  • “Come on Justine, she’s not that good!” 😂 Thank you sir because that lit a fire under Serena’s ass.

  • Serena holds for 2/1 in the first set and one of commentators says "Well Justine could have been up 3/love but Serena holds." Umm sir you speaking as though it was on Justine's racquet and Serena didn't throw in aces on break point lol

    • What the commentator meant is that Henin did not take advantage of Serena's errors in her 1st and 2nd games that resulted in break points in both games.. I'm not sure how you could have possibly misconstrued such a simple comment.

  • All three rounds were such battles in that heat (QF-Azarenka, SF-Li Na, & F-Henin), but somehow Serena prevailed. She really wanted consecutive AO GS title wins. The only time she did it. 1:22:15 Third set 6-2

    • Yeah I think she was sick of winning it in the odd year. 03, 05, 07 and 09. She wanted to finally win it back to back. Plus she had extra motivation to win as they were trying to ban her from the 2010 Australian because of the incident at the 2009 US Open and people were saying at the time the only reason she was winning grand slams is because Justine and Kim retired. Kim beat her at the US Open on her comeback so Serena had something to prove that she is the best player in the world.

Overall, Serena can't compare to Iga on clay, Iga is much better clay-courter who has a realistic chance of breaking Chris Evert record of 7 French Opens. Iga already has 3 FO at the age of 22, Serena won her 2nd at the age of 32. No one sane compares Iga to Serena overall, because we know how many slams Serena won.

  • Serena has won so many Australian Open. Unfortunately for her sister Venus who is a great champion herself. Venus is the only player in the Serena, Justine, Clijsters, Sharapova, Mauresmo, Capriati, Davenport and Hingis era to never won the Australian Open. All these women have won the Australian Open in their career apart from Venus she lost 2 finals to Serena. What is shocking Venus made her second Australian Open final 14 years later first time in 2003 then 2017. Something definitely happened to her in her career. She deserved so much more.

As the day wore on, Serena was able to move a little better and decided to play so as not to disappoint all the people who'd bought tickets and were anticipating watching the final. There is no way Vinci could have/would have defeated a healthy, top form Serena who was not in pain.

At least by people who were/are real tennis afficionados. Of course Serena was also known for her perfect service motion and brilliant serves, her topspin lobs, her drop volleys, her forehand, etc. Serena had great variety of shot. Fantastic all around. Thus her winning more Professional Majors Singles Titles than any lady in History!
