Прочностные качества то еще под вопросом, но вот балансировать такое колесо будет мега интересно. Хотя, врятли там кто то этим будет заниматся.
О каком вообще качестве можно говорить, если лопнувшие места и трещины были не разделаны,а тупо замазаны поверху? Это я даже не говорю что технология сварки алюминия и его производных несколько другая :)

И уж тем более такие как я такой хуйни не лепят , так как от этой работы часто зависят жизни людей. И такие как я сидеть не хотят за не качественно проведённую работу. Потому такие как я её делают её качественно на совесть и в соответствии с регламентом сварочных работ , а не на отъебись как тут в видео.
@@FoxLegion1 и потому у таких как ты при менее чем в 10 раз меньших повреждениях ремонт стоит дороже новой детали. У нас всегда проблема в непонимании поставленной задачи. Тут задача - сотворить хоть что-то. У тебя пиздатый сварочник и охуевшие расценки, как будто космический аппарат в космос запускаем, куча слов типа я за свою работу гарантию дам. Только +уй ты ее дашь и сделаешь в итоге не лучше, даже если надо сделать сантиметровый шов для кронштейна какого. И виноват в случае чего всегда будет клиент, производитель, но только не ты. Потому лучше всегда все сделать самому в этой стране.
Меня смутила проточка , обычно за центр центруют что бы вывести ровно , а тут просто по ободу , хотя там может дикая восьмёрка после такого удара.
Вот поэтому я езжу на штампованных дисках. ) Но было очень интересно посмотреть на работу этих парней. 👍

I did a lot of metallurgy while I attended the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1963) and so, looking at this repair, I can imagine what I would see under the microscope if I had to take a sample of the welded area and analyze it. I must say that the young welder is to be admired in the manner he changes a carbonizing flame to heat with, into a neutral flame to weld with. The oxide layer that builds quickly on aluminum melts at a higher temperature than the aluminum, but that welder knows what he is doing, first melting the pool, keeping the flame in the area depending on the volume of material around it, then bringing in the stick feeder for a short time and let the pool fuse the lot, withdrawing the flame. Not so easy to weld aluminum with a flame where oxygen needs to be all burnt out otherwise the oxide would form so quickly.. Obviously, the structural integrity of the wheel is compromised by the heating, the welding, probably different filler material, and the unbalance that rtesulted. Unlike fashion and art and religions, which deal with emotions and so a few cosmetics and illusions will do, in engineering, what looks good is not always good, and metal fatigue is one reason why a workpiece that passed its lifetime needs to be replaced. Let us hope that aircraft in this country are not repaired and maintained in the manner we see in these videos. Faith, willingness, and craftsmanship are not always enough unless backed up by real engineering knowledge. It breaks an engineer's heart to write off the crankshaft of an ocean-going liner just because it has a small crack, and filling it with welding, where the finishing looks good, could have its consequences.
Увы, он плавит олово. Это не Алюминий. Вам наверное и в голову не могло прийти, что можно восстановить диски оловом? Да и вообще в конечном результате, после ужасной покраски, весь труд сварщика и токаря бесполезный

His welding skills are undeniable, aluminum is anything but easy to weld together! But this wheel was scrap from the start even if the cracks would have been grinded! Over here in Germany that thing would explode like an atomic bomb in a few seconds after entering the Autobahn! It's just not safe anywhere in the world going above a certain speed! But skill is undeniable worldwide! Cheers!!!

Mit Skills hat das nichts zutun, der kann halt nen Brenner und Alu in der Hand halten, mehr aber auch nicht. Wer Skills hat, macht das von Anfang bis Ende ordentlich, auch unter solch dreckigen Bedingungen kann man sorgfältig arbeiten.

with that amount of runout and imbalance, you would notice that something is VERY WRONG before you even came up to speed :D
Aluminum is just about all I've welded for the past 20 years I've never welded it with a gas torch hats off to him on a great job

Wow! Not sure I would want that on my car here in Aus, but if I was somewhere that you struggled to achieve more than ten miles an hour I would probably take the gamble. You have to wonder how hard it must be to get certain things in some countries to warrant going to these lengths to achieve a sub standard repair? Surely if the roads there are bad enough to do this sort of damage however, one would question the viability of such a repair?

It's a good effort, but the repair is not structurally sound. Two immediate improvements are obvious: 1. Cut away material from the old cracks and breaks to remove poor metal and leave a better base to build on. Otherwise, it will re-crack/break at the same point. Then, build on that. 2. Remove all excess material added during welding. Otherwise wheel can never balance. It's good that the visible/usable rim edges are repaired and trimmed, but the major repair areas also need to be lathed flat to balance better without the use of impossible amounts of balancing weights.

That wheel is never going to balance up properly or run without some sort of vibration. I admire the effort of these guys but that is just past it even the finished product.

Yes you’re right I’ve got 22” rims that keep getting cracked due to the speed humps and yes I have had them repaired. But what you have to take in is they have speed humps there also as well as pot holes. My one rim costs around £400 second hand you do the maths for people who earn that as a monthly wage

Ive use aluminum alloy rod to weld repair a lot of things and quickly found out it has no strength. If this is the same rod I've use the wheel will break in seconds if it hits bumps.

There goes all the heat treatment of the A356 alloy the wheel is made of,but the guy welding has got some real skill,aluminum is very tricky to gas weld. Even we would tig weld it when repairing aluminum wheels and always used A356 rods,forged aluminium wheels being the exception. But the guy welding is very cool,we always set up and machined repaired wheel in a 4 jaw lathe as well. I am very surprised how true this repaired wheel was,great job,very well done. That wheel is scrap and unbalance might look good but long run not good for the vehicle might rune the baring well not a good idea to fix

I think the wheel balance is going to be a mess. In My country, that kind of broken wheel is always thrown away in a junk yard. We can buy 19-inch 4 used wheels for $400 to $600.

Very impressive skills and also did a very good repair... And then gey right to the end and u cut corners and just spray it black 🤦♂️ A bit more prep before paint would have done a lot to the end result 💪 But from a scrap to that i can appreciate the workmanship💪

Grate skill, but I would never ever put that wheel on my car if I knew how it looked before paint. The inbalance of that wheel must be of the charts.
We can all make jokes about what we seen, at the end of the day these young men all have a great skill that many of us wish we had. Not to mention the amount of resources that they have. Believe me I’m a welder for 35 yrs and I’ve done many difficult things in my time. Thumbs up for these young men for the skills that they have. We can all learn from this and appreciate and not take for granted what we have in our country.👍
