How did the emergency-welded spike on the lady's weapon hold so well in the tests if it broke so easily against a pumpkin at home
There was probably only a single stress fracture on the point where it broke... maybe the rest was okay?

Blessing of the Leviathan.
It was probably the only tine with issues, and welding it probably annealed it to the point it wouldn't crack in a different spot.

Blade: literally splits in half Smiths: so I put some strawberry bubble gum to hold fix it up hopefully it works
I can't understand how so many of these guys make such beautiful weapons and then throw it all away by just using loose conection methods with glue and some leather band. It's not like it's a suprise that they do a strengh test.

Wasn't a matter of WILL a weapon break, just a matter of whose first.
If the weapon tested first break, they test the other one after to see if it survives. That to make it a fair testing.
Krotos It actually depends. They've only done that once that I remember and it was on the terra-cotta pots strength test. One broke after a single hit, so they tested the other to make sure it would survive longer.
@@comradeeverclear4063 I've seen at least 3 examples of them testing it again, and they seem to do a pretty decent job of testing with a similar amount of force. I'm waiting for the day both weapons break on the same test at the same time.

Corona: Exist That Girl: Group Hug Please Love it
Omg how stong was that weapon to break the ice in such a way *wow*
Really stong
it was all about this huge spike
The pointy tip of that was more like a oversized ice pick. Even a decent screwdriver could break a crystalised ice that size.
All the force of the stab/trust goes into 1 single small point, the spike on the other weapon was a lot shorter and therefor got thicker a lot faster. witch makes the distribution of the force different.
he should have won just for that. I don't even care if the head eventually came off
I'm glad this expert is there to tell us the weapons will kill after ripping the heart of the dummy out. We could never have figured that out
What's my favorite word in this show? *"Your weapon will KEEL."*
I think that’s a sentence rather than a word.
I love how he asks if the contestants are ready to have fun when it’s just him mutilating dummies to fuel his madness
Rita is so wholesome. You just gotta love her
She has refreshing energy. She seems like she makes everybody happier when she’s around
Chris Jackson 😊 you should see the folks I am in lockdown with. I can get a bit annoying after a few months. I have been running around in the woods though to burn off energy
I don't think the guy met the parameters
That's what I thought. The guy's weapon tip didn't look like the example shown and yet they tested it anyways when others missed lesser details and got disqualified.
I think it barely did. Doug did say it still grabs ok, despite the design being more like a spear.
Parameters or not, he was still booted out because of the fact his weapon head flew out.
Says, “ready to have fun” with blood drops on his forehead 😂
Everyone on this entire show are so humble
“You ready to have fun?” Such an innocuous statement, until you see the blood on his face and weapon in his hand.

Love how the lady looks at her forging process as if in standoffish disdain, like "Ew I definitely could have forged that better on a second go"
Imagine being on battle and watch friend get rip apart by that thing
She even went with an octopus themed dress! Awesome candidate. Really cool :D
One way to win the final round against your opponent is catastrophic failure of a weapon. Best way to save yourself from an unanimous decision
Why did they even test his weapon? There was no mechanical connection, the judges disqualified other smiths for the same thing.
Because they needed a show
They probably didn’t notice it was missing, on a handle it’s obvious but not on something that you hold away from your face
They most likely didn't know. Probably assumed he had the pins hidden under the leather and horsehair
My comment exactly
Blood on the face and with a smile - "it will keel" 😁

She did the weapon as it was required - so at the end, she should have won anyway. 🤝

I love the way he says "Will kill" its so wholesome. It Will KEEL
For a show making weapons that kill, the contestants and the judges are pretty wholesome
That was super interesting, I'd never heard of the sodegarami before, it is a brutal weapon and took a lot of intricate work to finish. I could tell right away Rita had achieved a product much closer to the original, based on that she was already in the lead but I was cautious about the broken prong. Luckily for Rita the prong outlasted the unpinned connection of the opponent's build, I expect that even if that prong had broken Rita still would have held the lead. :)
It drives me nuts when they don’t share the history of these obscure weapons.. that’s in large part why I watch these..
I like how he says" will kill" with a big smile in his face 😄
It will keeel
10:29 Everyone is in for the group hug except Will, that was cold dude!
This weapon seems too complex to adequately forge in 5 days. There's way, way, waaaaay too many parts to it.
The judges carry all the tests before and even forge the actual weapon, that's how they say that the time is tight fit, but enough to make it. They explained that in one of their specials.
@@alfred012345 And if you look at the one the judged made... It's crude and unfinished. So Eric above is right.

I'm glad she won because she had a great personality and I loved the creative approach she took on it, however I can never respect when a smith on this show relies on welding more than forging. It's not called Welded in Fire!

After watching lots of videos I realized that the person that goes first never has anything bad happen to the weapon and usually wins,
With the style he says it will kill I'm being a die hard fan of his cuteness 😂😂
Pretty sure Justin would have lost anyway. All the comments about "it's more of a spear" kinda show which way it was going.
Same. I was glad they were going through the tests anyway though. Even if he was doomed to disqualification in the end anyway they entertained everyone with a show.
