Not many people talk about it because most shops lost focus on why they started and are now dialed into how many locations can they open. My goal will never be how many locations can I open it will be how many cars can I do perfectly.
@@STATUSDETAIL I seen the click and bait trick all the time , it’s crazy that some people in this Industry still get away with hazy scratching details but have so many clients base . And quality is not there just wanna get em in and out seems But customers don’t know and still pay but are cheap.

Your initial feelings about PPF is how I found your channel and subscribed. First, I think it show growth and maturity to say that you’ve changed your mind on a subject, especially one that you were very vocal about, so tip of the hat to you. As for the rest, PPF is just like tint, lowering cars and aftermarket wheels. There are many who think you’re not living or using a car right without these things, which of course is not true. The key here is to be a decent business person and educate your customers on why they may or may not need your services and don’t do the slimy upsell. Keep up the good work sir!
I'm very good at many things and still learning many things. Happy to share my journey with you all as I figure things out. Ppf has it's place in the detailing world. But it has to be done right. Having great companies and products like Stek has really opened my eyes a lot. Having the ppf be so clear and have so little orange peel really changed my opinion! Now it's just down to figuring out the install process to status spec and then giving the customer service I am known for but within th ppf arena.
I am an enthusiast car care person all my life and passionate about the things I work on. One parallel to what is being discussed is furniture that produced by CNC machines mass production like Ikea vs hand made furniture. And of course the difference in cost between the two is vast. But when it comes to quality and longevity the hand made furniture far exceeds the mass produced CNC machine made stuff.
Interesting about the man vs machine made. Even the au art vs real human art. When you put a real person with passion behind something you usually get a little something extra 👍
Good stuff man, I definitely agree with going for your passion vs only looking through a lens of money.
I believe both routes work and have nothing against either direction as mentioned in the video. I'm just wired to follow my passion. I'd rather feel fullfiled and happy to go to work because it's fun as the reward. Instead of go to work because money is the reward. That's when it becomes "work" I haven't "worked" for 7 years. That's when this business was started.

Sounds like the PPF installers are working on the same business model as hand wash car washes. The only important aspect is the speed at which you can complete the work. You will very likely have to charge more to install correctly, but there is a market for that just like there is a market for high end detailing.
Definitely a range of ppf pricing and that sliding scale will certainly match quality of install and typically match quality of customer service before during and after installation. As I mentioned in the video I have nothing against anyone making a living and going after millions of dollars. More power to you and whatever makes you happy! I am fortunate to understand I'm most happy when I'm diving deep into my passion of high end detailing. My passion is in my effort to be the best and share my journey on social media. I'm just confident that this path has a destination that just so happens to fullfill my finical goals. Thanks for watching 🙂🙂

Its weird how much like minded stuff you are speaking lol. I run my business just like you are....I have never seen this video, and this all sounds to familiar! Im on your heals man lol! just kidding, there enough our there for everyone. Im in Central, IL about 2hrs south of you. I am growing my business like yourself. I've been detailing 20+ years, just started my own shop 3 years ago. Its not all about making money man, I like what your doing. Lets go man! keep doing it your definitely a staple in our industry!

I'm a gear head, car freak lol. Always have been! my goal is to be perfecting these beautiful high end cars like yourself as soon as I can. They seem to be leaving dealerships with more defects than brand new jeeps..... like I just finished coating today, it was almost perfect! It was also black of all colors. People who love their cars, deserve to have them perfect.

I have huge admiration to people who have pride in what they do and perfect skills! Inspiring! Still debating PPF for our new car. I do not care too much perfection in car but want to care for it. Would PPF helps cost of fixing paint damage scratches? If we do not fix rock chips and scratches in time, will car paint or steel/aluminum(?) below will degrade and cause long term issues?? Or just purely cosmetics? Thank you.
Thanks for watching! In general PPF should stop chips and reduce scratchers or prevent them. But your ppf can get chips and tonic that you will need to replace it. So pros and cons.

Just found the channel and I like what I'm seeing, this pushed me over the top. I have a lot to say about this. But I will only say one thing. Some of the most miserable, unhappy, unstable f*cks on the planet are the richest people in the world. If you're not right with yourself and don't have passion for what you do, good luck!
I see a lot of very wealthy people in my line of work. How people act in public is obviously often different than how they act in private. But many of them are very happy or at least very kind and generous to me. But what you said definitely wasn't inaccurate. Unfortunately many wealthy people are unhappy for various reasons. So what questions would you ask an installer to vet the quality of their work?
Can I see a completed car you have done. And then go check it out! If you are happy you are ready to schedule If a edge lifts will you fix it free. Do you edge cut or try and wrap every edge. Should I expect dust in the film or is I rare.
@@STATUSDETAIL What answer am I looking for to edge cut? "It is not feasible to wrap every edge, but we try to wrap every edge where possible?" Appreciate the response. Not about to drive my car halfway across the country for the Chicagoland perfection job. :D Also, wrappers removing lamps, sidemarkers, door handles... yay or nay?
@@revums Yes you can rap a lot of edges but not everything's going to be able to be wrapped it's just depends on how the panels line up and how they look. You can remove certain things on the install might be slightly better but sometimes it'll be about the same but you'll definitely pay more. Usually significantly more so it kind of becomes a question for you
