I have a 2005 Mustang GT with 140,000 miles on it and a 5 speed manual. The only issues we had with it was the speedometer went out at about 120,000 miles and the throttle body had issues at 135,000 miles. Those were the only issues it’s ever had since it was purchased in 2009 with 30,000 miles on it. It still has the original clutch too and there’s no sign of slippage. It’s been a great car.
I always loved the second gen Camaros. I learned how to drive in a 3rd gen Camaro and got my license using that. I been able to take care of it well with your advice too so thank you for the educational videos!
I'm a gm guy and love camaros , but the fastback 70 ford mach 1 mustang with the rear window spoiler is one the best looking cars ever !
I'm also a Camaro guy, have owned 3 different gens, and I have to agree...the '70 Mach 1 is a beauty of a muscle car.
I know more people like those but to me that fastback are the worst looking Mustangs besides the Mustang II's. As I've always called them a sunroof on the trunk. I bought my 1st GT Mustang at 17 in 1984 cash coupe. Because I hate a hatchback a sports car needs a trunk. But I owned a 2001 Tran Am LS1/T-56 and totaled it when someone came head on into my lane. So instead of paying $5000 to fix it I dropped a cam/heads/lifter etc upgrade into my 1993 Chevy S10. Upgraded the suspension and rear end as well as anti-sway bars and caltracs where I do street race Mustangs/Chargers and Camaros. If they are stock I can beat some with more hp 0-130 mph.
I'm a Ford guy thru and thru but I love Challengers,Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes,Vipers, and Ford GTs. USA all the way baby.
Im a GM guy as well. Owner of a mullet machine 1988 IROC but the 69 Mach I and 69 Boss 429 are the most beautiful cars ever made imo. Body lines, big wide open grille, rear window louvres, spoiler, striping, the old magnum 500 rims....if only Ford and Shelby had agreed to use Shelby's innovative suspension designs from the Green Hornet and other experimental projects in the late 60s imagine the leaps and bounds Ford would've made back then?

Both are truly gorgeous legendary machines. The fact the zl1 beat a mclaren around a track is bonkers. Idk if the gt500 did the same but wouldn’t doubt it.
A 2007 GT500 beat an M6 on a track, so I would say that’s also bonkers

2019 GT is my first and probably last Mustang. I cannot imagine ever parting with it. I have owned more than 6 Camaros.
Funny I've owned 4 mustangs including a shelby gt350 and I'd never own another mustang after owning a camaro. Camaros taken it to another level in this new 6th generation. The mustang feels cheap and like a regular car the camaro actually feels like a sports car. Ntm I blow mustangs doors off with the new lt1 motor with a simple cam intake and a tune.
@@mr.eastcoastgrow6132 I agree with this statement. It may not be the case all the time, but when I went out with a buddy to test drive a Firebird TA, Camaro SS, and Mustang GT, the Mustang was definitely cheaper with it's materials used. The interior had flappy plastic while the chevy/pontiac felt more durable and had good cloth/stitchwork. You pay a little extra for GM in my opinion, for the quality.

I have a 2017 FIFTY Camaro purchased new and I am still very happy with the car. I love the styling, the 335 HP of the V6 , the fuel economy using regular and the 8 spd smooth transmission. It is definitely a sports car with little back seat room and challenging visibility at times, but no car is perfect. I love the way the car drives and sounds and keeps me young at 72!
I love my 2011 3.7 Mustang convertible. 30mpgs, 305hp, 0-60 is better than the competition, safe, and short braking distance from 60 to 0. It handles great too. Gauges look awesome too. One thing I hated about the Camaro in the same gen, was the gauges by the stick. Also the dash. But to each their own.

When ford did the retro-styling on those those 2005 & up mustangs they were so stunning to look. As a kid, I couldn't help but stare at those as long as they were in my line of sight lol. and now they took a million steps back from that iconic, classic retro-styling. Now they just look like a foxier ford fusion. A lot more generic instead of iconic. Not saying its ugly, but there's nothing special, or muscle about the styling anymore, and that mustang presence is gone, Don't really care when those new ones pass by, but I'll stop & look if its the older ones from 05 & up or a challenger lol.

I have an 01 gt. I am a big fan of the new edge mustangs. Parts are generally affordable, I don't think they are overly complicated and relatively easy to work on. I am in the process of building a supercharged motor for mine and it has been a pleasant experience overall.
How did the project go?
As usual, great video! Thanks! Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned but I prefer the '67-'69 generation camaro most of all. The simple design and nice clean lines draw me to it. The newer Camaro may be much faster icons of modern technology but the original vehicle possesses all the charm and character--at least for me. Of course, beauty and preference is all in the eye of the beholder. I've never been a big Mustang fan but I certainly value the incredible history of these vehicles. I think both cars are wonderful representations of American automotive history.
They used that model line when they relaunch the Camaros in 2010. They continue with that lines until 2014, then they switched to the new cadillac platform on 2015, but not as good looking . The best years for me are the 2012 - 2014, great looking as the 67-69, but better engine and technology, and the handling is way , way better.
I have a 2010 Camaro LT with a V6. I’ve never had a problem with it. Love how it looks and drives. I store it every winter as I live in Canada. Always look forward to taking it out when winter is over
Hahaha I had a 2013 lt V6 and bought winter rims and blizzaks. Sudbury Ontario! That thing is a beast in the winter. No sand bags needed it performed better than all my 4 cylinder fwd cars. And drifting was a blast! All the best:)

Ya damn Chinese transmissions... big oof from Ford on that decision. 400hp V8 and they cheap out on that? Derp. I'll still buy one tho. When it breaks I'll buy better parts to rebuild it with. I'm sure they exist by now.

I thought I clicked the wrong video, the voice was way too calming! Thanks for the great info.
Lol i thought the same
Scotty, i tested a 2020 Shelby 350 over the weekend, the car is a beast!!! Love the mustang and feel that they are the true American sports car. The camaro is nice but the mustangs are ICONIC and if you can do another video for us test driving the 2020 Shelby 350 or the 500, please do.
Thanks for the car history between the Stang and the Maro, that was very informational. I love the sound of a mustang it's very distinctive. I currently own '13 chevy camaro ls and love it! Much love to the pony club 😁
I like this review. I like the drive train on the Camaro's swapped into a 1st gen S10 extended cab as a sleeper.
Love these documentary stile videos from Scotty keep it up brother
Good evening Scotty thank you for the valuable info!
evening!
My favorite all arounder is a 6th gen SS 1LE. It’s comfortable enough to daily because of magnetic ride, plenty of power, and is a track monster.
Vouch
I had an 86 SVO that I drove the wheels off of. Great car. I didn’t have a chance at another one until I picked up a 2016 GT performance pack car. Incredible brakes, saddle interior, guard metallic color. It is a pleasure to drive.
Good evening, Scotty! Hope you are enjoying Tennessee.
evening and yes so far, thanks!
I would love to go back to TN and not just pass through like last time. Hope y’all aren’t getting too much rain.
@@Huskers-yo9yl The rain has been quite abundant here in West TN. I’m not sure about further East.
@Andy Candy I don’t see any overly intimate comments literally anywhere. I think you’re mistaken.
@@BlueBird_V looks like you're about outta milk...
Love my 2017 Camaro. 33k, daily driver since new.
You Always the best I love all your videos thank you for all your great videos
My first car was a 1969 Red/Black Top GTO with a 400 ci/4 barrel carb, really fun for it's day! My first Camaro was a 2000 I bought in 2003 sold it in 2018. Absolutely the most reliable car I've ever owned. In 15 years and 140k miles, other than normal maintenance, I replace the catalytic converter and one emissions part, everything else was still original including the water pump, alternator, radiator, etc. Now I drive a beautiful 2018 Blue metallic Camaro SS II with white stripping and black enabled wheels. Love it! And since I am now retired, I'm not putting much mileage on it (only 30k in five years, also ride a motorcycle) so I plan to take good care of this beauty. What I really like about these muscles cars is everything is heavy duty build to take a beating on the track. They are fun to drive, and good looking too. Thanks for this video Scotty!
Scotty thanks for this wonderful review of two iconic name plates. Camaro and Mustang symbols of Detroit timely ingenuity. This is a really great video thanks again.
1970 Mustang Sportsroof 351-C was a very good model. The 351 Cleveland engine had massive cylinder heads and would breath !
Yeah the cleveland was a beast in its day .
I bought a 2018 Mustang Ecoboost Premium Convertible in 2020 and I LOVE IT!!!!!
In terms of styling, I’d have to go with Ford. In terms of reliability, ease of repair, and cost of parts I’d have to go with Chevrolet.
What about handling??
For all 3, Id go with the camaro
@@lkerzgrl24 If you've ever gotten to handle a ZL1, or even the SS the thing was made for racing without modification. It's track ready from the dealership. Now, both cars premium models I'm sure handle quite well, but the edge does go to a ZL1 if you want to race on a track.
@@Adel-sj4ue Chevy hands down
Chevrolet is not as reliable as Ford, but if I had to buy a 2017 year car from either, I would buy a Camaro.
'19 camaro owner. Thank you for a wonderful video.
'19 mustang owner. Thank you for being slower.
@@JamesC00 ‘19 crowd. Thank you for not running into me

I own a 68 302 c.I Mustang coupe. Love it. Built it piece by piece, all oem parts. 5.0 liter 4 barrel, dual exhaust with functional side pipes
Mustang all day, especially the Shelby family
Mustangs are the first but really not the best
and svt, they should have kept that name too.
Scotty I love when you get technical+
Excellent video, love the history of these two car. Great job.
I have a 1982 GT T-top, '95 GT and an "07 convertible. In the past I have owned a '65 coupe, '66 fastback, '67 convertible and a '68 coupe. The immaculate '82 GT gets more attention than any of them!
Mustang. Also...LOVE your educational videos...they are better than regular TV. Keep them coming Scotty!!!
I recently got a 2015 Camaro SS (2SS trim level), I love it. Barely over 16k miles, such a pleasure to drive and looks so sharp.
Got a 2015 Camaro SS and I couldn’t be happier! Still going at 76k miles when I got her at 28k. Stock however no mods other then an intake.
Nice!
Did the intake help?
I almost always leave my vehicles stock as well. I do the intake, and exhaust. If I’m feeling ballsy I’ll do headers and a custom tune but that’s as far as I’m willing to go so I’m not sacrificing reliability
@@fredbear5343 yes! Based on a dyno I gained 10hp with a CAI intake
It’s good to hear you were very intelligent
My pick of the favorite goes back and forth depending on the generation but if I had to pick one and only one it would certainly be 68 Camaro SS
absolutely!!!!
69 RS/SS
@@rus19297 My first thought too.
I had a 67 RS/SS totally agree!
@scottykilmer An excellent, interesting post. We appreciate the work yoy out into these informational videos. Thank You.
Thank you for showing us I have a 2019 mustang gt pp2 and love it
