Road Swarm

I got a call that a bunch of bees were on the ground. I went to get them and discovered they'd been there for 4 days (maybe 5). I grabbed the last honey frame I had because it was June and I knew these bees were hungry and hot and tired of being in the road.
I would say these bees absconded from their colony and I'm sure a nearby beekeeper came home to find their bees had left. Bees do this when there is something wrong in their hive. They take their chances that leaving would give them a better chance of survival. In this case, the situation was dire.
I share this to show how I used the ProNuc to collect this swarm. I made a tiny bee bridge out of cardboard and they climbed right into it to get to the honey! Poor things. I brought these bees back to my apiary and I ended up giving them a queen because they didn't have one-which is probably why they were frozen in the middle of the road...nowhere to go and no reason.
