It was 1995 and I was enrolled in a freshman Intro to Astronomy class. For the lab project, my lab mates and I went to the lab classroom and painted the walls with glow in the dark paint in the pattern of the constellations. For the presentation, we killed the lights and the room glowed. The PHD professor, a stereotypical PHD astronomy, tenured professor was absolutely giddy I’m totally cool saying it was my idea, but we wouldn’t have followed thru without my lab mates. Do I regret not going into the sciences and something that would lead to Space, in any format whatsoever? 110%

  • I had a job with Rockwell International in Seal Beach as a satellite technician. I was told I had a job for life. The first shuttle blew up, and it took my condo in Huntington Beach with it. I was saddened by the loss of my beautiful condo overlooking the marina. I have never had the opportunity to own such a property again. Now those properties are going for $600,000 or more. It was a lesson to me that you must own a sustainable source of income first before buying any properties. I, in later life, became homeless, and almost died twice in 2020. I am in a much better place now and preparing for a better future, but it is so hard. I feel sad for those who lost their jobs and failed, but it is what life is made of. Life is not without its challenges, and that is what makes it worth living. Those who overcome, understand what true success is.

And again, when it needed to shield itself from the suns heat (which was amazing in itself to hear how they managed that), eagerly waiting to see if it unfolded correctly. All of that. Iike many we knew JW would most likely change many things we thought we knew, and help us learn so much more. And ever since then, the photos and information received has been amazing!!! If you haven't looked up James Webbs photos and the information its sent back thats been interrupted, just thus far, i highly recommend. Its beautiful and wildly interesting. History in the making!

Light travels at close to 670,000,000 miles per hour... so when you think about how far light goes in 1 year... its almost unfathomable how far away 33 billion light years is...

  • @37:41,, note the emotion on Elon's face when he talked about James Lovell and Gene Searnon's distrust in his plan to commercialize space flight. "Those guys are hero's of mine,, I wish they would come visit,,," His jaw moving side to side, he was on the verge of tearing up. Was that emotion genuine? I 100% believe he was at that time THAT compassionate and determined about the Space X endeavor. Of course we now know 2020 Space X successfully sent two astronauts to the space station and since have made numerous space missions for the United States.
