Oh my gosh Mack!! That is beautiful beyond words. At first I thought, too much yellow, but you really know what your'e doing. Seeing the end results in the very begining. Amazing skills. I work with pinecones at times too, but only in the simplest ways, this is thoroughly brilliant. I'm in awe.

Oo. I like the sound of the slicing! And guessed it was good to be a resin jobat the start but there's more colour! Good job! Because I know it's going to be. Haven't finished watching yet. You're just starting to turn. Resin waste looks even more like silly string than it usually does.

Cheers John . Glad you like it man. The Axminster lathe has been stored for my boys to learn on (run into the ground) only 1 and 3 yr old at the most will be a few years before they are turning. The vicmarc vl300 is, as everyone seems to agree, the best Woodturning lathe on the market. I absolutely love it. In the camper in the lakes this weekend so the clocks won’t effect us. The lads always have us up at 6am waking at 5 isn’t too much of an issue
Another great piece fit for any decor or table. I really like how it looks murky yet the pine cones stand out against the resin. Splendid piece.

Nice vase!. I only started using LED strip-lights last week to illuminate the inside of my bowls; I simply used small rare-earth magnets or "stick" them to the toolrest. I think you may try that as well in the place of the rubber bands. Kind regards.

@@JackMackWoodturning Jack, I only once turned a piece of wood combined with resin. Looks beautiful, but I hated the terrible mess it made in my workshop/garage. My "business" is called "Wonder of Wood" - so I concentrate on South African hardwoods. Still - I appreciate good resin work. Kind regards.

That's just stunning!!! At first I wasn't sure of the yellow (just not a personal favorite), but it blended perfectly!! The pine cones just add an other worldly quality.

I’ve seen a lot of vases made with pine cones, but this one is wonderful to look at. I also thought of an idea when you first started turning it….. it would be cool to turn a shape of a whiskey barrel. With the groves for the straps. Then find some brass strips to use in those groves. And take it farther with (thinking of it…..) fake rivets. And if you were ever more adventurous, use a Dremel to carve line to crease slats of wood. Color’s maybe a couple different browns, a little black and maybe a metallic brown or brass resin. Always looking for unique ideas and thought I should share it with you since the idea was inspired as you started turning this vase. 😁
