Youre evil for the Palworld joke sir, the devs of that game are some of the best devs in modern gaming. Leaving in exploits on purpose because some people find them fun is one of the reasons I love concerned ape so much and palworlds doing it too. Along with transparancy that we dont get with the silksong/hallow knight devs

Very, very, very basic plot summary. King comes in and gives bugs intelligence and creates a kingdom. Radiance doesn’t like that and infects the minds of bugs. When her influence spreads, the infection seeps through the body. King finds Void. King decides to use it when creating countless children to make an emotionless vessel, as emotion is what the Radiance latches on to in order to infect bug minds. King has three big bad bugs become seals to keep it further locked up. It doesn’t entirely work as the titular Hollow Knight isn’t completely emotionless. Kingdom falls into ruin. You’re one of those children, coming back from somewhere to either kill the Radiance or become the new, better vessel to keep her contained. Again, VERY basic plot summary.

My file of hollow knight All I need to do is Pantheon of Hallownest, and absolute radiance on radiant difficulty. Also do the pantheons with all 4 bindings simultaneously, but I don’t think I’m good enough. Also, have never bothered to do that thing with the weird mushroom guy. In summary, almost everything I have left to do is bordering on impossible. However, my proudest gaming achievement is pure vessel on radiant difficulty

I love the lore of this game, where it’s hidden in the backgrounds, description of items, and conversations with seemingly unimportant little guys. The world building has so many layers it’s great.

Yes The Jellyfish and Mushrooms
in case anyone wants a brief hollow knight lore summary: the moths used to worship the Radiance. Then the Pale King came to Hallownest, giving bugs a mind. He then started to govern his new kingdom and became the king. Eventually the moths moved on from the Radiance and started to worship the Pale King instead. The Radiance was not happy about that and started to infect bugs (the orange stuff). The Pale King was not pleased about that and started the project to seal the Radiance away forever. That would make the infection disappear. So he made love to the White Lady, and made lots and lots of babies. He threw these babies eggs into the abyss. This would make them "hollow", as in, no dreams, no voice, no thoughts. The infection of the Radiance can only infect beings that have higher thoughts (dreams mainly). The strongest baby/vessel that emerged got trained and turned into the Hollow Knight. The King then got 3 other people and turned them into the Dreamers to make the seal stronger. Lurien was loyal to the King so he had no problem getting turned into one. Monomon agreed that this would be the wisest choice. Later on during gameplay she has changed her mind and allows the Knight to kill her to undo the seal. She also placed a 2nd protection around herself that needed Quirrel to undo it. Herrah agreed to be turned into the 3rd Dreamer only if she gets a child from the Pale King. The Pale King and Herrah then did the deed and Herrah birthed Hornet. Since Hornet was not tossed into the Abyss, she s just a normal bug. Everything seemed perfect and to work, but sadly, the Hollow Knight was no longer perfectly hollow. The Pale King and the Hollow Knight had developed a father-son bond, which allowed the Radiance to influence the world despite being sealed. Hallownest fell because the Pale King couldn't help himself but love his son. The Knight we play is perfectly hollow, and therefore able to perfectly seal the Radiance.

Quick tips :) 1. Get desolate dive early game, then get descending dark in crystal peaks afterwards 2. Break the damn chandelier before watcher knights 3. Get more charm notches before watcher knights 4. The best loadout for 6 notches is shaman stone, longnail, and wayward compass You gotta listen to that last one
Watcher Knights is my least favorite boss, that chandelier saved my steel soul run

I know it doesn’t matter now, but using dream nail on enemies restores soul which is super helpful throughout the game. Was chanting at the screen saying ‘use dream nail’ in that charm notch room lol, but it’s also very helpful in things like coliseum

If you thought that Pure Vessel is hard (which it really is), can't wait to see you agains The Absolute Radiance :D I trained for hours for both of them, even though I could kill Pure Vessel almost 100% of the times, I think I could only get the AR about 60-80% of the times

45:18 Quick Slash definitley helped there and is very strong, but I’m pretty sure steady body was actually what got you through that fight. Steady body not only stops your nail from knocking you back, but also makes bosses that stagger (when bosses like hornet, dung defender, and lost kin stop attacking and just sit there) get staggered more often, which gave you more downtime to heal. Kinda funny to me because a lot of players wouldn’t even equip that charm if it was free because the no-recoil screws up the movement your used to.

by the way, you can use the fragile strength/heart charms during soul memory bosses, even if you die they won't break because its a memory boss not an actual IRL boss so the fragile charms don't break
The Watcher Knight fight can be shortened by climbing up the left wall before you agro them and break a chandelier and it destroys a couple of them before you start the fight
So question, is Seanie saying “irregardless” a bit that I’m too new of a subscriber to understand? Or does he genuinely say it? Yes I know it’s a real word now.

the most useful piece of advice from speedrunners I watched was to fight every dream boss with a lvl 1 nail and just spell them to death, dream bosses escalate with nail upgrades so when I replay or go for steel soul I always go for spells upgrades rather than nail ones and my god what a difference does it make, specially markoth, he's so easy with this strat, so by then I have collected enough pale ore to upgrade and cruise to all the other bosses, the speedrun achievement it very easy this way.
Nice playthrough! I felt a lot of vicarious pain remembering 112% completion, though I think the most painful part was that you kept using the misnomer "irregardless." Good stuff, either way!

Pure Vessel is my favourite boss, I can never get tired of fighting him.
If you really think about it wayward compass is like a mentor. It guides you thorough in the beginning guiding you but the more stronger you get and the more experience you gain your need for a mentor decreases.

tips for soul master/tyrant for whoever wants them: when in second phase and he is teleporting above you, you can swing upwards and hit him while he's hovering above you

Awesome job on the 112%! That said, as someone who hasn't played hollow knight (so I could be wrong) isn't there one more boss? After defeating radiance and getting the true ending, isn't there an Absolute Radiance boss fight in the Pantheon? If I remember correctly, the Pure Vessel isn't the final boss of the final pantheon. Either way, awesome job!
Absolute Radiance is the final boss in Pantheon 5, which isn't required for 112%
