Mexican warrior Oscar Valdez will face Australian former world title challenger Liam Wilson in a special 10-round junior lightweight attraction on Friday, March 29 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Valdez, making his seventh appearance in the Grand Canyon State, joins Wilson in seeking redemption in the arena that hosted their last defeats.
In the co-feature, WBC/WBA/Ring Magazine champion Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada and WBO/IBF ruler Yokasta Valle collide in a highly anticipated showdown for the undisputed minimumweight crown. The prolonged war of words between the two world champs will culminate in a milestone 12-round fight presented in association with Golden Boy Promotions and MarvNation Promotions.

Won his first world belt in 94, fought old legends like Julio Cesar Chavez and Pernell Whitaker, and faced prime warriors like Trinidad, Quartay, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins. Even after he came back from retirement he fought a prime Mayweather and Pacquiao! The Golden Boy truly lived up to his name.

    • Not even close. Oscar would get better. He had a long prime. Mid 90s to 2004. Still was a top fighter until the night he fought Pacquiao where he was drained and a walking skeleton. Oscar was in his prime most of his career but when that happens usually the ending is very sudden and abrupt. Nobody expected Pac to do that. Oscar was done before the fight started.

  • Jeff Mayweather moved to his left the entire fight never circling to the right. I’m surprised he didn’t get dizzy!😵‍💫 And I know that he was probably trying to avoid Oscar’s left hook which was inevitable. But you have to switch it up sometimes. Hands were entirely too low with barely any head movement. He was a sitting duck for Oscar De La Hoya’s over hand right all night.

  • DLH would be a problem for any fighter from any era in his prime. Had those hands, mean streak, jaw and was built perfectly. Could box or fight it out. Very quick and a great finisher. This wasn't his prime mind you. Only 4 fights in and still a cake walk. He was always his best when he got that strong jab going.
