    • @oliver5479 it's OK not to comment if you don't know anything about boxing. No one would judge you. Now you look like every other ignorant person talking on subjects that they have 0 clue about. Mike Tyson had the best head movement in boxing. He had one of the quickest and strongest counter punches. His decline was when he tried to intimidate fighters by absorbing their punches instead of relying on his head movement and counter punching. Same can be said about Ali in his later years. Ali tried to box more like Frazier than himself.

    • Wilder has been filmed lifting & he obviously has fitness coaches. I believe he is an extreme example of what I shall bequeath as "Cartoon Tasmanian Devil" syndrome. You can see tons of big guys who have no calves-& that tends to be genetic. What is unusual especially for a 6'7" modern HW is he has no lower body! His lower legs are listed at 14"-small for any modern HW< but Evander Holyfield was listed at 13". But his upper legs were a 22"-still not big but the gap between upper & lower tends to be 2/3-like Tyson at 18"/27"... Wilder is listed as an 18" thigh! 😮😮 I have never *seen* a HW listed that small. I mean you likely would have to go back to when HWs actually could weigh as much as a modern rehydrated MW to get a measurement like that-maybe Bob Fitzsimmons? I mean longer things look thinner, but if 18" is accurate-that is more like a Supermodel lol!

  • Parker was effective by closing the gap so that Wilder couldn't throw his signature shots. Parker also landed enough of his own shots within that shorter distance to give Wilder enough problems that he couldn't get his own fight going. It will be really hard for Wilder going forward, Fury showed he could be beaten, Parker just reinforced that idea with this defeat. Anyone he fights from here out not only has the confidence they can win, but also can see the fight plan to do so. It seems if an opponent can pressure Wilder and hit him consistently, he has little to offer. Previously fighters tended to stand off, being scared of the big KO punch, but giving him distance is exactly what Wilder needs to land his big punch.

  • I just watched a KZhead documentary on Roberto Duran. What struck me is that he was fighting almost monthly for years as either the champ or when he was on the come up. Guys like Wilder don't fight but once a year, if that. The reason he's a slopped boxer is because he simply lacks reps in the ring.

    • Excuses a juvenile would make . He is a spent cartridge . Due to this one sided showing , the Joshua fight wont take place now. Wilder no longer thrills or has any edge . He had the stuffing knocked out of him by Fury. Three wars in short order took it out of him. Looks like Parker may fight Joshua again. When they fought , Joshua could not put a dent in Parker or slow him down. It was a very narrow points win by Joshua . The judge had a part in it too, whenever Parker went in close the judge stepped in and seperated them again and as a result it was not a free flowing fight and it was always interrupted by the ref. Very frustrating to watch and it must have been even more frustrating for Parker who was no allowed by the ref to get his own game plane off to fight Joshua on the inside since he was the shorter smaller man .

    • I’m beginning to think Tyson Fury isn’t half as good as we all grew to believe he was by the end of the Fury-Wilder trilogy. Who has Fury fought that would compare favourably with Heavyweight greats from history? Klitschko is really the only one, and he was at the end of a very long career, 15 years after he won his first world title. I used to be a Fury fan, so I’m def not a hater. But Klitschko fought defended against tougher opponents and for much longer. Only reason Fury got so much admiration is recency-bias. Give it a decade and I don’t think Fury will rank highly amongst the greats.

  • Tall with reach isn't always an advantage in boxing. In several of Wilder's matches, you can see that his arm has to move a long ways to get to full extension, and crafty opponents can use that time to slip, get closer, and fight in a cage where Wilder can't do a whole lot. It takes equally as long to get those long arms back for defense as well. Milliseconds and millimeters make a big difference in boxing.
