  • Can relate to Ms. Morhios' case and the warm healing flow that she experienced. I had a pinched nerve that made it almost impossible to drive my vehicle. I visited a friend of my family in a nearby hospital when a stranger peered into the hospital room asking if anyone needed prayer for healing. I told him I did. He came over, laid his hand on the top of my head and began to pray when a liquid warm sensation flowed from the top of my head throughout my body. After my visit, I got in my car and drove away and have had no more pain since. It has been years pain free. Jesus still heals and am forever grateful.

    • I highly doubt that these people have ever even been born again. It sounds like they believe in works and think they have to work their way to God. You can't get any closer to God than through Jesus Christ and that's available to every single human being on the earth. The Bible also teaches us that we ought to be a light to the world, a city on the hill. We are not supposed to separate ourselves from everybody, we are supposed to be shining the light of Jesus Christ in all the world and for everyone to see. Jesus will change your life and make you full of love, peace, joy, and happiness. You can't hardly keep it to yourself because you just want to go out and share it with everybody. This is because it is such an amazing thing. I am a completely different person than I used to be before meeting Him. He filled my heart with love for people as I had never known. I love going out and talking to everybody in the world. You don't go pushing stuff on people but you just love people and the good Lord will tell you what you should say and when to say it. You become one with the father and you also have the mind of Christ. Your whole life changes. You cannot earn your way into the kingdom and you cannot be any holier than anyone else. God looks at his children through Jesus Christ and our works are as filthy rags. It is a complete waste of life to go out and isolate yourself from the world where you are not even sharing Christ with anyone. You're not even making a difference in the world. I just don't agree with it, but I know a lot of people believe stuff like this.

    • Your prayer touched me. Please read Revelations 21: 3 and 4. When Jesus' disciples asked him how to pray, he told them how and to whom. Matthew 6:9 “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” The prayer continues. Note that Jesus instructed them to pray to God, our heavenly Father. The Bible also says at 1 Timothy 2:5 “... there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” That is why we pray to God, in Jesus' name, because he died for us and so became the mediator between us and God. Before Jesus gave up his life, he prayed to God at John 17:1.

    • They have a healthy lifestyle, but Jesus and his disciples didn't live a cloistered life, they were out among the people preaching the gospel about the coming kingdom of God, the resurrection, the Day (not literal 24 hour) when Jesus will judge the living and also the dead that has been resurrected. Before he ascended to heaven, he told his followers to continue preaching about God's kingdom until his return. Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 28:19, 20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost [spirit]:” “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Acts 5:42 “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Acts 10:42 “And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.” Luke 8:1 “...he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,”

Thank you again, and God bless you and yours, in the name of Jesus, amen. Greetings to you with Mark 9:41 (KJV) "For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward." People can wash their hands before handling books, oils and dirt can be cleaned (patiently, and meticulously, but it is possible). Physical damage is not repairable in the same way.

It’s ok anyway. We can pray the same. Jesus is with each of us in exactly the same way. Once we recognize that we can connect with Him like these monks from within the very tabernacles of our hearts that carry Him, then we’re ready for Him 🙏🏻

    • And yet people like to use the word 'medieval' to mean primitive. They did amazing things with hand-tools and know-how in ancient times, things we can't even imagine doing without all kinds of technical props, but we have the audacity to call our forebears 'primitive' and 'backward' - largely because they were so motivated by faith in God, which we like to think of as backward and primitive. Faith overcomes all kinds of obstacles, and many of the amazing things from the Middle Ages and earlier were built by people of faith for the glory of God. That's the secret: faith in God, not faith in man and his technology.

The veil was torn when Christ breathed his last breath….and we all have equal access to Christ. It’s by Grace we are saved, through faith, and not of ourselves. It’s the gift of God, NOT of works, so that no man can boast. Generally speaking, these men are living a “religious” life, not a Godly one. And look at Christ- he is the ultimate example of how we should strive to live. He never hid, he spent time with his creation and walked among us. These men are selling a lie and are full of pride and self righteousness imo (just like the Pharisees)

But the Bible tells us that we are the church, so there’s no need to look for the real church .. they are trying to get closer to God but the Bible tells us that once we are born again, the Holy Spirit dwells within so there’s no need to go to the end of the world to get close to God.. make out to be difficult, but the Lord is not difficult.. Psalms 100:4-5 Says Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. @poppybell8217@poppybell82173 ай бұрын
    • It is actually not a performance, but a prayerful conversation with God. The prohibition on women is meant to prevent distraction from this conversation. There are also convents where men are generally not allowed, with the exception of their priest. Neither do the nuns want distraction by worldly relationships. Any woman who tries to go to Mt. Athos would have to be selfish to do so. Also if you want to see the “art”, I’m sure you can see it online.

    • tell that to the Essene jews from the old testament from which john the baptist came. groups of secluded people have always existed throughout history. Where do you think the dead sea scrolls came from? secluded jews. How do you think our Bibles were written before printers were invented? Monks sitting in a secluded monastery all day writing Bibles by hand. God does not call all to the same mission. People can serve Him in many ways. And the next time you reverence the Bible, just remember how the word of God became available..by those very same Christians you deem worthless. Some people are not social, God didn't make them that way, but they are social with Him and they spend their lives being His friend and praying for the world. That is a very special gift@@LC-go1uh

  • It is surreal that I would be blessed to view this 60Min doc, the monks pray ' Lord Jesus have mercy on me[us] incessantly...Well personally, I pray to Jesus for my son, his wife & I, to be drawn ' nigh to Jesus' heart'. How about that for loving, adoring, hoping and trusting in Jesus? Be blessed people! Power to these men who strongly suggest by their way of life ' exemplify purity'.

  • Wonderful video! One of the monks said he prays unceasingly with actual prayers. I think another way to be in steady communion with the Divine is the practice of being consistently in presence (I.e. the present moment).
