British unmarked cop cars are fine! Possibly one of the best selections of UK vehicles I've seen, classy!
Sadly, we don't get these fancy BMW unmarked cars like you guys do here in the US. We have Ford Taurus interceptors, Chevy caprice PPV(HOLDEN), Dodge charger pursuits, Chevy Tahoe PPVs, and Ford utility interceptors. All have over 350HP and do 150+mph. I'm loving these nice unmarked cars in the UK👍
@@yusufgta4341 true. Our unmarked cars might be better but your standard cars are better, V8 ford crown Victorias

Yes
@@afcgeo882 Not really, the standard Interceptor Sedan and Utility (fitted with the 3.7L Cyclone, the engine that most agencies go for) does 0-60 in around 8 seconds. The X5 (fitted with the 3.0L diesel that we use in the UK) does it in around 6.5.

Magnetic lights on unmarked cars exist so you can do just that.
Kinda hard to stay hidden in plain sight with a siren on your ("unmarked") car
Love the White Volvo at 7:08. I love the way they blended in the lights with the Volvo badge, very stealthy lights would've been hard to see when they are off but also just looks cool at the same time when on. Although it's a training unit so IDK how much they need that stealth, especially with the bigger light on the roof.
Why was it waiting?
@@TheMightyKinkle As you're not meant to force someone through a red light when driving on blues. However, you can be directed through a read light by a police officer in uniform.
@@TheMightyKinkle Hmm not sure to be honest. Maybe instructor was showing him something? Or more likely maybe he couldn't get through the traffic and didn't want to push the cars through a red light? But not sure.

A tremendous selection, including many vehicles I wouldn’t expect!
I think this guy needs much more credit for somehow finding them nd knowing to be in the right spot as they pass by with the sirens on
I didn’t know that the met police still used the magnetic beacon lights that you stick on top of the car. It’s pretty cool and actually looks like quite an effective emergent light!
Those are not police officers they’re fire officers or ambulance officers, those are their personal vehicles but added lights so they can respond when needed
Those are undercover police. 😂
1:41 That is a Whelan W295 siren. They came out in the UK in the early 90’s. In my opinion still as good if not better than any siren of today.
I love the 3 Audis at the start 😍
6:39, that’s actually a Volkswagen Jetta
Yup that's right
I loved the Vauxhall Zafira. Must have blended right in since its a popular family car.(at least in my area) and the plain transit afterwards was quite unique too
The Zafira really surprised me, never thought that it would make it as a police car.
@@Jake-yg9it Me too, i thought, what a f**king Zafira lol Lucky the heater element never caught fire!
What a bunch of funny and interesting vehicles. A Mercedes-Benz GLA, a plain white Ford Transit. These vehicles are interesting and funny
I suppose its to blend in more and makes it harder for criminals if there is a few different types of unmarked vehicles
Undercover police cars have no limits 😁
And the volvo v40????
The UK departments have never cared about vehicle expenses for some reason, and don’t bother with streamlining their fleets. They buy very random vehicles.
Similarly
When 3 audis like that come for you you know you're in trouble
I really like british umarked cars because they blend in with the traffic while american unmarked cars are just crown vics and impalas
Where I live we don't have crown vics anymore and we never used impalas.our department uses unmarked Tahoe's and pick up trucks. And uncover mustang and camero
In Austria they're VW Passat, Skoda Octavia and VW T5&6.
US uses unmarked Dodge Chargers, Chevy caprice PPVs, Chevy Tahoe PPVs, Ford explorer interceptor, Chevy impala PPVs, and Ford Crown vics. We have lots of varieties in the US. all have over 350HP and do 150+mph.
The 2020 Ford Explorer interceptor now has 400hp and does 150+mph plus a 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. It's nice!!!
@@yusufgta4341 yh but there all also marked police cars so even when there unmarked police instantly think police
Those Audi's are interesting, nice spec on them too!

8:27 Haha nice! BTP on a traffic stop, they sure do love their magnetic beacon
How u know its BTP
This isn’t BTP
@@beausexon435 It is indeed. I invite you to prove me otherwise, however.
Very much doubt it's BTP. I'm a serving met officer, and we used to have several identical ford focuses in the station I worked out of, all similar colours, some started with "BX" registration as most of the met's fleet do, because their vehicles are bought, or leased to them, and then fitted out with the kit and decals by a company called Babcocks engineering, based in Walsall, West Midlands, as such they register most of the cars there, hence a lot of Met's vehicles have "BX" at the start of the reg. I'm not saying it isn't BTP, as I've seen BTP driving around in an unmarked ford focus estate, also with a magnetic beacon and a stick on dash light, but judging by the car, and the reg, i'd say it's more likely to be Met than BTP. In our old station we used to have a few magnetic lights laying around, 1 was identical to this one, but some of the others were the old "upturned plant pot" style light.
@@thefiestaguy8831 You can tell by the light setup on the grilles that its BTP, massive giveaway. Met don't use that setup or flash pattern on unmarked cars. I've seen them up close.
12:27 is a Skoda Superb, not an Octavia.

The entire Connecticut State Police fleet, near New York, is unmarked. It is the only complete unmarked state owned fleet in the modern world. For some behind the scenes reasons the public and legislature has not felt the need to compel the agency to mark (a majority) their vehicles.
3:19 You know it’s an ARV because it’s being driven like an ARV
Why does London use so many different vehicles and sirens to the rest of the country?
A lot of the vehicles in this video are fire officer vehicles which are kitted to their own discretion and aren’t stock across all vehicles, which is why the sirens differ depending on the vehicle. (I think)
@@bravotgm1944 Ah right
also use different vehicles to keep that level of secrecy. ie america use the same couple of cars pretty much which is why they are easier to be seen yet bc of the wide variety they can catch more people
Also the met probably have a much bigger budget
Because they’re London. No one says “no” to Scotland Yard.
Nice Nice.

could someone please explain to me why range rovers are needed? for what types of mission?
does anyone know what sirens they use or have a link ?
Where about s did you catch that unmarked Ford transit with the orange and yellow stripes on the back
AKA ‘Chevrons.’
How do you tell if they're a driver trainer vehicle or not?
Speed and good siren usage. Very easy to spot even if you don't know what vehicles they're using
Usually very slow speed. Had one come past me recently, an unmarked 69 reg BMW 218 Grand/Active tourer.... rear flashing blues in the windows, siren. Cleared past me and there was a good 50 metre gap to the cars ahead at the lights and he literally crawled towards them at about 15 or 20 miles an hour. Looked in the vehicle as it went past and saw a youngish looking officer driving, with an instructor sat next to him pointing the route to take on the off-side around the lights. I did wonder how long he'd had in, the job, I've been in the job for 3 and a half years and still not a blue light course yet.
There will be 3 passengers normally, making notes.
I'm not familiar with how it works in the UK, but there doesn't seem to be a set fleet for unmarked cars there? Are plain clothes officers able to pick their own car from a list or even use their own vehicles? There seems to be a huge variation with unmarked vehicles lighting and sirens too. (I'm aware not all clips are in the UK).
There are many departments and agencies in this video and they all choose and purchase cars themselves. There are normal cars, not specially built for police duty. They are then sent to a customizer to install any special equipment and plated.
yes
Geez so many rare emergency cars! ...and with sirens!! Absolutely fascinating!! should change the title to *try not to climax challenge*
