@@AnkhArcRodthe comment might’ve been referring to serving us as in producing honey, beeswax, and pollinating our gardens? I know it’s phrased weirdly but most animals on earth are used to serve humans, so it’s not exactly wrong to think of humanity as a superior/overlord species as we are apex predators at the very top of the food chain. I understand your point though, that animals weren’t specifically meant to serve us however most end up doing so

I used to beekeep with my dad, I'd seen him scoop clumps of bees like that several times and drop them into the bee boxes, it was nice to watch but there was no way in hell I would be doing that myself, considering how inexperienced I was, I did try to do it once, and it feels kinda funny having all the bees on your hand. Also considering we didn't have beekeeper gloves and only long sleeve shirts and nets, if you stumbled upon a "not so nice" bee hive, you were gonna have a fun fun time getting your hands stung like crazy (Don't even have to grab the bees in clumps or anything, just being around them they will be sort of angry, even when smoked)

People don't realize how unimportant bees really are. The "European" and "African" honey bees are both invasive species in the Americas. The European honey bee was brought to the Americas in the 1600's and the African honey be was brought in the 1950's. Neither species is a good pollinator and there would be absolutely ZERO impact on food production if they both vanished tomorrow (other than an increase in honey prices).... The more you know...

I can handle a couple of bees buzzing around me but that many?? No way. Growing up in the inner city as kids we were terrified of yellow jackets, those mofos always act like they having a bad day, they follow you wherever you go, the more you run the faster they fly after you, we all got stung by yellow jackets, usually find them in or near the garbage cans, in the summer trying to eat garbage. So gives the bees a bad rap because they also have stingers and fly.

Bees are some of humanity's important servants. Good to see media educating people about them and not taking them for granted.
They don't serve us. Its funny how you say it like that! Bees are playing their part in the ecosystem and theirs happens to be super important for us too. I know your heart is in the right place, but the fact that we are the overlords of the Earth and every other being serves us is nailed into us from a very early stage.
*coughs* not servants *coughs x2*
@@AnkhArcRodthe comment might’ve been referring to serving us as in producing honey, beeswax, and pollinating our gardens? I know it’s phrased weirdly but most animals on earth are used to serve humans, so it’s not exactly wrong to think of humanity as a superior/overlord species as we are apex predators at the very top of the food chain. I understand your point though, that animals weren’t specifically meant to serve us however most end up doing so

@@prettyprincess8187 yeah your right honey bees aren't native to north America they are an invasive species
Fun fact honey bees are an invasive species that were brought from Europe to south and north America. They don't belong here
Not really, it's a very common misconception. There's not enough evidence to suggest we wouldn't survive without bees. They aren't the only pollinators and humans are very efficient. There are plenty of self pollinating plants and nature always evolves and adapts.

It’s the chemicals we emit when fear strikes us… animals are hyper aware and because when one is fearful, you’ll do whatever it takes to protect… animals sense that and will do WHATEVER it Takes to protect themselves from you… which in case turns into an attack or stinging from bees.
You shouldn’t be scared to handle them like that just do it carefully and they will be fine with you

Of course! If yoy don't bother them they won't sting! Although what she actually did was use a smoke pump to make the bees focus more on protecting the queen and harvesting honey. If you disturb a hive like this they will start to sting you and swarm you. Don't be fooled!
You just want to avoid messing with them on really hot days and avoid their flight paths. I learned this as a child with my dad's beehives.
