I'd seriously like to buy a set of these repairs for my mother in laws car... Lol
Well depending on how fast she usually drives you may be disappointed. It's not Autobahn material though ...
All you need is a hammer, blow torch, some empty soda cans, and a stick :D
Pakistan is my true surplus place.....

As a retired welder the structural integrity of the casting left the minute the alloy was heated up to a malleable temperature. There's a reason why we don't repair rims like this in the United States. That rim running on a car going 60 mph when it hits a hard bump could literally shatter. Alloy rims damaged that much should be recycled.
There’s wheel repair places all around Texas bud ..
@@WheelBoyCustoms Of course there are wheel repair places. I have repaired mag wheels. You use a TIG welder not a torch. If you had any knowledge of how to heat aluminum and repair it and build it up we wouldn't be having this conversation, bud
@@greggminkoff6733 😭😭😤
I doubt if you could reach speeds of 60mph in that city. Not even on a donkey.
The land speed record for Indian roads is 23 MPH !!
Awesome job , this guy is an artist 🙏🏻 for everyone criticizing this work remember he is in some country with low income and not easy to find or buy a new set of wheels , they have to fix everything in any possible way ,
Indeed
I'm in a low income country but this is a no for me. I'd be better off buying a motorbike than drive a car with this.
Low income isn't an excuse to do a bad job. This is at serious risk of killing someone
its no use explaining it to them they cant grasp the fact that not everyone can buy something new if they break it also the people talking about it being dangerous the rim is an alloy rim being fixed with alloy also rims are very easy to balance is it gonna be as safe as a new one definitely not but when u dont have options u do the best u can with wat u have
@@woody_fromda6ix206 you’re absolutely right 👍 you get the point 👍 people posting negative is because they live in England or USA , and they don’t fix anything , they have the money and the places to buy a new set of wheels
Man, this wheel is gonna break within a month or two. The silver spraypaint at the end? Classic
lol
Garbage
Tryfirst then you,ll know...
Отличный диск , аргонщики не нужны , диск не развалится у них кровная месть лучше всякой гарантии
I love how he is sanding the entire wheel on the ruff concrete as he’s beating the shit out of it.
Dealership level repair. Legendary !!
Ya know, I had my doubts. But I agree with the poster below. My mother in law would love a set of these repaired wheels. They look great 👍 😂 And as a weekend metallurgy expert….I’m convinced that the repair will last a good long time sitting motionless….😎
Impressive! I especially like the way he indicated (centered) that wheel in lathe chuck by eye.
Let's not bring any one to trouble with this wonderful repair.
I'd love to see them balance this rim. Which is also probably done by eye.
Calibrated eye.
Krishnan Laxman butchers at best
I was impressed with his aluminum welding , but that's it.
Скоро у его товарищей выйдет видео, как вытягивают кузов)) помощь по братски! 😂😂😂
That a safety hazzard..lucky most my country have ban this type of repair
Потом, чтобы отбалансировать этот диск на него надо будет повесить не грузик, а якорь от танкера)))
там все резиной компенсируеться которая также делаеться
Там дорог нет чтобы выявить этот брак )
отбалансировать не требуется
Just blows me away all the work they do in open toed shoes. Awesome craftsmanship
Bradley Kunshier. But a lethal and highly dangerous repair. Are they sold as refurbished wheels ? if so seriously misleading and criminal.
The aluminium welding technique is interesting and clever. Form the missing part with the steel table and then use the stainless rod to refine the shape of the added metal. That man has good eyes to be able to tell when the metal is melted, but be quick enough to remove the flame before it goes fully liquid and runs away. I used to repair alloy wheels for rally cars with a MIG. I shudder to think about some of the wheels I made from two mangled wrecks cut and welded. Never had one of my repairs fail though and some came back freshly mangled after a puncture on a stage, to be rebuild again... I wouldn't do it these days... Too many lawyers
interesting experience you've had.
Considering the fact the the guy is using a zinc alloy to repair the wheel he is only soldering, a long way from welding. The repair, though done with considerable skill, is nonetheless a weak and dangerous repair.
Good job if it's just body work. It's pretty scary actually, after a fresh coat of paint, few buyer can tell the difference. I will never buy any used / repaired wheels again.
his distraction on what's going on outside while operating the lathe could someday cost him a hand, arm or his life!
And what about the (emergency) break on his lathe lol.
@@MrYukon2010 and i am sure it works.......
Years ago my Dad bought a used set of aluminum "alloy" wheels for his car. Then one day we had a flat, good thing near a tire place. After removing the lug nuts the wheel would not come off. After some simple persuasion it finally popped off BUT the center of the wheel was still stuck to the hub, the techs never saw anything like that. Dad was pissed, could have separated at highway speeds. Next day got a set of regular steel wheels and replaced those rolling death traps!
It had nothing to do with the wheels being aluminum.
@@davidparker9676 it deinitely has. Have seen many such cases all the time. They have to chisel out the wheel
@@1danny2k Any wheel can get corroded to the hub, steel, magnesium, aluminum. Like I said, it has nothing to do with the wheels being aluminum. The morons that broke your dad's wheel are responsible for not knowing how to remove wheels. The moron that installed the wheels also installed them wrong. Are you one of those morons that sue McDonalds because they spilled coffee on their lap? Yes, it was the coffee's fault, and McDonalds' fault..... everyone else is to blame.
This is what they’re doing in third world countries anything can be done.. it’s only takes a a skill and patience..respect for your hardworking😊
Dont worry Ronnie if you had born there, you would have topped their skills in torn singlet and worn out rubber thongs! Earning less than a U$ to feed. Hunger and necessity brings out best out of every one!
World famous Pakistani quality work.
This is literally soldering. Not to mention changing the temper of the wheel with that much heat. That wheel will break instantly with any kind of load or impact.
Soldering usually means the use of a metal that is of a lower melting point than the metal being joined. In this case, the metals are of the same melting point. More like welding. Also, aluminium anneals with heat, which makes it less brittle. The hammering is work hardening it. I'd say these guys are more savvy than you give them credit for and looking at the wall to wall wheels in that workshop, they seem to have a bit of experience.
@@Weejie2011 would the isolated heating of the wheel still not remove the temper of the wheel in the repaired area and affect its strength? unless once the repair was completed, they heat treated the entire wheel again
@@jacklarson6281 Aluminium and steel behave quite differently from each other with heat. The biggest problem I can see here is the lack of flux to prevent oxidisation and assist in removal of impurities. Annealing is probably beneficial.
Oh. and they seem to be heating a larger area than just the damaged part and with the conductivity of aluminium, it's not as bad as people might think.
@@jacklarson6281 doubt they reheat it, check him out painting the repaired area. Nah that wheel is trash thru and thru. Maybe worth its weight in metal that’s all
My God, I'm watching and can't believe. I feel sorry for the person who has bough this "rim"... That kind of part can't be repaired - it easy way to death on way.
I was thinking something the same. The skill to do something like that very impressive but in no way would I put that on my car and drive it that's for sure
Perfectly safe. Only thing that could happen is that area will lose air.
@@dan_6915 That is not safe. During welding, a temperature in material change the micro structure of alloy. In consequance, the place around weld has lower strength. Aluminum alloys are very weeck if you have that imperfections - they are prone to cold cracking. You can't forget that the wheel rim is extremly loadet. That information you can finde in aluminum alloys metalurgy. Welding is not the same like casting. E.g. in Germany such repairs have been banned.
@@Bluebuthappy182 agree, incredible skills, but for what, someone to crash and probably die ??
@@m4ri081 That aint Deutschland, buddy! Not much can happen when driving most of time speeds up to 60 kph. At worst wheel falls off They repair toxic batteries. They patch tire side wall. Long time until they will catch up with western safety rules. It's fun to watch these ancient repair techniques Peace! ✌️
good work. Talent of Pakistan. ZindaAbad
Next time you think you are brave remember this man melting alloy with an oxy torch right above his feet with these shoes. He has earned those thug life glasses.

The customer will be far far away before the thing breaks but at least it's clean when you rip them off .smart very smart .
Meanwhile I’m starting up a shop nearby to do wheel balancing, I’ve ordered the 50 Tonnes of Lead Alloy to help correct the local alloys…LoL
Better get some heavy ones!!!!

Looking forward to picking up a set of these babies on eBay! Wonder how many get killed on Asian Roads riding on Death Trap wheels. Amazed they didn't have a major fire. This could have been mag alloy!
Don't think Asian roads will ever see these wheels, and I've welded tons of magnesium alloys and never had a fire.
Check this out. Don't know cause but had heard of it before.

Sealer and spray paint can fix everything 🤪🤭 would like to see him balance that rim after the big amount of heat😆
Aluminum keep its properties when soldered.
@@tallerdumo when heated with a torch and straighten out with a big hammer, there is no chance in hell it's straight 🤣🤣
@@bjrnvingepedersen2580 Perhaps that is why it was trued on a lathe afterwards. Perhaps not as true as I would like it, however.
@@tallerdumo Looks like the fusing medium is of the same melting point as the material being joined, so not really akin to soldeing. More like welding.
@@Weejie2011 the lathe is not doing anything for the balance, it only takes away leftover material and make the shape 👌 that's why you use a balancer and not a lathe after fitting tyres 🤣🤣

Ufff este man es un monstruo muyy buen trabajo saludos desde colombia
12:35 "20/20" rim repair baby! Looks good 20 ft. away, driving by at 20 MPH, as we used to like to say. Just don't do any highway driving, or any driving at all...
Which highway do you think they are gonna drive on? I doubt their cars ever make it over 40mph.
He may as well forget the torch and just build up layers of spray paint then machine it. It may hood up longer than the original repair.
I'll bet the car those wheels go on has a nice smooth ride..... the whole time I was watching his lathe work I was in suspense waiting for an aluminum chip to hit him in eye
a smooth ride to god
Just because you can do it......doesn’t mean you should.
Sometimes you just have no choice if you can't possibly afford to buy new alloys
better to quit driving , then to end up killing others due to poor practices..
Would never trust this but coming from a welder that used tig to repair aluminum wheels this is pretty impressive
Зачем вся эта пайка, токарка, если можно было сразу налепить пластилина и покрасить серебрянкой?
Yep
Very interesting repair.
What part of sweden is this ?
A rare look into the Vossen factory
It's idiots. Using it's vehiles are damage. Bad geometry. When working with aluminum, do not use a gas torch. The weld spot will be weak
Respect, this rim would just be used as material for beverage cans in the West. It is really amazing what can be achieved with simple tools and lots of skill. Personally I wouldn't use this wheel on the limit but surely a rim like this may cost a little fortune in your country. Thanks for sharing!
Some things are just best left alone.
I loved the jb weld at the end dollar store paint
Grit job man grit working
Ахахах)) смотрел на это видео и представлял как пердаки рвутся в комментариях. Зашел почитать - так и есть )))
an impressively functional repair. we all know the challenges with aluminium fatigue but clearly they wouldn't be in business if every rim they patched exploded.
Seeing some of the other videos here I’m not so sure lol... Also the puddled aluminum is basically the same properties of cast alloy while the rim will have been forged and spun. It won’t be too strong, and any oxide incursion will make it worse since there’s no flux or shielding gas like tig.
Although having watched the whole thing the aluminum they added is forming swarf and not just chipping out like cast when machined, so it might be ok. It will be quite operator dependent, tho, so its more of an art than a repair.
his clients every time new ;)

This is really dangerous to repair a aluminium wheel while trying to keep the same original width. The stuff he put isn't as strong as the original material. The only way to do it is to make it thicker externally.
Nie zesraj się, dobrze chłopaki robią
Good thing we don't live in Pakistan or some other awful place like that.
Man, this is scrap metal, no repair is possible (except this aluminium foil and paint fix 😂😂)
Excellent Machining work. 8/28/2021
Large rim cuts follows a big impact and generally the whole thing is weak. Depending on type of cars some are heavy like m/Benz that type oxy-accet repair is a waist of time and resources it will soon break along the same position. What an inconvenience! It only works perfectly well for aluminum decorative items. In Zimbabwe we use Tig-fussion repair and you won't worry about leaks afterwards no need to spread extras. Yeah of course some of our roads have potholes. Here it's much cheaper to buy original pre- aluminum items than to repair, argon gas is expensive.
Spray paint makes any repair looks good.
I am waiting for a video which shows a Heart Operation in this country on a human being ;-))

Very nice job. When working with alloy or aluminum always wear a respirator.
Thats only in countries where human life is more valuable then the repairing process..
They definitely did a nice job doing the repair but without heat treating it will never last. I'm sure it's not a dot repair process. Lol
its aluminum you dont generally heat treat it to strengthen it. Thats more common on other metals.
