A lioness from the Kambula pride strikes with surgical precision. Then we find the Maxim's male, a herd of elephants and finally, the Eyrefield male.

She wouldn’t give a flying fuck if the animal was lame or in good health, a meal is a meal, no matter how hard or easy it is.

  • Man that was incredible. I don't understand how the waterbuck did not hear the lioness coming though... we could hear her footsteps through the camera. I do wonder whether there was something wrong with that waterbuck. Impressive nonetheless. I suspect even if the waterbuck did react once the lioness charged it would have been too late.

  • That water buck was probably injured or sick, it's clear inability to kick-start his typical explosive start at 1:20 is too evident.

  • This buck was VERY sick and old. Did you see how his ears were drooping from the first part of the video? He did not even have the energy to keep them in an alert position. Kudos to the lioness, who probably also noticed that the buck was a "good" target.

  • That reaction from the waterbuck just tells me it was sick or/and injured. He walk strangely, also when it recognized the lioness, it was delayed, slow, and barely had any power not even on that "jump" he tried. Normally he'd rather run immediately or take a quick turn to defend itself with his horns. It was an easy prey.

  • Very nice hunting sequence, having said that, there's definitely something wrong with that Waterbuck.......I've seen domestic cattle react far quicker (when a big cat is on their tail), than this poor bull :(

  • Esse animal me pareceu velho, doente ou ferido na perna. Na verdade, acho que era uma combinação de tudo isso! Ele não teve poder de reação, típico de animais saudáveis e fortes. É o caminho de todos os animais que estão em um ambiente selvagem e vão chegando a uma certa idade. Os leões sabem bem identificar esses animais.   • The lioness did all the right thing, for example approaching by stealth, still the waterbuck reaction was not right, like it was already sick, or enervated. But if that was the case, all the more reason to cull him out of the herd. That is the essence of the dynamic relation between a predator and its prey, for the long term benefit of both species.

  • That waterbuck was definitely VERY ill. Did you see it didn't even struggle, and the Lion virtually did nothing other than jump onto the back? Life is too short really, and VERY uncertain. Why do we/animals even eat food?

  • I wonder if we can celebrate the lionesses hunt and her success on attaining a meal without hearing “The animal was an easy target” “It was weak, there is no way a female Lion could bring down something that big so easy” here is a thought, just appreciate that a lion, is indeed that, a lion, don’t apply fragile gender logic to the strength of a large apex predator, that would no doubt be able to tear your throat or severe your spinal cord faster than you could thumbs down this comment. Don’t apply human logic to wild animals, that’s the worse mistake any man or woman could make. The lioness made a kill, she likely filled her belly and she has possibly provided for her pride..that’s it end off.

  • Something not quite right with the waterbuck: lethargic, head down, tail still and unaware of possible threats. A very easy kill for that lioness.
