  • Anna, from the very start of the Chateau journey I have been in total awe of the amount of time and skill you have put into the decoration of each room. Now you have the new online venture in hand it's definitely time to 'rest on your laurels' and enjoy some 'me time'. Perhaps also put a padlock on your box of scissors 🤭

  • I love the humor of the banter between everyone. Anna, sorry about your scissors. I’m glad you made the decision to give the plaster, sanding, painting to someone else. Maxime will do a good job while you work on your business and design the wallpaper. The rooms are looking wonderful, and Philipp, you get an A for effort. xx

  • Anna! There shouldn't be any shame or guilt involved in hiring help. The both of you have put in an insurmountable amount of work into your beautiful home, and hiring someone to accomplish this even further is only another step into finishing the project. The skills and eye of you and Phillip aren't to be questioned, you do incredible work.

  • I don’t know what all of us “viewers will do when you finish these stunning renovations”. There is much more than the renovations that bring us joy; it is your sense of humour, the fun you both have with each other and your support people. It puts a little bit more light into my life as I am sure it does so many others. I love your channel so thank you from the bottom of my heart. :) 😊❤

  • I wanted to do the painting in my renovation to save money and because I had done so much of it I thought I could be just as fast and efficient. Not even close, my contractor talked me out of it and it was a good thing because when my drywall plaster guys got in there and finished it and then the painters came in and finished the painting it was far quicker and superior to anything I could have ever done myself and with the help of my family members. Professional workmanship when done correctly is priceless!!!!

  • I think it was long overdue to seek for more help. I always thought your muscles must hurt like hell and you probably have troubles with tendonitis. Anna you are such a great artist - you should have more time for doing what you love like painting murals, making tiles, wallpapers, perhaps working with fabric. And perhaps start a business out of your design work - I think it would flourish in no time. Good decision ❤!

They cost a fraction of human labor and are more efficient. I watch many chateau renovation channels and cannot understand the reason it is not popular in France.

They're touted to be the best, can cut through many layers, even denim seams, etc. They look very different than regular scissors. Unfortunately they don't come equipped with an alarm should people touch them without permission. 😅

  • Truth is that if you are competant, doing it yourself saves vast amounts of money, however if you do have the disposable cash, getting trades in to do the work can really move things along, like all things it's a balance, sooner its finished, sooner you can start generating revenue, but if as you suggest you have another possibly more profitable cash stream, then it makes sense to contract the work out. Good luck.

  • Just a thought: Regarding the vent pipe in the toilet area, you could box out the entire area behind bthe toilet (wall to wall) rather than just the a box around the VP and the toilet waste pipe. You can then have a shelf the whole way. OR You could even have built in shelves at high level hidden behind hinged panelled doors to have all your bathroom cleaners & spare toilet paper. This is usually a detail that is used with wall hung toilets and concealed cistern but it might work in this case! :)
