【DIY】How to make 1:150 micro RC Car

I modified the TOMYTEC "THE Car Collection" 1/150 TOYOTA CROWN to work with a remote control.
The car is controlled by a self-made infrared remote control.
The remote control format is proprietary.
The battery installed in the car is a lithium polymer battery(3.7V 40mAh).
I used motors by removing weights of the vibration motors.
In order to write the program of the microcontroller(ATtiny1616) used on the car, you need ATMEL STUDIO 7 or later and a device that can use UPDI.
I use MPLAB PICkit 4. AVRISP mkII cannot be used.

  • I remember when I was a little kid in the early 90's, I used to day-dream about an RC car the size of a Hot Wheels car. My dad was an RC and electronics hobbyist. I remember him explaining why such a thing wasn't possible, mostly the batteries. He tried anyway, using capacitors instead of batteries. It didn't work well. Now, hobbyists can do what was impossible for even large toy manufacturers just a few decades ago. Lipo batteries and microcontrollers have enabled some pretty awesome things!

    • Technology has really advanced since the 90's & swiftly advancing 2day. Think back 2 the 90's when they had the "Beeper" or "Pager" just a small device no bigger than a pack of Marlboro cigarettes. Now there r phones📱 thinner than 10 sheets of notebook paper. A mass majority of the impossible is being made possible. My father once said 2 me on a fishing🎣 trip when I was waist high, "It's Power in [knowing], but it's destruction in [knowing] more"!

If I attempted the same the length would be off by 1mm and the bases would be at an angle. Useless. Please tell us that before glue dry you have to measure and align everything. Pulled it apart out of curiosity, and while I was only about 7, so my sense of scale might be a bit off - I am.90% certain that the finished car in this video, is smaller that one of the through-hole capacitors in my childhood RC car.
