A 60-year-old woman died after being arrested for trespassing. Knoxville Tennessee Police have released more than an hour of body camera video of the arrest of Lisa Edwards. Edwards was discharged from Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on February 5, and allegedly refused to leave the property. Hospital security called the police to remove her. Video shows Edwards insisting she was unwell and needed medical attention. Responding officers did not believe her. She died the next day.
The fact that the doctors supported the false dismissal of excessive police force which might triggered her stroke is beyond disgusting.
Especially when you see the face droop on one side. That's a common stroke symptom
So lets blame the doctors now?

In this generation, that “crying” emoji just makes it seem like you’re making fun of or laughing at it, I wouldn’t suggest using that bc ppl can take it the wrong way😅
And the way they pulled her head back by her hair is disgusting also, no compassion whatsoever. R.I.P to her from the UK.

Then police took her to the van and she started to have a stroke, seeming as she was checked out by hospital staff not to long ago, and she was already faking reasons to be there and didn’t want to leave they didn’t believe her. This freaking ticks me off. My grandma just passed away a month ago from a stroke at home. If the police did this to my grandma I would have sued them for every penny they have
The hospital close to my home tried telling my mom 2 different times that her chest pain was heart burn. They even tried convincing me that she was exaggerating. She ended up needing a double bypass. I have a hard time trusting most doctors these days.
I am so sorry about your Mom. Women’s pain is statistically more ignored than men’s pain by medical professionals. It’s outrageous!!!!
My son was puking up blood and was told at the ER that sometimes people just puke blood. Turns out he had a tumor blocking 85% of his esophagus that was only discovered after we drove to another hospital 4 hours away. It's sad how many doctors seem to not care.
Doctors often discriminate based on class. Your social class, race, etc. will more often than not determine the treatment you will receive.
Sorry to hear that. All they care about is the money. It’s fuqing sad
The horrible thing is that like cops they're never held accountable. They just get to continue skirting the line of malpractice like it ain't no thang.
Their only punishment was paid leave? That is beyond horrific! Imagine if you were in her situation. Justice needs to be served.

The fact she was TELLING them she is having a stroke. Instead they treated her like an animal. Seeing this makes me RAGE. And as someone who is a nurse in training and has worked with older people. I can tell you the stroke was definitely triggered by the stress of the arrest. No matter if someone is "faking" an illness/condition or not, it should always be taken seriously and taken to a medical professional. There is no excuse her. They would be fired, sued and sent to jail for murder in my country.

@@carlo6686well, you see what happened. My friend went to the hospital for chest pains and they let him go saying that he was fine, but the next day he died of a heart attack 😭 doctors can be wrong too.
That poor woman. How alone and terrified she must’ve felt. Shame on those men. The lack of love and concern for another human, trespassing or not, is sickening.
She wasn't trespassing though, not really because she knew something was desperately wrong and the hospital didn't trust her to know her own body so consequently neither did the pd. This is so sad and makes so angry that doctors still don't believe the patient.
She is released from the hospital while stating she is still not well, so she stays at the hospital. The hospital then calls the police to remove her and the police come to remove the "dead weight" on "the lord's day" only to also disregard her repeated requests for help, and soon after she dies. The lack of empathy in this whole situation is disgusting. I hope they all get what's coming to them in a civil suit.
The hospital is liable too even more so because they did not believe the patient. That gaslighting bias transferred to the PD and the tragedy sadly continued.
They thought she was trying to get a bed for the night I’m sure they believed she was homeless rather she was or not they should have done there job this makes me angry and to see a brotha do the same and not help is even more disgusting god bless her soul

She was showing signs of symptoms of a stroke patient. Tears rolled down my face seeing this ! Even towards her end of life she got no respect or care.
Exactly what I’m feeling right now. They’re horrible! Like I can’t even put into words how disgusting they treated her! Look how that guy even pull her hair at the end? I know it’s bad but I wish them all the bad things will happen to them. I’m so mortified by this!
If this report would have been somehow described different, a lot of right wing people would have hailed the police. It's disgusting how they treated that woman.
@Blue Flash whatever strawman you've built is utterly irrelevant.
Then you realize that they probably hear stuff like this all the time
You only matter if there's a good insurance policy the doctors can bill. Otherwise, you're faking your symptoms.

So the hospital staff kicked her out and then the cops arrest her as she’s pleading for help… then when she’s passed out, dying, they shake her head around and accuse her of faking. Disgusting people all around.

I have epilepsy and I've been accused of faking it *by the same PD that shows up when I have a seizure* just because they don't like me. People get drunk on power.
Too bad. That's America for you.
Let’s all say it together - “IF YOU DONT HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE YOU CANNOT DIAGNOSE SOMEONE”
Nope. So many medical diagnoses come on the back of big pharma and a CDC that is setup so corrupt. Believe me I live around it. Now I think most 8 year olds could tell she may have needed medical attention. And I’m not saying doctors don’t know things. They do and they help a lot of people. But don’t trust people just because their certified. Do your research. Just look at those cops. They were certified.
Add to that "The Internet is NOT a reliable source of medical information." (I know many people will argue with me about that statement.)
But the people with medical degrees discharged her
@@raallen1468Add to that, where's people's common sense? And eyes, ears, sworn to protect? 🤔
If this is true then sounds like the cops shouldn't get any of the blame. If they can't diagnose someone then they can't say whether or not she was faking or having a real seizure and must follow out their orders of removing the woman from the property. A cop legally cannot ignore their duty to arrest someone when it's given as an order, unless the person is experiencing a medical emergency. So since you're saying a cop cannot tell if someone is having a medical emergency, aka a diagnosis, then according to you the cops did nothing wrong. Also, according to your logic, EMT's will not be aloud to interfere either as the average EMT does not need a degree.

She kept asking for help. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Not one of them showed any compassion. There is no excuse for what I saw.
She was showing clear signs of stroke from beginning to end. This is truly horrendous, and the officers in the video and medical staff who discharged her should face the consequences. This can't be allowed to happen. RIP 😥❤️
She was SAYING she thought she might be having a stroke, and yet they judged and sentenced her to death.
@@antoniomarcos5321 No one knows when they're having a stroke.

I blame the hospital. The police knows nothing about how to treat a patient. It's the hospital that told them there was nothing wrong with her.
They should be charged with Manslaughter.. tyrants
They treat her like criminal, screaming at her? Unbelievable. The hospital is also responsible for this situation. These both institutions contributed to the death of this patient.😢
ABSOLUTELY.
Nothing infuriates me more than public servants who behave in this way; selfish and cruel.
@a special tomato She trespassed which is minor compared to having a stroke.
@a special tomato Human life > trespassing
Yep, she knew something wasn't right but they wouldn't trust her, they wouldn't believe the patient and now she's dead.
Totally sickening. Notice how one officer pulled her by her hair in the police vehicle? That action alone speaks to the care and attention these officers felt for her well-being or that of any civilian under their care. I'm from the U.K and the police forces in the U.S make me sick with each passing day.
I'm gonna place most of the blame on the medical professionals for forcibly discharged her, when she didn't feel stable. Ultimately no one listened to her and she died.
The police in USA only have about 6 weeks training!! In many European countries they have 3-4 years!
@@MoneyStrategiesSOULutions Google begs to differ. "A 2018 Justice Department study of state and local law enforcement training academies found that the average length of core basic police training in the U.S. is 833 hours, or less than 22 weeks." - Feb 15, 2023. The problem we have is that they don't seem to be trained properly, which is quite a big issue since we pay taxes for such things..
That part sent tears, her asking for help over and over. You want a cigarette 🚬. No interest in trying to help, let alone the hospital is right there..
They treated her like utter filth on the bottom of their shoes, absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful. They need punishment immediately.
The DA should be fired, the cops should be fired and the hospital should be sued.
That's so scary. I have had strokes that look just like hers. She was killed by those officers. The only reason why they didn't truly investigate is because she didn't have anyone on her side. Heartbreaking.
I hope the hospital and police get sued. This is outrageous. Poor lady. Rest in peace Lisa. I am so sad that the world treated you so badly.
She is homeless. She has no family to look out for her.
@@evan51298 She has family. I just saw an interview with a family member, she has kids and grandkids.

@@jeremiahjackson6590 its both the police treated her like trash and kept saying she was lying about being sick

She died for the crime of being uninsured and poor. That's IT. They made false assumptions about her after she had gone to the ONE place that should have saved her life. Instead, they contributed to her death. Abominable no matter how you look at it. My heart goes out to this woman and her loved ones.
The hospital should’ve been held accountable as well as the officers!
Does anyone know how we can go about getting not only those officers charged but also the DA office? The people need to start taking charge.
This is absolutely heartbreaking 😢 her last few moments in this world being belittled and mocked. Called her a liar and let her die, cops always think they’ve “seen it all”
That's the cops for ya! Evil SOBs

me too
And for this reason I cant trust hospitals, doctors, medicine and police this world is murderous and evil
It was terrible! She even said: 'help me, I think I'm having a stroke'.
Just devastating
Well if Ms.Lisa here would have been Aunt Gemiah. Discrimination this woman was white with black officers.
Doctors and nurses that called the police on her need to lose their license and jailed along with the police officers
What medical school did these sorry officers attend? Her family should sue.
Could you imagine if that was your mother, grandmother, sister, aunt? How do you deal with the rage of watching and hearing how they speak to her in her last awake moments of life? The apathy is so cold, so heartless. I'd want more justice than paid leave!
Why do you think someone would care if it was not a family member?
Let me guess… She went to the hospital for some fake made up reason, that way she could receive meds. After that failed and they said she could leave now, she wouldn’t leave and continued to bug and harass other doctors and patients. Hospital staff called the police to remove her. Then police took her to the van and she started to have a stroke, seeming as she was checked out by hospital staff not to long ago, and she was already faking reasons to be there and didn’t want to leave they didn’t believe her. She was also probably on something. Now I don’t know all this for sure but this stuff happens a lot more than you think in hospitals and this is what happens 90% of the time ( not including having a real stroke ). So why should the hospital be held accountable? And the police I admit weren’t being very professional but you can’t blame them their job sucks, and they have probably had to do this a billion times before
@@adamblack6867 because that’s the BARE MINIMUM, to being a good person! To being a Good Samaritan, and to doing the job as a civil servant, AKA THE POLICE! If you have no humanity left, than in you definitely shouldn’t be a civil servant or working with people at all for that matter.

Why would they discharge her in the first place when she was clearly still sick?
bc of money
They said nothing wrong with her they're lies

The hospital kicks her out. The police belittle and man handle her. All within the last devastating hour of her life. She looked like she was terrified and in agony. So unbelievably sad
The fact that this happens a lot is heart breaking😭😭😭
This is beyond humiliation. Unbelievable! I hope her family takes this case on until Justice is made.
I watched the body cam footages. The amount of abuse/torture she endured is just heartbreaking 💔 😢
The pulling of her body back by her hair in the car was terrible.
Did you notice the transportation officer, Danny Dugan , spraying Lysol as they all laughed. I was especially horrified by that because she already couldn’t breathe
But you didn't see the hospital discharge her,
yes, she is a human being asking for help!! How sad that not one officer would assist her.
I think I will just take your word for it and pass on watching the body cam footages. This video makes sad and teary eyed to see it. Something about that lady reminds me of my mom who died about a year and a half ago. So watching this I can almost feel like it was my mom who was the one in a serious medical emergency asking for help from the people around her and getting none. Sad.
There was a case that occurred in July of 2022 that is way more gruesome & sadder than the death of Lisa Edwards and Abby Choi and it’s the sad death of James Rayl. The cold blooded murder of a beloved 22 year old named James Rayl. James Rayl who was 22 years old loved cars, basketballs, wealth, and changing people’s lives. The dad in his 50s who murdered James Rayl back in July 2022 must be apprehended, convicted, and must face the DP in Ohio for the awful crime. So basically the dad, daughter, and mother must be apprehended for their awful participation in murdering a beloved person to so many named James D. Rayl. James Rayl cause of death is more gruesome than any other person could imagine. At age 22, he had so much to live for.
I see Abby Choi's news has reached your shores. It's devastating. The poor woman was only 28, and she has young children. I can't imagine how anybody can explain to them what happened to their mother.
It's sad to see anyone die but James was definitely in the wrong.
Oh, baloney!! James Rayl was repeatedly warned by the family to stop trying to break into the house. He was told that the father was armed. He continued to break down the door until he gained entry. He ignored all the warnings and was shot and killed. The father will not be charged because of the "stand your ground" law. He was in the right. Rayl was the aggressor and in the wrong. That's the way the cookie crumbles!
I understand your wanting something done about James. However, your approach shouldn't be to use someone else's death like this to say others lives were MORE IMPORTANT bc that is not true!
Frankly I think being mutilated, having your body stuffed in a fridge and head boiled in a pot of soup is way more gruesome than being shot dead
Did his disgusting ass actually quote some thing the Lord said while she’s dying in pain in front of him!? That is the most foul thing I’ve witnessed in a while
This is just so sick on so many levels 😥. Nobody should ever be treated like this...
