man made the exact right decision if his heart wasn’t into this

  • 2:13 "It's too much like Jail.. I'm sick.. the cameras are too much.. It isn't the training, I don't want you to think I'm a bitch.." Seth Petruzelli on what REALLY happened. “Well the real reason Eli quit was because the 1st day of training… the hell day, we (me and him) were paired up for live takedowns and submissions. Let’s just say I never had so many slams and subs in 1- 30min session! Then later that day… cause it was 2 a day (workouts), he was paired up with Keith Jardine… Keith did the same thing to him. Eli then told us “wow, you guys were throwin’ me around like a rag doll,” then started coughing and acting like he was getting sick or something. The next thing we knew, he was leaving ‘cause of the “cameras!” lol “We all hated him after he left cause everyone knew what Keith and I did to him… he should of stayed and got beaten like a fighter.” So there we have it. He got in there with real competition during training and realized he was likely going to get beat when his fight came, so he bailed.

    @carrastealth@carrastealth3 жыл бұрын
    • I guess he’d rather leave than take a beating and look bad. Well quitting doesn’t make him look good either. I respect his decision and leaving early instead of being like a joe scarola. It’s like when a star high school athlete who was the best player on his team goes to college and he’s the worst guy on the team and realizes that he can’t make it in the big leagues
