HyperX Haste 2 Review (Unfortunately had issues with the wireless)
So a little bit sad as I really like these mice, but unfortunately had issues on the wireless, even to the point the mouse isn't even tracking at all anymore. Or it tracks for a brief moment, then goes dead again. That was after firmware update, hoping for another to fix it.
I've had these mice for months though, so I'd caution anyone before buying or updating them ... seems it might take the HyperX team a while longer to get them right. I need to get these videos out though so couldn't wait much longer.
Lots to like about the mice, but just need firmware fix, so stay tuned.
And to clarify, I gave up on the previous HyperX Haste Wireless because I couldn't prove it wasn't just my copy and I was getting pretty burnt out at that point, so figured it was fine because no one else seemed to be having the problems. Now with these new mice, I'm wondering if these issues have been around since then.

Excelent review. You are the best mouse reviewer out there. Glad to se you around again
always happy to see a video on this channel. Also I really enjoy your style of quake, I would honestly be fine with just watching you play quake without needing a mouse review lol
I bought the wired pulsefire haste after watching your review and doing my hand measurement test on your website, its been around 2 months since and i'm loving it. As always thanks for the detailed review
my hands are about 18.5 cm....is the mouse any good for my palm grip ?? i am currently using g402 hyperion.....and want to switch to this one.
how is it after 8 months now, im thinking about buying it
@@LONEWOLF-nf8fn i think its decent at 18.5
@@Amiyn same question i just order it how its fell is good?
@@cosmingv just got mine yesterday, ITS SO GOOOD
I LOVE the Haste wired. I love it so much that I went out and bought the wireless haste and unfortunately I had the same tracking problems that you described. It also had an issue where the DPI settings would drop randomly. It could be fixed by quickly cyclling through the DPI settings but that's an absurd issue to deal with while in the middle of playing. I saw a good amount of posts on reddit stating that they had the same issues but there didn't seem to be a fix. Luckily I was able to return it. Sad to see this is still a thing because the mouse itself is really great.
Just got the wired one, hope they fix the wireless because this thing is nice.
i am planning to get the wired one but the reviews all say it has issue of disconnecting and wire frays at mouse joint ? Is that true ? How is your experience with wired version ?
@@Little-bird-told-me I've had mine over a year and I haven't had any issues like that. IDK if there's any difference between the haste 1 & 2 but haste 1 has been totally fine for me.
so should i get the wired one as well? i wanted the lamzu but its very expensive and hard to get in my country
@@fiendishshape thanks.
Hi RJN, have you considered adding a symetry metric to your reviews? What I mean by that is specifically is at 0:56 you said the bump is to far to the front but for me it looks to far to the back since I like it to be to the front. So it would be cool to see how far the mouse's peak is from the tail or what the angle is between the left and right mouse buttons because some mice, like the G403 hero for example, have a significant slope from left to the right side of the mouse.
Thanks. Best mouse reviewer. Period.
Dope review! Waiting for lamzu )) I have two haste 1 wired, cause of your review. Shape is really good (would be nice to have mini version 😂). Only big con for me is dpi deviation between copies (and other mice as well), hard to maintain consistent settings.
is some new lamzu mouse coming? other then a atlantis refresh?
I came, I saw, I liked, long live RJN!
Appreciated, thanks!
u r the best bro!!!
Glad you think so, thanks!

One thousandth like! Congrats!! (No, I’m not a bot, just congratulating him for getting 1k likes)
Love your reviews. Any chance we're getting lamzu atlantis mini or pulsar x2 mini reviews from you?
Lamzu, yes, done the testing, just have to make the vid. Pulsar haven't looked at yet, but some day!
Unrelated to the Haste 2 WL, but my Kone Pro Air did the same thing after I updated the firmware, very odd
Will there be a Lamzu Thorn review coming out from yourself? :)
I Just got the haste wireless and was extremely impressed with how the ergonomics of the mouse. It was basically perfect for my hand. All the buttons felt good but sadly I had the same tracking issues. It was so disappointing. Now I'm running the SteelSeries Aerox 3 wireless. It's a pretty good mouse, and the sensor is fantastic. But the ergonomics are nowhere near as good as the haste
Hey Is the issue fixed I’m looking to buy a new wireless mice with a budget of 90$ this mice took my attention but I don’t really know what to do because of the issues you mentioned
What a shame. Haste wired was my longest standing main, was hoping to upgrade to the Haste 2 wireless but it seems the issues still haven't been fixed.
Haste 2 wireless isn't an upgrade you kinda lose the 8k polling rate
@@ambasing69 I was talking about the original haste wired, the one that uses a 3335 and has holes.
@@redprotocol9223 yeah but if you’re gonna choose the wireless over the wired you’re gonna sacrifice the 8k polling rate
I have had no issues with the haste 2 wired. On a side note, I heard that the 2nd batches are better on both models
has the second batch came out of amazon or only the actuall website cuz im looking to buy it today
@@k1tkxt717 I think they are in the retail stores like best buy. I wouldn't trust amazon all the time
How to find out if is the 2nd batch?
@@DaBoxGhost84 i got my haste 2 WIRED off amazon and it has worked fine no issues and no software issues.
Do you think there will be a new G Pro X Superlight / a new mouse comparable to it soon?
I have a wired haste 1 and it's still going strong after 2 years, had a wireless haste 1 bricked the scroll wheel with a firmware update. Haste 2 as secondary now and not sure I prefer these new switches.
Zy, do you think having multiple mice can make your computer run slower, or if multiple wireless mince on at the same time would affect the performance? I think this would be a cool video idea you could make with your slow mo rig.
I think you can overload the USB on your motherboard, but haven't looked into it much as I'm running media PCs to edit 4k footage (beasts), but yeah I'll keep it in mind and ask around.
The answer is probably more or less: provided you have a computer from the past decade, not noticeably. Mouse software will however be a factor, especially if it takes up more processing if it detects a mouse of the same brand.
i´ve updated mine and it seems just fine. but i have to admit i didnt realize any jumps anyways.
I haven't updated the firmware yet but it seems some people are experiencing random DPI changes ex. From 1600 suddenly going to 400 or higher. Personally, I haven't experienced it yet but I would like to ask if you did experience this kind of issue with the mouse (the mouse "bricking" you mentioned is a new one to me and I'm kind of afraid updating mine).
I own this mouse and i have been using it for a few months and yes the randomly going to 400 dpi is so annoying. im pretty sure its the firmware to blame so if i was you i wouldnt upgrade the firmware.
also when it comes to the mouse just bricking after firmware update ive had it happen luckily they sent me another mouse but if you are able to get your money back i would recommended a different mouse
@@woke5367 In case your mouse updated the firmware, you can install older versions via their website :) I had some problems with the newer firmware, downgraded it via the site and everything is smooth! Best feeling mouse ever for me
@@woke5367 Does this happen with a wireless mouse?

What do you think about the mm712 i bought the mm710 thanks to your review and I’ve had it for quit a long time

Zy, are you gonna review lamzu mouses anytime soon?
Should i change from the viper 8khz to the haste 2 wired? Was tempted with the reduced weight of the haste 2
Yes u should I think ✌️ I also bought haste 2 wired bc of light weight better sensor ( I think not sure) ✨ if u have money u can and should
@@GGxNEEL Thanks just got my haste 2 wired today and I loved everything about it except the software. Now my razer viper 8khz feels like a brick 😂
I have first haste and on any flick it just freezes, and tech support didn't work for my country so I've just lost on it 75$ or what it was in that time, also there was some problems with firmware update and their software, sometimes it didn't even see mouse, actual dpi is higher than any other mice that i have, and rgb isn't working properly, to check last one try to set blue color. Razer viper ultimate way better than haste but it has problems with scroll wheel doing some weird things and weight, still waiting for a wireless viper with charging station and weight less than 60g. Forgot to mention ive bought haste three times because two of them first revision and build quality was awful on first it was too squeaky and on second lmb got stuck on the body, third one a bit squeaky but only if you press on top and then on sides but still much better than first one's.
I've had my HyperX haste 2 for 5 months. I love it but two weeks ago the scroll wheel started failing. Not it's at the point where scrolling down will scroll hard up and jitter all over. HyperX warranty is sending a replacement but from what I've seen online this is a common issue. Hope it won't happen again.. My HyperX haste 1 had the common wire disconnect failure so so far longevity of HyperX mice is not good.
Im on my 3rd haste 2 because of the same issue. 1st one lasted 2 months before the issues was unbearable. 2nd lasted 6 weeks. 3rd one and im seeing the issue after 2 days. I dont understand how this scroll issue is a thing and happens to quickly.
@@Smokeyd187 That is disappointing. I love the shape of the mouse and pretty much everything about it. Shame they don't last long.
Hi, having Haste 2 wireless and started to feel a similar issue, but not so obvious yet. When I'm scrolling down or up, it sometimes feels like the screen goes in the opposite direction for a second. I thought that I accidentally turning the wheel in the opposite direction, but I don't have such issues with the other mice. How did you explained that to HyperX support and did they suggest a replacement or send you a brand new copy?
@@user-di6og5fm9o Nah hyper x knows about the issue but theyll tell you to do bullshit that doesnt make sense for the issue like unplugged it and plug it back in, restore default settings by clicking in the DPI and mouse wheel buttons etc. Just say you did all that and it didnt fix it. Then they asked for proof of purchase. Thats as far as i got because i got mine through amazon so they told me to contact amazon. Amazon just got me to send the first one in, then i had the option of refund or replacement so i got a refund. 2nd time Amazon just instantly refunded me and i kept the mouse. 3rd one i havent got replaced or refunded yet because the issue isnt major and im waiting for a G303 to arrive before i go through the process again lol
My pulsefire hastes have had low lifespans. I've had three that have lasted ~8 months each before broken scrollwheel and sensor skipping
the original or haste 2?
@@FieldDay8 At this comment being 9 months old, I can't really remember, but I've moved on to newer mice. This is still a very good budget option, and if you can get it for around $40, it's basically a steal even if it does only last a year.
Review for the Vaxee XE Wireless?? 👀
I received the wireless version and the wireless worked for 2 days and crapped itself.
got the haste 2 wired (2nd batch) 0 issues whatsoever
Wait till you start having the scroll wheel issues lol im on my 3rd Haste 2 and about to give up on Hyper X mouses for good! Sucks because i really like the mouse
Have they fixed the issues yet? I hope to see a review of the mini.
Haven't heard anything from them, so I'm guessing not ... unless they forgot.
I bought the wired Haste 2 thankfully. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Could anyone tell me that is the shape similar like Logitech G403? Currently using G403, looking for a similar "bumpy" shape like G403.
I wouldn't want a wireless mouse for gaming anyway. I'm bad enough without potential lag. I have the Haste 1 and I love it. I replaced my Skytech M-1000 mouse and K-870 with Alloy Elite 2 and Pulsfire Haste.
I experience the exact same problem in the wireless
The big question is: what mouse Zy use?
The one I designed the shell for, of course ... Xtrfy MZ1 Wireless!
@@RocketJumpNinja wanted to buy MZ1 Wireless cause it's the best shape for me (fingertip grip) but double-clicking issues were reported quite often recently so I'm now weighing the risks
could you tell me how to activate 8khz, 4khz and 2khz?
i bought this wired mouse after 3-4 months scroll start not working properly all the time when i scroll up he goes down
oh boy
my haste 2 wired scroll wheel just started bugging out and scrolling backwards when scrolling upwards right as i was watching this video, hope the replacement doesnt break

Same issue here. I have a replacement on the way. Did your replacement have any issues?
@@PopsiccDesigns It will. Im on my 3rd Haste 2 within 3 months. Current one is 2 days old and its already showing signs of the scroll wheel issue and ive barely used it
I had problems with haste, random freezes, firmware update doesnt work for me
FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO BUY: This mouse is extremely good. HOWEVER, I would not recommend buying it. While the mouse is extremely good, there are so many issues with it that it’s simply not reliable. The software can bug out, the build quality is all over the place sometimes, after a few months of use, issues can arise. E.g: not worth it if you’re looking for a reliable mouse that’ll last many years. I recommend just going for a lamzu mouse, they are the best mouses out on the market right now and not too much more expensive.
how do you like viper v2 pro
its a very good mouse, and you can have high polling rate with the dongle @@darkname6945

Any words on the wireless issue yet? I really think this I would like this mouse.
Haven't heard from them, so either they forgot or haven't fixed it.
hello zy, I have a question; if you can answer it, please. Since I'm buying my first mouse, I want to know what's better, the Pulsfire Haste 2 or the Viper Mini (hand size 19x9.5cm, grip type fingertip, because I've never experienced a big mouse and I'm a wrist aimer). The only brand of mouse I've experienced is my current mouse, the Logitech B110.
I recommend going to a store and testing out mouses of similar size, I know the pulsefire haste 2 will fit well on your hand tho
@@Trabsol thank you very much for the answer, there is no haste 2 wired at the store next to me, I will just order it online, the only thing that stops me from buying it is the dpi deviation that I've heard of and the fact that it's hard to click on it

What issues did you have with the original haste wireless? I've been using mine for the past year and havent noticed anything major.
It might have been the wireless interference issue ... so if you have a wireless keyboard and headset like I do, it would just kinda stop tracking for a brief moment randomly. Any other wireless devices on your setup?

Is the Logi G Superlight still a good mouse or outdated? Is the Wireless of this version better when it gets updated?
Logitech were the first to get amazing wireless for their mice, HyperX still isn't there even all these years later ... that's not having a go at HyperX, it's just I think we take it for granted these days just how amazing Logitech and other brands have been with this stuff.
