@@canicheenrage The Montreal team isn't even that bad the only games I've really seen people cry about from them Is Farcry 4, Watch dogs, and AC Unity. Most recent games from them like AC Origins are actaually pretty damn good.
@Morgan025 жыл бұрын
@@Morgan02 You think so? Ubisoft Montreal games are just mediocre. They have nothing special or mind blowing. But Ubisoft Montpellier makes really great games such Valiant Hearts or Child of Light.
@MedievalRainChannel5 жыл бұрын
@@MedievalRainChannel Yes Assassin's Creed 2 was a masterpeice, it was emotional at parts and the music was fantastic, in fact mostly all Assassins Creed games from the Montreal team have been amazing, Unity wasn't that bad but its not the best, and don't come at me about Odyessy or Sydicate that was a different team. And their other games the Farcry series Farcry 2 was really good and detailed and is alot of peoples favourite, Farcry 3 people loved, this one is probably considered the best FC game, now Splinter Cell those are some of peoples Favourite Stealth games ever made, and the Rainbow Six games, Siege is probably one of the most popular First person shooters out there right now. All studios have their goods and bads even Montpellier, like Zombiu, and I guess we'll have to see how Beyond Good And Evil 2 will do.

How the Voice Actor said 'War makes men mad." is one of the most impactful lines in this entire monologue. The slight changes to his voice are really something that shouldn't go without reward.

One thing that lingers in my mind is what will happen to Karl's son? He was but an infant at the beginning of WW1, so he'll be in his mid 30's during the time of WWII. It's just sad when you play this whole game, get attached to the characters and just want to think "well things will be better now." When really they will become far worse in a matter of time.

I feel that for Emile, the war ended where it began: He started out raising the 150th's flag with the regiment at attention, from what I can tell, the same compound he was being detained at was the same one where he was issued his uniform. The same flag is in the background, and the regiment pays respects to him. Only he's headed in the opposite direction from when he first started out, towards home.

TBH, I initially thought that Emile was going to go out and see his daughter who was visiting him at the Detention Barrack, and he will be overjoyed to see Karl reunited with her. Then I realized, that this form of privilege was not available back then... then the song played, and the narration started, then the tears started to flow out as the truth kicked in, the pole came into sight, I shut my eyes, covered my ears, and bawled like a little baby. This game, was just absolutely beautiful. It shows the horrors of war, without the use of much gore or violence. Being able to invoke such sentiments from players, with such a simple game, and an amazing story, this game achieves what many games today can't. Just hope that there will be more games like these in the future, truly look forward to it!

Dearest Marie, As war ends for me, I have no regrets. I've seen too much horror. I hope fate has been merciful to you. Our time on Earth is brief. Mine has been filled with so much joy, I can only be thankful for how much I've been blessed. Most specially, for the wonder you brought into my life. This letter will be my last. I have been found guilty by a military court for a death of an officer. It was not my intention to kill him. War makes men mad. And though I failed Karl, I know my sacrifice will not have been in vain. I fought for my country and liberty. My honour is assured. Since it is the will of God to separate men on Earth, I hope we will meet again in heaven. Keep me your prayers. Your loving papa, Always.

This, this is no simple game, this is a work of art, it, with its simple graphic and simple play style, was able to draw forth so much emotion, unlike most war games, it showed the human side of war, it showed the flaws of the countries we consider the good guys, and the good of those we would consider the bad guys, its beautiful

hawk2274 Vision this game wasn’t just about graphics, or just for amusement, but to show how reality is.. the music, and especially the song at the end, fit perfect and made the story so much better! IWaitedALongTimeToChangeMyNameAndThisIsIt I’m very tempted to do just that, maybe make it part of a course on WW1 to really dig at the student’s heartstrings. It is an order from the general, the officer is not a bad guy, he was forced to do this, otherwise there will be no discipline in the army. A good example is a Russian army after collapse of Russian Empire, but before the October Revolution. Officers were not allowed to send soldiers to attack, until "soldier committee" agrees too, and ofc they never agreed, because noone wants to die.

Yeah, it makes me sad that it doesn't gonna have a sequel, it's just a 100th anniversary of WWI you don't make a sequel of an anniversary 4 years later and even if it has a sequel Emile is dead now so se wont would have our heavy-hearted frenchman. Also Valiant Hearts is better in terms of plot than in gameplay IMO, the puzzles are somewhat boring and dont represents a challenge to an average gamer. It's an underrated game with a GREAT emotional plot despite his flaws. P.D.: Sorry for my English, I use to speak Spanish. P.D.2: Please, save your Marvel #ENDGAME spoilers please, thank you :)

Ah, I was missing this one. The classic "call them a child with a keyboard or a Neet that lives on their parents basement", the perfect way to both insult everyone and feel better about yourself. Extra points if used by an actual child or neet. I'm not ruling out neither, seeing your behaviour. The emoji at the end is just the cherry at the top, confirming how you haven't used this site before at least since the mid 2010's, when the most obnoxious, mass media fed part of Generation Z entered KZhead with their trends. Thank you, really. This was really fun. It also seems I've riled you up enough for you to dig up my profile. Hope you liked the video, it was a fun University project, first time I ever edited anything. Quite the learning experience, didn't know how fun it could be. Anyways, keep being you, kid, I'm sure you're gonna have some great learning experiences in the future. Also, talking about learning, I'd recommend an English book. I learnt the language thru TV and I can speak it better than you. Kinda pathetic, really.

How the Voice Actor said 'War makes men mad." is one of the most impactful lines in this entire monologue. The slight changes to his voice are really something that shouldn't go without reward.
I just came back to it to watch this just because of the impact that spoken line had on me while I was watching the Walkthrough of the game some time ago. That stuck with me heavily. It also deeply touches me. Glad somebody else found that, too.

One thing that lingers in my mind is what will happen to Karl's son? He was but an infant at the beginning of WW1, so he'll be in his mid 30's during the time of WWII. It's just sad when you play this whole game, get attached to the characters and just want to think "well things will be better now." When really they will become far worse in a matter of time.

wrongly attributed to Plato by General MacArthur and the earliest publication of the quote is from George Santayana's "Soliloquies in England and Later Soliloquies" (1922).
When the narrator says that "We must strive to cherish their memory and never forget." I've spent constant hours of time dedicated to doing just that. Also it sucks they don't use this game to teach at schools.
IWaitedALongTimeToChangeMyNameAndThisIsIt I’m very tempted to do just that, maybe make it part of a course on WW1 to really dig at the student’s heartstrings. Lichelord Godfrey I know in his anger he accidentally killed him.
There were a great deal of people like that, they say "It takes a few thousand dead to train a General."

In both world wars desertion was punishable by jail sentence or a firing squad.
All the feels, I wasn't expecting that ending. And the trophy you get ...'and some will not.' I was dead.
"Since it is will of God to separate us on Earth, I hope we'll meet again in heaven" Man, always kill me
If I didn't have depression before, I do now.
Roses are red Violets are blue When tearful ending start i cried too
2018....
our savior Tony Bamanaboni yep😞
> And don't give me the "its been a hundred years" excuse because if he was to say that he should had made it clearer.
I've yet to see you raise any point besides playground insults. I mean, it was what I was fully expecting from someone like you, but still, maybe you could learn how to attempt to mismantle people besides screeching like a child and hoping it goes away, hmmm?

The ending is the best. I saw youtubers play this game and the ending almost made me cry. Now 4 years later, it still does. I never felt emotional to other games or movies. But because this is real. Its really sad.
it makes it sadder cause, the whole game was based on real letters
1:14 always when that music starts shivers go down my spine
martial arts, music and history and then his letter... it fits perfect and it’s so emotional, real art
@@thedutchgamelife6264 Yeah and valiant hearts is one of my favorite games. Also have you played 11-11 memories retold it is also a very good ww1 story based game
The story is absolutely stunning. And this ending.. war always extinguishes even the brightest flames of humanity. In my family, mothers have lost both of their sons and some who survived came back very different and broken.
He died fighting for his land, his honor is definitely assured. Rest in Peace. A true War Hero
I will never forget this game. This game will always have a special place in my heart
I ended this game 5 years ago. And its end still haunts me... One of the best videogames I've ever played
Where women cried Where men cried Where legends cried…
4 videogame scene legends cried like a baby: This Toriel's death Aunt May's death This scene again when you see freddie at 2:01
Did anyone notice how the narrator sounded like he was getting choked up
I was already crying when the music started. But when I saw Freddie standing there it was like a dam had burst. Best game I've ever played.
War, War never changes..
They should make a second one where Karl's son gets taken into WWII
NoBot617 well this game is actually based of real letters from ww1. So we can't make one about Karl's son going to ww2, unless he does actually does.
Before I finished it I wanted a world war 2 one
*Thousands of officers getting killed* France:Its Fine. *One Officer killed by friendly* France:REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
*An officer sending hundreds of men to their deaths pointlessly* France:It's for our victory *An officer getting killed by a friendly* France: Wow, that was uncalled for
Because it was betrayal, it’s a war crime... no matter why
It surprises me just how much people underrated this game
"'Most specially for the wonder you brought into my life"
I loved the dedication and care that went into this care, telling thes stories behind the characters and the little snippits of infomation you used to be able to find. I just wish Ubi made games like it now.
I am not afraid to say this made me cry my eyes out! 😭
ToddE GameZ I can't stop crying:'(
"Emille Cheillon... C'est l'heure." This game has almost non-existent character dialogue, but boy did they save it for the right moment.
Girl 1: i can't believe he didn't cry during titanic Girl 2: do men have feelings? Boys:
Other boys: feelings are for betas
0:29 They way he clearly sighs when they say its time is sad
he dont
This game is the most emotional game I've seen. It needs an award for how great it is. Every time I watch this scene I burst into tears.
4 years later and this game is still most painful ending of a beautiful game i've ever experienced this will now and always be with me until my life fades away from existence
This really got to me :,( R.I.P - Emile
2019 and still in recommendation, Its such an honor to watch this.
i havent breathed any content about this for four years and i was scrolling through my watch later playlist and i found this. i missed this game this was a truly beautiful experience. real underrated game right here cause i started bawling when he started reading the letter. god my homework is soaked now
Of all the games I've played, this one truly did the best job at delivering its message. It shows how truly awful the war was while paying homage to those who fought in it on both sides. This is one of the few games where my eyes will start tearing up at the end. Truly an emotional game with a powerful theme.
I finished this game in one sitting when it came out...I'm a father of four children and was in the army and I'm not going to lie I cried at the end. Awesome game
One of the greatest stories told and portrayed in one of the best ways possible..... A true masterpiece.......
For some reason I remembered this game today and decided that I want to watch this scene again, 5+ years after playing it, and it still made me tear up while watching the soldiers saluting him a farewell.
The job the voice actor did is amazing. But I encourage you to watch the german version (even uf you probably don't understand a word). The german voice of Emil gives him so much emotion, that it is one of the best jobs I've ever seen done, not even just in a video game, but in all media as a whole.
I'm mad that the French dub isn't the best, it's what would be his actual language and it kinda sucks
I wish this game was at the beginning of every war-FPS
Dude today WW3 or Some shitty futuristic games rule eh if there were more like theese
Little did the soldiers knew that a much larger storm is coming
Its 2018 And it Still Hits The Feels....😢😢😢😢😢
Probably the most memorable game ending I've ever played.
If you didn't cry during this I will never trust you
I completed Valiant Hearts on a 4K TV on my PC with 5 other people watching me and none of us cried on this scene. The 6 of us are now untrustworthy
Every Single time I see this. I always cry. Just understanding everything to get there. deep meaning.
10 years later and this is still the most memorable game I have ever played..
True, by me too
Can't help myself but cry every time I get to the end of this game. Even 6 years after my first walkthrough, still feels very touching. I used to think that going through games like Valiant Hearts, This war of mine, movies like Warhorse would be enough to realise how brutal and pointless every war. Either I was wrong or some people just ignore things like that. I live in Ukraine whole my life, two years ago I started my work at Ubisoft Odesa. Today is 5th of May 2022, it's 71st day of war that rages in my home country. Now I can see how all this is real but still can't understand how it was let to happen.
4 years on and I still cry
The second game I've ever played to make me bawl like a baby...
The voice actor for this game truly captured how tired and exhausted Emile was. You can hear the emotion as he reads the letter out loud and knowingly resigns himself to his fate. Not a lot of games can capture this emotion well
When you realise Karl and his son would have to fight in Ww2 & support Hitler or die
Let's hope it didn't happened somehow
They could've escaped to America
Those who fight because they want to fight, are monsters, those who fight because they have to, are soldiers.
MLgamings I might be late... But damn... them ninjas cutting onions again...
My grandfather once told me, when i was a child, "To be a soldier, is to be a light against the darkness, a shield, for those whom have none..."
Still cant stop crying about this moment even though the first time i saw it was when the game came out... so about 7 years.
It's been 6 years now since I saw this the first time and it still brings me to tears
To those who lost their family menbers to the war, To those who have lost their mother or father to the war. I hope you could or can mourn their death one more last before you could join them one last time. This game reminds us not to disrespect the elderly especially they are war veterans or elites as they much of it as we do not
This game is the one of the ones that made me cry. Only four games have done this Valiant hearts,The walking dead season 1, red dead 2 and finally the last guardian. This one was by far the one that I remember the most
I remember not crying the time I finished this game, but then a few days later sitting down and thinking about it, then breaking down. Made me think how many more untold stories there were that would break hearts.
After all these years I always find my way back here to a place where I had joy, happiness like no other as well as sadness this Is what games miss now a days the true meaning of what it's like to be a gamer
