  • You are correct. He does not have talent around him. Not because they are/were setting him up to fail, but because they needed to wipe the books clean and start fresh. They finally have draft picks in 2023 and over $100 million in Cap space. Get him reps now and work on his game to be ready for next year. The future is bright finally for us Bears fans!

    • That’s fair, but they could have drafted a receiver/OL with one of their first two picks. But yea Ryan Pace left a mess behind

    • @@BillyStephens they decided to draft defensively with their first two and I think they hit with kyler Gordon and Jaquan brisker. The bears need A LOT of things. OL, receivers, and more defense after trading Robert Quinn and Roquan Smith.

  • One of my theories for his poor play in weeks 1-4 is simply pressure. This 23 year old was constantly told this new coaching staff did not draft you and were set up to fail, so just know you could be gone at any moment, learning a whole new playbook, and ending the OSU and Chicago bears QB curse at the same time made this kid shut down and play tense. You can see it in his press conferences. In the first 4 weeks he was mumbling and looked very nervous to even answer any questions about his play. To now even while loosing he is smiling withe a separated shoulder. Many bears fans need to erase the past memory of other QBs work ethic and talent wise. This kid has both and he gets better at something every week. He has 20 total TDS this year and people call him a bust still.

    • The reason for his poor play was the play calling. Getsy added more QB runs and read options after the girls 4 weeks.

    • @@dansimon8515 Yes he did add more QB runs also, but the real reasons is Justin just was not ready yet. Around week 7 he was more pro ready.

  • Fields probably had his best game as a passer sunday against the Packers. 20 for 25 and even the announcers said the first pick wasn't on him. St Brown should've came back for the ball and the second one didn't matter cause the game was already over. Fields seems to be improving as a passer every week and this is with a lot of scrub receivers that would be lucky to be on a practice squad with any other team. You mentioned Fields missing throws but overall he seems to be getting better at that. For example, against the Falcons he missed a deep ball to Mooney. Later in the same game he points for Montgomery to go downfield and Fields throws a perfect pass on the sideline for a big gain, which was the last play you showed. . Obviously, there is room for improvement but when they get some actual talent around him I think he'll be fine.

  • “The fate of a quarterback in today’s NFL…”. Sorry, that has always been the case. The number of great quarterbacks who did not also have great coaching and at least some excellent weapons-at least on the offensive side-is minuscule. What the difference in today’s NFL is, is that teams are not sitting quarterbacks to let them learn, but playing them immediately. Thanks to the new CBA, young quarterbacks are not the massive investment they used to be that needed to be protected. Now, if one doesn’t work out, they can afford to draft another.

  • I can see from the end of last season all the way up to now there has been a narrative that he can’t go to his progressions quit. He can’t get the ball out quick. He’s bad and pressure your line can’t catch pneumonia in a blizzard the refs allow your receivers to be healed on route, which gives the illusion that the receivers can’t get open and he can’t go to his progressions quick enough I hate this new, NFL and media even the KZhead speak the same. Bull crap as if as the fans don’t watch the game you can’t see what’s happening

    • I would Love to get a receiver like Addison, Q.Johnson, or JSN; But if Chicago picks when Will Anderson or J.Carter is still on the board, I believe will go defense and select them. Our Need on defensive line is too great to pass on either one of these guys. Our Only hope of getting one of these receivers is for Carter and Anderson to be gone. I am torn; Because I really wish we had Detroit's situation with multiple 1st round picks.(I think it's Detroit ).

    • This season was never about winning. IT was always going to be a tank year. This was the first time the Bears actually blew everything up and restarted from the ground up. Any other GM would just try to put a Band-Aid on it but it didn't work long term. All that mattered this year was seeing if Fields is the guy to build around and anybody with a brain can tell that is a yes. Last season after the Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy shit show Poles had no choice but to sign all these players to cheap one year deals and he had to get rid of all of the dead cap space. This off season they will have the most cap space in the league. They have a chance to build around Fields and be a good team in a year or two

  • where were you to rave about Mitch Trubisky. He carried the worst team in NFL on his back, played behind a worse line, and played for the worst GM and Head Coach in history. His record for his time with Bears far outshines J Fields. You get a thumbs down for your analysis.

    @jimnaz5267@jimnaz5267 Жыл бұрын
    • The bears with Mitch Trubisky didn’t have the worst team in the league. The defense carried that team. You can say the o line was bad, but i wouldn’t say Mitch had a worst line than Fields. When Mitch first got to Chicago, the bears still had Charles Leno playing at a high level, Josh Sitton, Cody Whitehair was a pro bowler, Kyle Long was still good when healthy, and Bobby Massie was serviceable. And James Daniels was good but he never reached his full potential under Nagy. The bears are still putting Sam Mustipher out there at center for whatever reason. Idk how Larry Borom lost his job, but Sam Mustipher is still playing. Bears have had Dieter Eiselen for a few years now and he still hasn’t gotten a chance to show what he can do. It can’t be worse than what Mustipher has shown. But Justin Fields has 2 5th round Offensive tackles blocking for him in Jones and Borom if he’s starting, Whitehair isn’t what he was when he was on his rookie contract, Tevin Jenkins is playing at a pro bowl level but he needs to stay healthy and get his attitude right, and they need a long term answer at center. And they need a go to receiver In the passing game, and they need to fix their front 7 on defense. Justin has by far a worst roster that what Mitch had. Mitch came into a decent situation when he was drafted by the bears. The worst thing that happened to him was the Bears trading for Khalil Mack because that made them a win now team. Mitch still needed 2-3 years of learning and developing before he was going to become a championship caliber quarterback.
