What’s the movie Angels & Demons about?
While the pope is dead and the cardinals are about to enter into conclave, the Illuminati, an ancient and powerful secret society hunted by the Catholic Church, steal antimatter from CERN in Geneva and place this time bomb in the Vatican. In addition, they kidnap the preferiti, the most papal cardinals, and send a video to the Swiss Guard explaining that they intend to kill one every hour before the bomb explodes. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks of Forrest Gump, Philadelphia and Big), a professor of symbology at Harvard University, who has been repeatedly denied access to his archives by the Church, is urgently called by the Vatican to help them deliver the preferiti and find the bomb. Together with Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), the Italian scientist from whom the bomb's antimatter was stolen, he embarks on an eventful treasure hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs and deserted cathedrals, trying to decipher the 400-year-old rebus left by Galileo.

Think about how easily they could have made this an action scene. Some sort of final confrontation, where Patrick either is trying to escape, or has someone hostage, and Robert has to do some final heroic act to save the day. Instead, the scene is just simple and raw, lets us take in the moment of this character experiencing everything crashing down on him. It's brilliant

The way he prays like god is going to save him from the pain of being burn alive, but that clearly doesn't work is terrifying
