  • Good vid mate, thanks for keeping them coming. For any future furnace builds, you may want to consider pvc pipe for a liner. Civil plumbing companies use large diameter pipe and often have short lengths left over from jobs. I have got some 5 and 6 foot lengths for nothing, just by going and asking. Anyhow, a length cut to the depth of your furnace walls and then split in two lengthwise, taped together (inside) and there you go. Pack the refractory, let dry, cut the tape and peel one edge of the pvc into the middle and both halves come out easily.

  • wow more videos today 😁, I have been thinking about the high temperature on the inside of the furnace since the last video, instead of having one piece of metal going all the way around, if it was split into say 2 or 4 panels that overlap and are painted they could be replaced/switched around unless you just keep melting them 😂, ... you prepared the area before painting, but when spraying was the metal cold ? wondering if it would make a difference if it was warmed kinda like car spray booths that use heat lamps to help the coat dry more evenly as well as a little warm up between the coats ? ..fragments/cracking is normally the expanding and then shrinking like you said so guess its a little more trial and error on how to apply/how thick and if it just needs to cool down slower after being used?

  • Always seems like to much work compared to something like induction or carbon arc furnaces used industrially.

    • The cost of those things is in the many thousands of dollars just for the monthly power bill you pay weather you use the time or not you pay a bill with power line hook up like that . plus its about $50,000 for the power lines to be hooked up in most cases
