Born in 1975 to an unknown U.S. Military Father, will a DNA test find him after 49 years?
Marilyn was born and given away on the same day in 23rd January 1975. It has now been 49 years and Marilyn has always prayed that one day she will be reunited with both of her birth parents. She was told that her birth mother was a poor street vendor and her father was a US military servicemen based at the United States Navy Base at Subic Bay in the Philippines. We visted Marilyn with an Ancestry DNA kit hoping it will match her to the long-lost American Father she has never known.

Your children deserve to know this information also. With DNA the chances are much greater of finding relatives. I did a DNA test a few years ago so that I could find out more about my heritage. This story hits too close to home for me. I was born in Korea in the late 50's after the Korean War. I don't know who is my father. My mother doesn't like to talk about her past becomes a dead end. I did a DNA test, I found out I'm half Greek and half Korean. Not knowing who is my father has always been a mystery. When a child is born not knowing their parents will always be wondering who is that person?

My biological father and mother separated 65 years ago or even more. DNA kits did not exist back then when I wanted to find my father 30 years ago. I too was adopted by my stepfather. He was the most wonderful father I could have had. But wanting to know your biological father is something deep in your heart. My daughter did an Ancestry kit and the only one she found was my biological brother, who was 71 and who had had a stroke. As old as he was, I knew I would never find my biological father. I know I have three sisters, but they weren't on Ancestry. My brother wasn't even able to tell his caregiver if they are alive. I know My adoptive father loved me and I know it hurt him when I tried to find my biological father. I understand you're a deep need. I hope to find an update for you and that it worked out as you hope. My mother and adoptive father had two children together, with whom I was raised. I call them my siblings who are snakes from under a rock and haven't had contact with them since my mother died in 1991. Even when my dad died, my sister snake didn't tell me, she had my deceased mother's best friend tell me. Mom had been dead for 12 years at the time. As my mom had showed me their wills, I was not notified of dad's death by the court. So I know they lied to the court. Those snakes have no idea I have lived in another state for 23 years and I like it like that. My daughter did locate them as well - after mom's death on my daughter's first Christmas Eve (she was two weeks from her first birthday) my husband and I never once mentioned them. She was surprised until she she contacted the brother sibling snake and he wanted nothing to do with her. I hate how these relationships turned out, but I found they had hated me since dad adopted me, when I was 12, in 1969, when we returned stateside from Guam in 1969. I truly hope you have a better result. Much love and hope for you.

It’s so inhumane what they’ve done. We left the Philippines at my tender age and it pains me to see and here all the different stories about all the beautiful kids that were left behind.
