  • The Supercharger network is still a bit point for Tesla. Most of the network isn't available to other brand EVs. I totally agree about renting vs buying FSD. I don't change cars often, my car is 2 years old. Why pay full price. At the current $8000 - $99/mo that is 6.7 years. In watching Wham Baam, any moment could be a #hondabump and the Tesla could be totaled. Attaching FSD to the account would solve this issue. Overall monthly rental limits the right to a month at a time, rather than the ownership/lifespan of the car. Buying just carries too much risk. I my use case, I probably would only rent FSD for road trips. I admit to really be enjoying the FSD experience with the free month intro, but it's mostly the fun of something new.

    • It is full self driving. You are just there in case it has a spaz. I went in a new Plaid for 30+ miles of back country roads without issue, decreasing radius downhill turns, blind turns etc. Hard driving stuff. It was faster than most people I've driven with in such conditions, it was amazing. Only time it threw control at the driver was when old, different angle lane markings hadn't been sand blasted properly on the motorway, leading to the car to think it was breaching a lane. So I can tell you have not experienced it yet. And this was earlier last year, it'll be better now.

  • People seem really confused about the August robo-taxi “reveal”. You say, “It’s going to be interesting to see that Robo-taxi announcement because that is going to be heavily dependent on how FSD progresses in the next few months.” What??? In the next few months, FSD is still going to be Level 2 Driver Assistance that requires hands on the wheel and eyes on the road at all times! Nothing will change by August… but it doesn’t really matter, because FSD as it exists today won’t be what powers the distant future robo-taxis. It will be entirely different software made specifically for purpose-built autonomous vehicles that I guarantee will be loaded with ultrasonic sensors. The only connection between FSD of today and what will eventually drive the distant future robo-taxis is that the robo-taxi software will be trained by your driving data, at your expense. That’s it. And no, the Tesla sitting in your driveway today isn’t going to take off and start driving people around while you sleep! That is utterly absurd, and it’s unconscionable that Elon is saying it will (and ridiculous that anyone believes it). Do you seriously think any regulatory agency on the planet will approve a driverless car that has NO ultrasonic sensors??? Of course not!! KZheadrs seem to think that in August we’ll see a production-ready vehicle with Level 5 autonomous driving ready to go, and there will be an app update to turn on robo-taxi functionality for the entire Tesla fleet. Sorry, but that is an absurd fantasy! What we’re going to see in August is what we saw in November 2019 with the Cybertruck - a barely functional prototype rolled onto a stage and some PowerPoint slides filled with lies and misinformation. Then it will be around 4 or more years before a purpose-built robo-taxi vehicle actually exists… and that’s when the hard part starts - the regulatory approval process, which will take many, many years. We won’t see Tesla robo-taxis on the road beyond limited testing for AT LEAST a decade. People just aren’t using their brains…

I absolutely never expected or intended to use my vehicle as a self-driven taxi to make money, but I am beyond tired of having the value of my vehicle driven downwards by price cuts to new buyers every time I turn around. • And at its low FSD cost $2,000 plus you had to have EAP which was $5,000...so $7,000 total. I personally don't think FSD is worth more than that. And if Elon would rather have it cost a lot more, then he really doesn't care about saving lives, because at those high prices most people won't be able to afford it. But I also think Tesla should let FSD be transferred for free if your car was totaled in an accident and it wasn't your fault. And charge a small transfer fee (maybe $99), for when you just want to buy a new Tesla. Because I won't buy FSD outright again if I can't transfer it for free. Then again Tesla should probably just sell it via the subscription model. Why is Tesla always releasing new things like paint color and refreshed cars in other countries first? An American company should offer those things in America first.

Difficult to see after the initial take up from the wealthy new technology enthusiasts they can survive much longer in any large scale. I'm still not sure just "how good" but certainly the chatter is way way better...all based on Tesla Vision as well so vastly simplified compared to anyone else as well. Time will tell but this is one way to survive a price War and this is most definitely a price War. Cybertruck definitely needs to get out the door and into customer hands in the meantime. Still following Aptera more than anyone else at the moment as might not even need to ever charge your vehicle with a plug with that one which creates an awesome amount of simplification along with the whole "bathtub" thing. Is funny that Tesla said to hell with even bothering to get the weight down tho..

A car is not a cell phone with apps which follow the phone. Grow up already. Buy the addon or dont. You sell the car all the upgrades go with that car. Do you strip out all the upgrades and then sell the car??humm..no you dont. You want to be an early adoptor and have bragging rights...well you do you boo. Again, stop being children and accept the fact that addon or upgrades are for that purchase on that car. Do you buy an Audi with heated seat upgrade and demand your next Audi include them as well..because you payed for it in the last model..hummm? No you dont. Grow up.
