ABOUT VANITY FAIR
Arts and entertainment, business and media, politics, and world affairs-Vanity Fair’s features and exclusive videos capture the people, places, and ideas that define modern culture.
We need more of this content, the producers deserve as much spotlight as the directors and actors!
Paracelsus I’m pretty sure when a movie wins best picture the Oscar goes to the producers or something idk
The director deserves the most credit
probably has something to do with the fact that they demarcate creativity
@@nabeel.zuberi it does.
Yes!! I could watch directors talk about what goes into making their films, for hours!
The amount of effort they put into post-production is mind boggling.
The Great CooLite yeah the MCU overuses CGI imo
And still didn't get a good end product.
Braveheart_Fox what do you mean? Captain marvel made 1.1B dollars and endgame made 2 billion somethin dollars 😂
And the small amount of time they get to do these things is mind boggling too.
Ikr?! Kudos to thr vfx crew.
DC be like: "Write that down, write that down."
Marvel fanboys be like: "Let's talk about DC in the comment section of a Marvel video."
how could you say something so brave yet controversial
In that case Marvel should start taking notes on what it takes to make a compelling female hero/solo movie
Semore Butts found the crybaby
Bottlenose Dolphin How are they a crybaby? Lmao
Alonso: “I’m gonna do a construction metaphor, are you ready?” Vanity Fair graphics guys: ahhhhhhhhhhhh. fine.
Lmao actually that part was fun! Hard part was just coming up with all the metaphors for the blueprint & figuring out what she could've been talking about with the rooms/bathrooms 🤣
I just love the way these two are talking, they are so respectful and they don’t interrupt each other
Compare this to interviews with Kevin Feige and Sony's idiot Amy Pascal. Pascal interrupts, overreaches and generally pulls focus, while Feige stares into the distance in frustration.
@@electrojones Is Amy Pascal gives me weird vibes
6:09 They really blurred out Tom Holland's face since he's under Sony and not Marvel Studios lol
Think Away Films EYE-
Wth 🤣🤣🤣
It looks like they cropped out the other actors' faces too, Tom was just smaller than others so he was in the shot.
omfg hahaha
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Thank you Marvel Studios. You've been making my dreams come true for over 10 years and counting.
💯 % I can’t thank them enough. 👏🏾🔥
It all works because Feige is not a dictator and he always gives credit to the people responsible for each movie.
Yep
No wonder Marvel movies are always a great time. They spend so much time creating them.
MexeM that’s pretty much all film like this. Avatar sequels have been being written and pre planned since 2010 and it don’t come out till 2021. DCEU Zack and his team way before they even filmed MOS were planning bvs, WW, Aquaman, Flash, Zack JL trilogy and Batman solos as well as a sequel to MOS and green lantern and others. Same goes for transformers or any film with many films that they have in mind. It’s not just marvel but all studios do that.
@@TALEOFA True. That having been said, I think the difference between the winners, and the alsorans is the intent, or perceived intent. The winners want to tell an amazing and entertaining story, while the alsorans seem to have the intent of staying relevant first and telling a story second. The end product tends to tell what the story of the impetus for the movies.
lilmil nah they’re both successful. Research.
“You may have seen that parliament credit on the recent movies” Can’t say I did.
Well there's at least a chance since a lot of us sit through the credits for the last scene. ;)
💀
Vanity Fair puts out some really great content and this is a perfect example of that
i love these types of videos, because as much as i love the actors that portray our heroes, the creative team behind the scenes are the real heroes. without them we wouldn't be able to experience all these amazing movies
"This isn't about fighting wars, it's about ending them"
Why do you fight wars if not to end them ?
i remember when the CM trailer with that dialogue released and ppl started attacking brie larson for that - when she didnt write it, and it wasnt even said by her character
@@amirulasyraf1409 SANP?
@@huh4206 People don't like what she says irl not in the movie
@Caspin E thank you! I feel like everyone is so up in arms about what she said about representation, when we as audiences have been asking for the same thing in our theatres for ages! as soon as brie says the same thing we all (minorities) have been asking for, people get so offended I don't get it
This is such a brilliantly well crafted video, it needs more views.
And this is my favorite comment! :) (made the video)
Jeremy Smolik who made the video?
* injects marvel content directly into my veins *
Thats my whole life brother
Great to see how many women were involved in the production of this film.
Dann is a feminist
Dann captain feminist
lol what a weird statement. as if its such an rarity lol
havoc cipher there’s nothing wrong with that
havoc cipher itaint my fault that a female character is stronger than the male characters
Captain Marvel was my favorite since Thor Ragnarok. It left me wanting more as soon as the credits hit. I was back in the 90's and I didn;t want to leave!
Ragnarok was quite possibly the weakest and most surface level Thor film to this day. You didn't like Infinity War?
THANK YOU for this! this should be in the Captain Marvel DVD
t.duarte *captain feminist
This is what a real feminist looks like, Captain Marvel and Brie Larson. kzhead.info/sun/l7ide8Z7nGJnY6M/bejne.html
M Express oh incel please don’t cry. sorry captain marvel ruined your empty life. don’t forget to take your baby bottle and sleep tight, buddy 😘
@M Express You opinion is worth nothing. All professional critics give good review for this movie. That opinion is all matter
@@amirulasyraf1409 they gave star wars the last jedi a 91% rotten tomatoes score, so we can't always trust what the critics say, because Captain Marvel was a dogshit movie about a flawless overpowered character whose only "trait" is being female, and she uses that to act like she's superior to everyone else because of it.
Five Marvel executives decided "We should have a name for ourselves. How about the Marvel Parliament?"
I have always wanted to know how Marvel Studios does what they do. Thanks for uploading this!
It must take forEVER to make these films so well done to them
Eh, given we keep getting 3 MCU movies every year, I highly doubt it would take them forEVER. The MCU has become a McDonald of the cinema, lol.
Kratos yeah but It must take a long time for them to make one I understand what you are saying though
I love Brie as Captain Marvel. I can’t wait to see what she does in the MCU. With how powerful and fierce she is, you know it’s going to be massive
what a genuinely interesting video with 2 lovely people!
Hope the lady doesn't change the X men for no reason...
100° heat, 70° humidity? *laughs in Australian*
Laughs in Georgian and Floridian
laughs in Filipino
laughs in Chris Hemsworth
@@dirtbag_8132 I’ve been to both Georgia and Florida and yeah that’s still nothing.
Danvers, we need an assist here...
Love this insight, and detail. The MCU has collected a lot of smart people, and seems to be able to listen to them, and meld the whole process, maximize what they have, i.e. not re-inventing the wheel, and integrated new people, and new ideas into that.
ngl I almost cried at the end when she talks about her wife and daughter
Loved Captain Marvel! I really like seeing the evolution of things like this, it’s really interesting and it just goes to show you how much effort they truly put into these movies.
These are Kevin Feige trusted loyalists that makes the MCU great!
I am super interested in the Marvel Writers Program! Does anyone know any additional information about it or know where I can find something on it??
It no longer exists.
Mason Moyer that’s unfortunate:(
They dont have one anymore. Because all there movies are the same except like 4 of em. So they dont really need writers program.
Jordan Bryant But what about future stories?
They have one, it refers to hiring up and coming writing talents.
RESPECT!!! I have always been awe of the whole bts process.... This is beyond anything I thought!!
Dedication and love right there. Go Marvel!!
omg so this is the team that took part of making and creating my favorite movie! thank you, you're all amazing I love you!!!
lexie.danvers if Captain marvel is your favorite movie you have an incredibly poor taste in movies 😂
@@TheAbsloutelyGuy there are opinions u know
Your favorite movie?! Even if it's your favorite Marvel movie you have questionable taste. But hey...to each her own.
@@darcskies777 There's people that think Ragnarok and Ant-Man and the Wasp are good movies, so this ain't that bad
I loved this movie! I’m amazed that any Marvel movie gets made, and made so well.
I didn't expect this kind of lengthy vid on the VF channel but I LOOOOVED it. I really wanted to be a producer when I was doing my film degree and learning about all the responsibilities it involved was so eye-opening. Good on them. Really enjoyed Captain Marvel, I thought it was so entertaining and had a great message.
0:26 70% Humidity... That's cute :)
it's those kind of videos that make me see how important the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its stories is to everyone. Great to watch!
"Part of the journey is the end......" We love you 3000
The effort they put into post-production is so cool! It must be so tiring, so props to them!
Thanks fo much for keeping the background music to a minimum volume.
Can't wait for captain marvel 2 👌😍❤
Our girl made it to a billion and no evil troll empire was going to stop her.
so much fckin talent.... crazy
this video is so interesting, been loving vanity fairs content lately
I really want videos like this on other Marvel movies as well! It's so interesting!
This is so so so so interesting, I want more of those kind of videos!
love it! "limitation is the mother of all creation"
Vanity, thank you. This is educative and quite resourceful for upcoming filmmakers. We want more!
WOAH! I DIDN'T KNOW VICTORIA ALONSO HAS A WIFE! 😮
Hail Holy Hwasa i didn’t know that and when she said it at the end it made me so happy 😭♥️
Smh no wonder the movie sucked.

Hail Holy Hwasa I was actually legit surprised when she said that! Wow!
Loved this!
This video needs way more views!!
i still haven't seen captain marvel... will probably watch straight after this ^^
Just got my Bluray last week. It's awesome!
You can see it now on bluray and DVD with all the bonus exclusive content ;)
Who else thinks the MCU needs a documentary?
Great video id love more like this
9:02 The Marvel formula, pretty cool!
This was such an amazing insight into the process of movie making!
Love this.
I live in Louisiana. I feel you with that 100 degree weather
Como una piba argentina, tengo que decir que realmente admiro a Victoria Alonso por todo lo que logró y estoy segura que va a seguir logrando
So wholesome
Would like to know their story, how'd they get to where they are?
yeah. Louisiana heat is no joke. Sometimes the humidity here is so think you can run into it.
6:09 Why is Tom Holland's face blurred out?
Mindd Kidzag probably has something to do with Spiderman being owned by Sony if I had to guess
@@austin6224 but Tom wasn't in his suit. He wasnt even acting as Peter parker so theres no reason it should be blurred
It's so you can't read his lips because he would spoil everything 😂
because his face is one BIG spoiler XD
14:25 Says that while someone is holding their phone up lmao. Great video like always btw
Inspiring 😋
I need to know what happens in that shot they were shooting where present captain marvel was in vormir
When did they show that?
it was a screen test
5:00 At first I was like "No way they still use Cool Edit Pro" and then I realized it was stock footage.
I love this movie, I’m glad we got a deep dive in how this movie was made and came to be❤️
Well you messed up the time gap in homecoming
That was Sony and Watts screwing up
Am I the only person that actually adore Brie Larson?
No you're not and don't worry about the unhinged ranting trolls online, they don't represent the majority of people.
No. Brie has millions of adoring followers on Instagram and Twitter (myself included).
Not to mention the millions of casual MCU fans around the world who made CM a historical Billion dollar success.
no, i love her too ♥️♥️♥️
One of few. Yes
Love this content!
I love this segment in Vanity Fair I think the writers & creators deserve to be known and respected.
Honestly, Captain Marvel was boring to me, but to listen to these people explain how they make a Marvel movie is fantastic. I’m glad this video exists.
Love seeing how it gose on behide the camera
Love you 3000💕
I would really like to see the other versions of the movie. It would be really interesting.
This is so informative
At what point was it too late to add a character arc for the protagonist? I mean was it scrapped for other elements, or was it always the plan for there to be all these things that happen to the protagonist and they be pretty much un phased by it and not grow or change as a result? I know that there are some who use this as a criticism of the film in some weird ways, but I'm genuinely currious if there was at some point a bigger plan to make the lead character more dynamic and interesting but it had to be cut in favor of something else due to all the changes in the process you describe.
when they were talking about shooting in louisiana haha… welcome to the south!!
This is some great content
So glad Marvel cast an Oscar Winner for their female superhero. Brie is so stunning and badass. Her eyes alone speak volumes.
ddoojjaa How badass is Brie? I’m being serious.
I’ll take an Emmy winner who was a soap actress over an Oscar winner. Also, can Brie do something badass like these Buffy moments? kzhead.info/sun/lrikptiAaaeenIU/bejne.html
Don’t feed the concern troll above.
@@keelychow4569 Buffy is outdated garbage
Where's the bit about CGI'ing walls?
Mohammed Sirajuddin Where the CGI Chairs at ?
@MARVEL Shut up and take all my money
Sony are so petty they really blurred out Tom Holland’s face just because he’s owned by Sony and not Marvel (entirely)... bruh
Who's the blurred out person at the Comic-Con shot @6:09?
Found a clip. It's Tom Holland. Must be a Sony/Marvel thing.
Captain Marvel is delicious
16:49 but they did drop the ball in this movie, this might be the movie that foretold of the marvel fall we are living in
I need Captain marvel 2 😍
I need it now!!!
Imagine that they only have 9 months after production to add all that CGI. And a lot of that CGI we see nearly finished in trailers only a few months later
If you pause video at 6:10 you'll see a blurred face lol. This video was edited and published around contract dispute between disney and sony. Spoiler alert Tom is blurred face
Victoria Alonso is a badass and I am now in love with her.
I want to join the artists of these blockbusters.
0:56 Am I the only one that sees Kevin Feige's shirt moving?
solid end credit scene on this
You can see someone filming on there phone at 14:25 😁
In the beginning it said she has a scene of humor uhmm okay ps it was a really good movie it deserves all the great things it got love marvel
I like how the people who are normally behind the scenes are getting a bit of spotlight
So the directors don’t have a say in script? Unless they’re on board before a script is written?
lol I started crying towards the end
I’d love to see Christopher Nolan Marvel movie
