This is what I wish I can do with my IT business, but its hard to find a high end clientele in my industry. When we do voice and data wiring, I want to make sure everything to looks aesthetically pleasing, but people really don't want to pay for it, they would normally just say throw a shelf and plug it all up. Than the ones who can pay normally just bid the jobs and they normally want it immediately. My business is very tough in my state, very little loyal customer regardless of how good your job is.
Maybe try and showcase what you can do. Like in a KZhead video or shorts or reels. I'm sure there is a market for that kind of work. You might not have enough customers in your ZIP code to fulfill that business so you might need to travel but if you charge enough and the job is expensive enough then you could do it literally anywhere in the world as long as they cover the travel. Most detailers would never dream of getting a customer from out of state. And to be honest my business started out never even thinking that would be a thing. But but now it's completely normalized for my business and that's where the majority of the income of the business comes from. So you never know. I definitely encourage you to chase what you do and find the most passionate and then try and show that to the world and other people will probably find those videos and want to do business with you. @@STATUSDETAIL Hey thanks for your words. I honestly have thought a lot about starting a youtube channel, but im camera shy..LOL.. I've been in business for quite a bit, dont get me wrong I do ok, but I dont want to do ok, I want to do great, I just think NJ/NY is way too saturated, so even if you do amazing work people tend not to care since most people are just looking for cheap and there are way too many people in this state that are willing to do it cheap since most people do side hustles over here. I do have plans in the works to do move my work to other places.

It depends on your local talent. If you are in a city where there isn’t a Tailor made detailing service then forsure ship. I have clients do it all the time.
Yea some places have great local detail shops. But for what it's worth we have people shipping cars from areas that have very very good details that are very well known. They just want a status detail! But they are absolutely places that have very talented shops. I'm not the only one lol
I wish I would have done more research to get my Audi E-tron wrapped. They didn’t wrap the edges like you and it drives me crazy when I wash my car. They were supposed to do ceramic coating as well and it seems like it wore off already smh. Finding quality people is hard but I feel worth it. Lesson learned for me for sure. Love your work, wish you were closer here in California. Keep up the great work.
That very frustrating! How old is the ceramic? Many shops that don't wrap edges are doing pre cut plotter patterns. Shops like this are all about speed and volume because it's much easier and faster to install. I'd love to assist in the future if you wanted a really special car done perfectly!

@@STATUSDETAIL I just got both the PPF and ceramic done over the summer so less than 6 months ago. I can tell the ceramic isn’t working because water just sits on my car when I’m washing it, there is no breading like it should be doing. I’ll most likely do the ceramic myself when I move into a house next year. I know you are supposed to let the car sit out of the sun for two-three days to let cure.
@@RayNLA I’m sure there are, the hard part is finding them. I did a lot of research finding the shop I went to and the results still are not up to par with what I’ve now learned about both the PPF and ceramic coating.
@@barrywjr13 try using gyeon restart. Or gyeon foam. Then bathe. Then I'd spray wetcoat on. That should help revive it When you reapply go for thick coat of csl and then I'd do thick cost of exo v5. Be sure to wash at least once or twice a month if it sits outside. Use wetcoat at end of washes. The car being outside 24 hours a day can be touch. Wetcoat is a nicer barrier. Definitely avoid parking under trees

You probably made a lot of studies and tests by your self, but I mean, when where in your road to become the high end professional you are now, which steps you took to become like that? That's a great question! I am self taught for most of my knowledge. I learned a tremendous amount on KZhead. I watched many different styles and methods from various sources and detailers. Then would put that knowledge to work and develop my own process. I do very few things like other people but the core or foundation of it was from learning the traditional way then once I understood the specifics of that process I tried to find how I would want to do it and improve on it. From a PPF perspective many places offer training and I think that's a great idea for anyone that's new to it. You can definitely find paint correction classes and ceramic classes too. One of if not the most important things you need is business knowledge, sales and marketing knowledge. If you amazing but no one knows about you... Then your out of business. KZhead has everything you need to begin. The majority of my early knowledge came from the legendary Larry from AMMO NYC!!! He has amazing FREE classes on KZhead about basically all of this
