False Knight actually has theoretically infinite health, as the only way to kill him is to let him fall through the floor, but if you can stagger him before that happens he won't be able to break it. the game doesn't actually track a total health bar for him, just the amount of cycles required to get him there.

Btw the flame in distant village is part of a storyline that ends in getting carefree melody, objectivaley one of the best charms in the game IMO (FYI The quest is just talking to the guy in distant village, then returning to the torch, smacking it, then going back to Dirtmouth)

@@The_protein_Titin you can only fight him in godhome after reaching him in P5, so out of question. And to answer your question: Grimmchild sucks. Fully upgraded it deals a pitifull 11 damage, IF it does not miss. Also makes traversing the map a pain sometimes. Meanwhile carefree melody is ok. Not worth 3 notches imo, but negates every 4th hit on average.

If you were to include all bosses, theoretically there are 16 bosses you couldn't do in alphabetical order. They are: 1. Failed Champion (requires False Knight) 2. Flukemarm (requires Soul Master) 3. God Tamer (requires Oblobbles) 4. Grey Prince Zote (requires Zote the Mighty) 5. Hollow Knight (requires Uumuu and Watcher Knight) 6. *Oblobbles (It's possible if you don't count the bosses you fight in the trial as the actual boss, and you let Zote die) 7. Radiance (requires Uumuu and Watcher Knight) 8. *Soul Warrior (it can be skipped in earlier patches so you can beat Soul Master first) 9. Vengefly King/Zote the Mighty (since you need Mantis Claw for many bosses, you can leave Zote to die and kill a Vengefly King in the Colosseum, or you can kill the Vengefly King early and beat Zote in order) The 7 bosses in the Godmaster DLC all require many other bosses to be beaten out of order. The closest any of them get are Brothers Oro & Mato, where if you consider it "Oro & Mato" all you need to beat out of order is Soul Warrior.
Kewl stuff, never consider False Champion while setting this up. Just knew about Flukemarm, but saw some crazy ass glitch to reach her. Was gonna do it but decided to research further, saw God Tamer and gave up lol

Tip for BV: You can pogo above it during the headbanger attack by moving back and forth to avoid the infection (it goes left/right/left/right/etc) Also, for Cloth, you got her good ending by taking her to Traitor Lord (rescuing Cloth before TL). She came to Hallownest to find a foe that can bring her death that would reunite her with a friend who is supposedly dead. The other possible endings to Cloth's story is that (rescue after TL) she leaves Hallownest to search for new opponents and the objectively bad ending is to dream nail her ghost.

Four notches for… healing once after 17 years? There are literally so many better charms. examples: carefree melody, soul twister, fragile heart. Chance to NOT TAKE DAMAGE, a whole extra spell cast, two extra HP for damn near nothing. Also I’m sure you knew that you can fight traitor lord without cloth, so you really didn’t beat it legitimately bro 😎
It's mainly so I can focus on fighting only. Since I might get hit again while trying to focus heal. Also most those charms are hella late game, I could go to hive night with claw only pretty much. Also i got cloth killed while she killed traitor lord so technically i indirectly killed them both. So challenge complete, lol 😼

Two of the charms I listed you can get before you get the second spell! Hell fragile heart you get right after getting dash and all you have to do is not die or pay a little under 200g to fix it if you do. Yeah the best charms are locked behind the late game, but I didn’t even get hiveblood until I went through the hive for the mask shard.
First of all there is another charm for banishing the Grimm troupe instead of beating nkg and second of all the nightmare heart in the background of the Grimm fight lights up at 50% hp
At 25 % (first pufferfish attack) the heart beat faster, at 50 % (second pufferfish attack) the eyes start glowing, and at 75 % (third and last pufferfish attack), the heart beat even faster and the eyes glow even more. Also everytime nkg lose 25 % of his health (every pufferfish attack and when he's dead) the nightmare grimmkin laugh at him

I LOVE the undertale and deltarune music choices, especially since I absolutely adore undertale and deltarune and also that world revolving in the Grimm fight was absolutely INSANE! Do hollow knight location nuzlocke where you can only go to each location once (except crossroads). So once you enter an area, if you leave it you cannot return to that area. This excludes crossroads, city of tears if you want, and areas entered by doors (like ancient mound). Also city right and city left can be counted as different areas

tip for anyone dumb enough to attempt this: in current patch you can do a stallball from crossroads to get into fungal wastes dashless. aside from being a neat trick its also *much* easier than the queens station fireball skip, if only because you get to try it way more often you can also do a similar thing to get to broken vessel without cdash or a shade skip (dubbed the broken vessel shade skip skip) but ive never done that so idk how hard it is

I actually done the fireball skip to reach the rest of fungal in a different run so I can see what happens if you get shade cloak before dash (it just shadow gives it to you, you have it but can't use it until you beat Hornet), and I accidentally done it in 2 fireballs instead of 3

if you upgrade your nail some bosses get more hp and they get shredded by spell attacks i think the wiki has a list of all enemy hp values and their changes when upgrading nails

Although, iirc, don’t the trials in the Colosseum of Fools give you percentages too? For example, you’d need to fight the Oblobbles in Trial 2, and although God Tamer is in Trial 3, you can technically fight her in the pantheon without completing Trial 3, so I think Oblobbles might have been doable for the alphabetical order challenge. But idk, what do you guys think?
