******* I Used Fathom Epoxy to pour the 1/8" thick design in the side panels. Eaven though it cured fine for me, It is designed for pours 1" or thicker. I would highly recommend using Total Boat High Performance or equivalent for something like this to get a consistent cure ********

I bet, who can say they have a custom steel/ash bed that blinks/strobes, etc. to music via embedded led lights. Btw it made me so happy to see how you tackled hiding the wires by ripping your boards into thirds and removing the center of the middle… wow! I built the cutest solid maple cloud shelf (Matt Cremona’s wife built one) but I used the striations of the wood to create depth or mood and I imbedded/routed remote controlled led lights into the shelf to make the cloud part moody and “stormy” with multi colors and a dimming feature so it could serve as a night light so anyways I totally appreciate your technique and sharing how you tied into each set of lights as it’s hard to find good, clear info on how to join leds. Btw I’m so sorry about your loss! There’s a video you had where it showed him whining and talking after suffering an allergic reaction to chicken! He reminded me of my sister’s dog Maggie (she could be his taller twin she’s half boxer but thicker build and same coloring, face and snorting, etc.) they sound identical so I always looked forward to seeing him in the videos. He had a wonderful, full life no doubt! I also have a mini Aussie with traditional tri colors and a couple years ago now I lost my standard, red haired Aussie so I get the pain! Anyways love love love that you CNC’s his 🐾 into the bed frame! Wish I’d thought to do the same

My father had a workshop of tools not unlike the gentleman in this video but also used them for a living. Dad started his collection as a young man before he was married and before kids were on the scene. My mother was a master at sewing, needle work, quilting, cooking, baking, refinishing furniture, etc. Between the two of them we had all the furniture, toys and clothes you can imagine. We weren’t rich by any stretch of the imagination but had everything we needed plus. It was truly amazing!

@cagirl4162 Your parents are smart, and it kept them out of debt. Your father has the skills that pay the bills, and your mother has the skills to take care of her family. They took shop and home economics out of school so children wouldn't be exposed to being self-sustaining.

But this is the reason he makes videos, it brings him money. Buying the bed would make a worse financial decision since that would mean less content to upload.

Hands down one of the coolest beds I have ever seen. I watched this video with my kids and now both of them want beds like this! I guess I know my next project now. The paw print you put on the headboard was such an awesome touch and I never would have thought of that.

What a wonderful gift you gave your daughter, and I'm not talking about the bed, I'm talking about after that bed is long gone, her memory of when my dad loved, and valued me so much, that he used his sweat, time, care, and thoughtfulness just for me. Like I said, "GIFT!"

With the chicken, you have to think about it, they have a pecking order and if you just throw a new one in the mix, she becomes the bottom of the food chain and she gets eviscerated. One thing you can do is put her in a dog crate and put the crate in your chicken run and leave her there for about a week or so (give her food and water of course). This will give the flock a chance to meet her but not go nuts on her. Then, when you're ready to integrate her with the flock, wait until the dead of night and put her in the coop. Chickens are more receptive to a new chicken when they see "oh, you were in here with us". Chickens are weird, but I've been doing this for 3 years and have over 60 laying hens and 65 Cornish Cross at the moment. Hope that helps!

Honestly, this will be something that your daughter will love and appreciate forever. ❤ I remember wanting a dollhouse as a little girl and my mother built me one from wood (primed, painted and all!). With the spare pieces, she also built a rocking chair for the dolls as well! They were gorgeous and I told everyone I could about them. They were part of my best memories of my childhood! I grew up with a dad whod make things for our house growing up he was a construction business owner. I loved his work but i wish i had appreciated it more. Now he lives far away and i miss it. These are the things your daughter will always remember and trust me she will tell everyone about how her dad made her the best bed ever.
My girls need new beds too, unfortunately I don't have the tools to undertake a project like this. Looks absolutely amazing... Well done.

I wasn't gonna comment this but the instant I saw your idea of putting Thor's paw on the bed, I had to. I grew up without a dad, and in short, seeing healthy father and daughter relationships can be really bittersweet, sometimes more bitter. But this video, gave me nothing but the sweet side of seeing that loving relationship. Thank you for being an example of that for all of us to see, it is truly heart warming. I wanted to say this because I also have a dog, whose name is Molly that I would quite literally go to the ends of the Earth for. She's getting old now, and it will soon be time to say see you soon, but if I got a little momento like that of my pupper in a literal handmade project? Dude... My dad build me a bed that hung from the ceiling and attached to.the wall on one side. Ladders at the end and a desk underneath and wardrobe at the back or pillow end. Bookshelves and lights. It was amazing. I struggle to change a plug. To be this talented. And the paw print made me emotional looking at my almost 14 year old boy. Lucky daughter, awesome dad, amazing bed

I bought my bedroom furniture from someone who had recently lost their Great Grandmother and it was in storage. Her husband made the furniture for her in 1930 and carved the beautiful designs. It’s in perfect condition. I couldn’t believe they wanted to get rid of it. I think the bed you made is priceless ❤
