No matter how many time's I watch lord of the rings, Theoden's speeches never fail to give me goosebumps. Some of the best writing in history.
In the movie version, in Helm's deep, if they'd ditched the immeasurably inane call-back to what Gandalf told Aragorn (what is this a lifetime movie?) it would have been a 100% perfect scene. That stupid call-back was dumb...it makes it look like Aragorn is only riding out because he know he has a cheat code rather than as a last ditch effort to let people escape through the caves.
@@justjeff386 Aragorn knows, but he's letting Theoden Have His Moment so that his confidence grows post-Sauron-spell. That confidence comes in handy later in the larger war when Gondor calls for Theoden's aid, and he rolls up in full force to the battle of the Pelennor Fields 10:20
Also Aragorn suggests it before Gimli reminds him of Gandalf's coming 1:03
@@jacobemery2712 I just think for story telling it would have been way more impactful not to give away that Aragorn was expecting Gandalf's return. While I agree Aragorn was doing his best to mold Theoden back into the King and general he had been prior to Saruman the fighting of the despair of certain death for the faintest of hopes of saving a few living humans was not only a growth point for Theoden but also for Aragorn who had spent so much time as the ranger Strider that he needed help seeing that he was truly the King of the West, the heir of Isildur who can rally and lead all good men. Anyway it's a small nit in an otherwise truly epic moment!
@@jacobemery2712 Except Aragorn doesn't know because Gandalf is not a god and can fail to turn up and have things go wrong. As indeed they had reliably done so up to this point when Gandalf failed to protect the early stages of the journey from Hobbiton to Rivendell, and then got himself wiped out in Moria resulting in the destruction of the Fellowship at enormous peril to the Ring. At this point Aragorn would be safer to assume Gandalf was going to cock it up again since this is in fact the first time in the book where Gandalf actually comes up with the goods. So its highly unlikely Aragorn believed that rescue was assured and instead agreed with Theoden that they might as well die with their boots on.
R.I.P Bernard Hill, thank you for playing such a huge part in my childhood as King Théoden
Arise now, arise, Riders of Théoden! Dire deeds awake: dark is it eastward. Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded! Forth Eorlingas! Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden! Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter! Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
Wait...what!?!?
Omg I had no idea he died...holy hell, I'm gonna need a few
...even as Orome the Great in the battle of the Valar when the World was young...
:/
There is only one bad thing about "The Charge of the Rohirrim", and it's that you can only watch it once for the first time.
Pro tip: give yourself concussions after watching it so you forget it and can watch it for the first time again
I must respectfully disagree. Personally I love it more every time.
*The RIDE of the Rohirrim* but yes it’s true
Such an epic moment
In the cinema it was exceptional 🤩🤯🤩
“Ride for ruin, for wrath, and the world ending! DEAAAATHHH!” Outrageous scenes. Best movies ever made.
The Ride of Rohirrim will always give me gooseflesh. Thousands of horseman charging to their death, screaming death as their last battlecry.... "Ride now.... Ride to ruin, and the world's ending.... Death!" Magnificent. I cry every time.
Did you know that the scene was based on a real cavalry charge done by Poland in the mid 1600s

Lord of the Rings is something else,it’s a shame a lot of people don’t know about it or won’t give it a chance but their loss
I feel people must know of it with how famous it is. But I don’t think they ever try to read or watch it out of laziness or as you said won’t give it a chance.
Yes sir. Even the ghost army went there. Taking down even the elephants
@@jetsnation14 i dont see much ✡️👹 influence in lord of rings which is the reason i like it. Make me happy when i can watch movie without multi-ethnic influence.
Best movie trilogy ever made imo
I watched all of it with my husband as well as all of the Star Wars films whenever we were dating (then we watched the newer ones when they came out)! Now he has to watch all of Harry Potter with me. 😁
No matter how many times you watch it, the Ride of The Rohirrim still stirs your heart and makes you stick your chest out a little farther...
Maybe us white people will still get a chance against you know who.. wink wink.
The charge and Theoden's speech will never not bring a tear to my eyes, everything about it is absolutely perfect and the fact that everyone of them isn't riding for glory or even victory but to to look into the face of death itself and charge right at it with nothing but triumphant force, it's incredable.
As the Polish Winged Hussars did in 1683 at Vienna in human history for saving the seat of Christianity in Europe, the Ride of Rohirrum enters into legend for filmmaking history for Lord of the Rings.
a LOTR fan once told me the symbolism of the scene. Morgoth put the fear of death into men's hearts. Here, Theoden screams Death because they're letting the children of Morgoth know it has no power over them; scared or not, they're coming.
@@judyhopps9380 oh that's an incredible read. I absolutely love that, thank you for sharing it.
God like... all of Theodens speeches are just S tier. That "Yes... yes. the horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep.. one last time!" followed by the rest of the speech is just magnificent to me
The thing that adds to Rohan’s arrival in Gondor is the light behind them. A beacon of hope as it were
I still get goosebumps when I Hear that first horn in Return of the King
@@truog1 Gandalfs expression too. Somehow the witch king has a confused/concerned expression
Why did they need to ride out? Why couldn’t they just wait for reinforcements?
@@markmiller6111 Theoden didn’t know reinforcements were coming, he thought Eomer had left Rohan. Gandalf just told Aragorn to wait for his coming at dawn, thats why when Aragorn saw the first light of the dawn through the window, he urged Theoden to ride out, he knew Gandalf would be there
You can see why it was so important for Sauron to keep the king weak. His courage grows each day after he was reawakened.
You mean the king of Rohan?
@@SamUHellsyup
Saruman kept theoden weak. Unless I'm misremembering, I don't think Sauron was involved.
@@saccerzd But Saruman was really just a proxy of Sauron. He acted on Sauron's command.
@@biggiec8224 Up to a point, but he was very much playing a double game, with his goal being to capture and master the One Ring and take Sauron's desired place as ruler of Middle-Earth.

While Ramsay kind of forgot about the USB devices disconnecting, they certainly haven't forgotten about him, and they are just waiting for him to come back.
The Lotr series is such a classic. No idea why they don't make more high-fantasy movies like that. Don't they know we're burned out on superhero movies T_T
fr bro
True, Super hero movies have turned out into comedy films.....
We are burned out on mediocre, half-assed products....I don't remember the last that I saw a movie that had real effort put into it
Like The Hobbit and the garbage that is "the rings of power" they rely too much on CGI. Back when the original LOTR was made, there were more real casting, costumes and props for sets. Why? Because CGI requires less effort and money. Sadly, the passion to do masterpiece through hardwork comes very few nowadays. That's why we can't have anything like it anymore.
@@saymyname6726 Yep. Medicre shit pays better. Fools enjoy foolish stuff more too, so why bother making high effort stuff? Shame...
One scene i think that should be here, is when Baldwin arrives in Kingdom of Heaven, the line "Jersusalem has come", the shot where you can see them beyond the haze, the soundtrack, and the decisions of both leaders is just so good
It is good but there is no battle happens in the end
@@chucksison9199 theres no need for a battle though, its the execution of dialogue, the atmosphere, the tension between sahladeen and baldwin and their wisdom that prevented a war to break out that would've greatly damaged both sides.
I remember that. I agree, it was just so good. And the way it was played into a talking match- even as a young man I understood how interesting that was
part2 its there
Worst : Star wars, GOT Middle : Avengers Best: LOTR
The best part of Avengers Endgame for me is when Thanos' entire army appears, countless legions unleashed, and Captain America stands up, straps on his broken shield, and starts limping forward. It's literally an entire galactic army vs. one soldier, and he's ready to go. He can do this all day. That shot at 5:18 is incredible.
"Death!...Death!...DEATH!!!" I've seen that moment hundreds of times, and I still get a rush. Watching beloved characters choosing to face their inevitable destruction with such determination is timeless.
I'm glad to live in modern times but it does pull at my heart that I won't ever arrive with the king's host to save an enbattered enemy with a bro blowing the big fucking horn.
Except its always spoiled by the fact they needn't have bothered since the army of the dead turned up and wiped out the Orcs out without breaking a sweat, and the Rohirrim might as well have stayed in Rohan and got pissed.
@@osric1730 Except the army of the dead were never really there, even in the movie they were a one time use force, when they leave they still need someone to defend Gondor after the fact and face the 10,000+ Orcs left in Mordor, which Gondor's armies combined with Rohan did in the novel.
@@rhinohelix197 They still made the charge of the Rohirrim pointless though didn't they?
@@osric1730not really, there’s a good time gap between the arrival of the Rohirrin and the army of the dead, odds are if they hadn’t shown up the city would already have been lost, it almost was anyway, and Gandalf would certainly have been killed by the Witch King. I don’t think it was made irrelevant by any stretch of the imagination
I'm over here outside by myself getting goosebumps watching Theoden just do his thing. Such a phenomenal actor.
Bernard Hill! 🤩 Phenomenal is exactly right. He was excellent throughout, and embodied Theoden perfectly. But his portrayal in RoTK was nothing short of *exceptional!* The Battle of The Pelennor Fields is one of the greatest moments in cinematic history, but it rests on the back of his performance and wouldn't come close to the same heights without it.
Riding off willingly into almost certain death. And then as he lay dying, he was glad that he was now worthy to be buried in the company of his brave ancestors before him. So... powerful...
Bernard Hill as Theoden King was Magnificent; he had come a LONG way since he was the Praetorian guard who named Caligula's goofy uncle Claudius as Emperor in "I, Claudius(1976)! He points to the cringing Claudius, who's hoping to not be killed by the Praetorian Guard who had perforated Caligula moments earlier, "Hey!(in a wonderful, cheesy British accent), He'll make a good emperor...!" What a classic scene, from a classic movie(a remake of ANOTHER classic movie, made pre-WW2), based on a magnificent classic historical novel. How can you go wrong?
Not that the rides of Rohan have 3 major fights and they have to suffer the most casualties a castle defence with a horse charge in pike then they do it again at the galaden field and finally with Aragon at the black gates to to mention they lost there king there kinda following the heir apparent and there full king with Aragon but still Rohanean had to suffer the most
Theoden King! 😭😭😭
Lotr is really untouchable. The first time i saw it i instantly declared it my favorite movie series ever and it still is. Just perfect.
The book is even better, specially the end
Rest in peace, Bernard Hill. Gave some of the greatest speeches in cinematic history. Always got your blood pumping.
I love how Theoden's all like "The horn will sound!", and Gimli's just, "Wicked! That'll be my job!" and he guns it up the stairs to give thathorn a good old Dwarven bwaaah.

It makes my heart warm and my mind at peace knowing that after two decades the LotR trilogy is in the top of the comments, reflecting the everlasting quality of the film and the statement that the class is timeless. P. S. No need to mention that the LotR scenes give me goosebumps every time.
"to the king!" Gets me everytime. He delivers it in a way that leaves zero doubt, hes going to get to his king and aint a damn thing going to stop him.
Lord of the Rings trilogy is incomparable. Nothing can ever beat them. Peter Jackson really created not 1 but 3 masterpieces and kept on making them better and more intense. There are many movies having plots with deeper meanings. LOTR is a shallow movie when it comes to the depth of the plot. It's a cinematic masterpiece nevertheless.@@vikramsinghchauhan9083
Return of the King had the best reinforcement scenes. not only did we get the Ride of the Rohirrim, but straight after we get an enemy reinforcement with the Haradrim's Mûmakil charge followed by the arrival of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli with the Dead Men of Dunharrow
Gr8 point
My least favorite thing about Return of the King is the dead army. It makes the battle of Pelennor not feel as worth it, like all the deaths were meaningless because the Army of the Dead shows up right after Rohan. That and what they did to Faramir in the movies. 2 things I didn't like. That being said, LoTR trilogy are the best movies ever made.
@@N7_Jedi I had the same issue with the army of the dead. They entire city could've fallen and all the people there dead, and the army of the dead still washes over Sauron's forces like a wave and kills them all. It dismisses all the valor beforehand, both of the men of Gondor and men and woman of Rohan ... and hobbits ... and Gandalf ... and horses ... ... ... okay, I think that's it.
That's why in the books they basically can't interact with the corporeal and are there just to spook the enemy.
That battle had so many different plot twists and turning points. I thought Twin Towers was the more emotional movie, especially when Gandolf showed up with the Riders of Rohirrim at the end, but the Battle of Pelennor Fields was a true MasterClass in telling story through huge action set pieces. Marvel's grand scale battles always aspire to be LOTR, but they never quite get there.
The amount of hype within the theater during that endgame scene will forever make that scene so fun and exciting to watch never have i experienced something like that. That scene and will that memory gives me chills everytime

But I just want to point out that ..... NAAAHHH you are right😄

in my opinion there's only 2 scenes something close to rohirrim epicness: the cliffs fight scene of the last of the Mohicans. No fairy tale fantasy ending, just raw as fuck. No effects, all real, and the music holding the tension high.... And the end of flight club. That's my top 3

"Theoden king stands alone. " "Not alone" such epic scene

ROHIRRIM! TO THE KING!! The thunderous charge of a thousand horses. Magnificent!
Eomer doesnt get enough cred. He got men so loyal to him that they abandon their king, he is out there doing Good work and then rejoins the king when Rohan needs it.
Oh snap I never saw it like that
They did not really abandon their king, they were banished actually. But yeah creds to Eomer for being such a great leader
He always believed in his king, but he and his men were banished. So they roamed around still protecting rohan
They were loyal to the king and thus they were banished. “Theoden king stands alone.” “Not alone.”
Fortunately, it wasn't in the book. Eomer fought with Aragorn and Theoden at Helms Deep. Grimbeorn led the relief expedition (with Gandalf) of the reformed men from the battles at the ford of Isen. Oh, and the Huorns surrounded the Orcs, and no orc made it out from under those trees.
Man, I cannot keep it together every time I see Chadwick walk out of the portal. They couldn't have picked a more perfect first face for Steve to see. Rest in power, King T'Challa.

Theoden’s speeches and Rohirrim charge always give me goosebumps no matter how many times I watch the trilogy. The music also accentuates the scenes. LotR is simply timeless.

LotR is GOAT everywhere and everytime, forever. Trilogy full of the most EPIC scenes in movie history.
Battle of helms deep will go down as one of the most epic fights in movie history. Then the mad lad Peter Jackson did it again with the ride of the rohirrim. Absolutely top class cinema.
The ride of the Rohirim is cinematic gold! RIP Bernard Hill
One of the things I love about the LOTR is how the most memorable scenes are from ancient history. When they ride out at 2:30 in this video into what they think is certain death, that actually happened during a siege, the knight templars charged out on horseback instead of dying in the fortress, in history they actually all died though, unlike this scene. The massive horse charge in the same battle down the steep hill and then outside minis tirith? (That big white city, sorry I don't remember the names) That was from our own history too when 18000 heavy horsemen from the Holy Roman Empire charged an Ottoman army of 90000 that was besieging Vienna. Apparently the hill was so steep they charged down that there was no slowing down or stopping once it started, it was biggest cavalry charge in history and sent the Ottoman army into retreat and ended their expansion. The Polish winged Hussar knights had 3000 involved with the charge. I can't even begin to imagine what 18000 knights charging toward you would look like, it would have looked endless.
that is nice, may i ask if what templar battle are you referring to? would like to read up on that
@@paulfajardo713 You mean when they rushed out of the gates into their death? When I wrote this I looked for the exact battle on Google but couldn't find it, it was during one of the crusades during a siege the Crusaders lost. Sorry
I could watch Two Towers and ROTK over and over. Theoden’s speeches just get my adrenaline pounding.
Best of the 3 in my opinion
My sister and I watched the two towers about 15 times - I remember we were standing in line to buy tickets to see it again and finally noticed they had removed it from the lineup…
Saruman mocked him as 'a lesser Kingof greater Sires'..".. Theoden died, on the field of battle, as a féarless Leader, commanding the Rohirrim through the onslaught of Sauron's Orc Legions, and even the Haradrim... to be bested by none less then the King of the Nazgul...who was defeated, along his Nazgul mount, by Eowen! Theoden would be go down in history as one of the greatest Kings of Rohan! Saruman was wrong abotu a great many things, but his greatest error was his misjudgement of Theoden of Rohan!
LOTR where the roherrim arrive at minas tirith is based on an actual event, when the winged hussars of Poland reinforced a city under Turkish siege, and charged down from the highlands and broke the siege
Reading about the siege of Vienna and the scale of that one charge will just blow your mind, I think it was 20,000 heavy cavalry charging into 100,000 Turks or something like that.

I read 15-20 of the comments down below and all of you talked about LOTR!! It is hard to describe how it feels when you watch your favorite characters from the books come alive on a huge screen! Or just characters (not in the books). Some stories and epic scenes stay with you forever if the Director and Composer did a good job. You watch it again and again and the hunger to see it again only intensifies. The music only adds to the scenes and all the HAIR on the body stands up, saluting for a job well done! Like you guys, I've seen the first 3 LOTR countless times and no matter how many more times I will watch it again, it never get's boring. It took over 4 months for the CGI team to get that battle scene.
The charge of the Rohirrim would've never happened if Pippin had not lit the first beacon. Well done, Pippin!

These were great. I also would like to share the moment from Vikings when Bjorn Ironside puts his armor on one last time. A slightly different situation, but one of my favorite scenes in movies.
Exactly!!! That was amazing
One of the powers of Gandalf's ring Narya was to evoke hope and courage in others when it all seemed lost; it was awesome to see all of it play out in realtime filling Aragorn and Theoden with hope and courage just as dawn was close and as Gandalf was approaching.
The Battle of Rohirrim is so epic! Battle of the Bastards had me pumping on my chest like a man watching the NBA finals. But hearing “Avengers Assemble” in theatre as everyone in the crowd roared was truly a time to be alive.

Theoden's speech when they arrive at Gondor always gives me goosebumps. Bernard Hill outdid himself with one.
"Ride of Rihirrim" Only time in cinematic history when perfection was achieved. This is not just a scene but millions of thoughts coming into mind only if one knows how deep this scene goes
The speech(es) of Theoden and the coming of Eomer are like a punch in the chest every time. Simply fantastic
20 years since “LOTR - The Return to the King” came out. I watched it on the first day of release in NYC even though I had a cold. Magnificent and inspired me to join the VFX industry.
I am unsure of how many actually knows that the Rohirrim Charge at the Battle of Pelenor Fields is likely a historical reference to the Siege of Vienna 1683. - At the time, Vienna was considered the gateway to Europe and it was widely recognized that if it was to fall, the turks would have no problem advancing further into Europe. The turks were MANY more than the force defending Vienna, so a call for aid was sent out and Poland (a mighty force at the time) among others responded and arrived at Vienna with almost 20.000 cavalry! - It was the Polish King Sobieski and The Winged Hussars that in 1683 wrote themselves into history books as the largest ever cavalry charge ever recorded! Try reading through both stories once more and you'll see that despite some differences the similarities of The Siege of Vienna 1683 with Tolkien's Battle of Pelenor Field are striking! Of course the Rohirrim Charge at the Battle of Pelenor Fields is THE charge of cinema history! - Everytime I watch it, I just wish I could relive the first time I watched again and again with the emotions attached while at the cinema! - EPIC!
Thanks for that history lesson. Truly awesome to show that real life can sometimes be more potent than fantasy!
And there is a vodka named in his honour
For those who don't know it, look up the song Winged Hussars by Sabaton
Lord of the Rings is in the league of it's own.
“Avengers … assemble.” Is hard to beat, but King Theoden shouting his speech as he rides across the front of his troops clashing their spears with his sword is unmatched.
Lotr here is a few hundred leagues ahead
Ride of the Rohirm sound track man.........I can't even explain how there's never been an orchestra arranged in a better way of good vs evil. Makes every scene phenomenal
The Ride of Rohirrim combines several great charges in one gorgeous scene. The charge of the Winged Hussars and other cavalry elements at the Battle of Vienna, the Lighthorseman at Beersheba during WW1 and possibly the Charge of the Light Brigade
That’s not cavalry. That’s mounted infantry.
mostly the wingged hussars as the numbers are quite close as well 15000 horsemen and 3000 winged hussars against 100000 otommoans
Or even the "Charge of the Scots Greys" at Waterloo ... or even the attack by the French Cavalry, on the Allied (British, Dutch & German) squares.
I always wonder if helms klamm is just the siege of vienna. Also because of the explosives under the wall.
def not charge of the light brigade, that was a total s--tshow.
Two Towers will never be topped. It's so masterfully shot. Ignoring how impossible it would be for a cavalry charge at such a steep incline... the music, the visual of the sun rising behind them. Just the pure epicness of it all.
I have never seen any of the Avengers movies, but I have seen that final assemble scene so many times and it always gives me chills and gets me choked up. All of these have that palpable sense of relief that is just indescribable. Great compilation!
I get choked up on the Battle for Middle Earth every time during Theodin’s last speech.
For those that don't know, the reliefe of Minas Tirith is heavily inspired by one Christian Europe's most important historical reliefs itself. For those that have heard the song "When the winged hussars arrived", it's based on the 1683 siege of Vienna, when 170'000 Ottoman soldiers are sieging the Capital of the Holy Roman Empire, defended only by about 15'000 Austrian soldiers, volunteers and mercenaries. If it were to fall, it would be a mighty blow to the Christian Europe, the Holy league and allow for further Ottoman expansion west and north. The siege were broken after 60 days when a massive relief force of about 90'000 arrived, and the largest cavalry charge in history of about 18'000 hussars broke the Ottoman moral and sent the on a retreat.
I will never not get crazy chills when the whole Endgame gathering happens. Surely will go down in cinematic history as probably the greatest crossover event ever
There's just something about the helpless being cornered with no way out, and an unexpected turn of events saves them. OO!! It just gets me goosebumps.
last one will always give me chills ! to this day, best army arrival scene. I especially love the sound of horns and the main theme !
Watch the behind scenes of that scene you will be shocked
I have watched it dozens of times and it still brings a tear to the eye. Even Gandalf's expression when he realizes Rohan really did answer the call. That combined with the moment where Theoden weighs his options back when Aragorn says "The Beacons! The beacons are lit!" and Theoden KNOWS that he could live longer if he didn't answer the call, but decides to anyway, because mankind must stand together... that momentary expression from Gandalf says 'There really is hope for this world, when we can count on each other'.

@@JB-xl2jc exactly. Gandalf’s purpose in the books, and to a slightly lesser extent in the movies, is to unite the people’s of middle earth as “The Grey”. Once he becomes the white he’s the head of the order but still maintains his purpose of unification. That look on his face expresses probably the first time in a long while, at least in the books, that nations of men came together under one unifying purpose. Such a great scene
Death!!!
The passing of the great Bernard Hill brought me here. So happy you included his scene in this as this is what I was hoping for when I saw the title.
Incredible, everytime i see those moment in LOTR i get goosebumps and tears not of sadness, but just a big rush of emotions. Feeling every words spoken by actor Bernard Hill like i was there. RIP to an amazing actor.
I know the movies kinda faded away but in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe I always thought the scene after Azlan comes back from the stone table, and brings in the re-enforcements was such a cool scene
Better than the Star Wars-one in this video for sure.
@@Fastwinstondoom the star wars one just made no god damn sense, they what somehow managed to gather every god damn ship in the galaxy of everyone that doesn't like the Empire/First order just in the matter of days/week and all managed to navigate that corridor that either needed a special device or to carefully watch someone else doing it? Really? and they did all that in such a way to arrive barely on time?
I admit that one had me tear up...
If anyone could pull that of it would be lando
@@jsnotlout3312 Flying it himself sure, the rest of it.....I mean not really it's like magic not Star Wars force magic like poof the solution is here magic. It doesn't make any sense. Abrahams ruined so much of that universe when he basically eliminated space travel taking actual time to accomplish, things just instantly happen way too damn much. Luke, Han, Chewey, and the Droids in a New Hope seemed to travel for a while to get to Alderaan and it made sense and it allowed things to happen between places.
the lord of the rings is an incredible trilogy !!!

Trilogy
Endgame has its flaws, but Steve Rodgers standing alone, tired and injured, against an army led by Thanos is such a perfect representation of what makes him a hero
Lord of the rings just takes the cake . (Good list btw ). It’s insane how there are so many of these moments in those three movies alone. One of my favorites being when Aragorn shows back up at weather top to save the hobbits . What an epic trilogy .
There is just such an epicness to the LoTR movies. The sound track and everything gives it such weight. They still hold up so well, too.
1000% - pure magic!
I don’t think the LOTR trilogy will ever be topped. I legitimately believe it is the single greatest film trilogy ever made in the history of cinema.
What I like about lotr is that the movies and books are so different yet they are both amazing. so you get 2 amazing trilogies in one trilogy.
Man, Thor's expression when they get there is so powerful. It's like his eyes scream "He won't win again."
Those horn blowers provide such immense value. Gets everyone just hyped
" Let this be the hour that we draw swords together..." " WTF WE BEEN DOING ALL NIGHT?"
Ride for rohirrim always get chills watching that. However, that look T’Challa gives Cap after walking through the portal though.. like I see you brother.
Man, that part made me tear up.
Hearing "Avengers Assemble" while the whole movie theater was cheering and clapping has got to be my peak cinematic experience of all time. Nothing has ever even come close to that moment.

You did NOT put Rise of Skywalker on here. It’s a cheap remake attempt of Endgame
I came here to say this. Glad I’m not alone 😂
Avengers and X-Men. two of the greatest runs of films in recent history. blows all others out of the water.
take this a step farther. Avengers and X-Men were the only two greatest runs in cinematic history.
Me and Theoden could be facing the armies of Mordor alone and he'd still be able to inspire me.
You watch it a million times and still it will send chills through your spine...LOTR is one the best movies ever made period...there are many other remarkable movies but it's just something else.
Nothing beats it just a true masterpiece
For death n glory ! God I’m gonna miss him 🫶🏾 thank you for the movie of my lifetime ! LOTR
Great list buddy .... Watching lord of the rings every Christmas eve for 3yrs with 2 of my best friends who are no longer with us. Always brings me back to better times watching 3 absolutely amazing movies with my buddies . To anyone who never watched them or read the books you are missing out
That look of fear the orcs have at the end just makes me love these parts even more
The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep one last time…Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Epic!
"THEODEN KING STANDS ALONE..." "NOT ALONE!" STILL GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS!
I will never forget how incredible the Avengers Assemble scene was in theaters. People who are only watching the movies later will likely never feel quite the same. But at the time, it had been a year since we sat and watched as hero after hero turned to dust. It was the largest gut-punch Marvel studios ever delivered and we had to sit with that for a year. Then we get to this point. Cap is the last man standing. He knows he's probably going to die. And yet, he is still ready to fight to his last breath. He is at perhaps his lowest point. And then this happens. Now, yes, we knew the characters would return or at least some of them would. But noone expected something like THIS. If you can, find video of people live reacting to this scene in theaters. There are deafening roars from the audience here. Those aren't just fanboy shouts. That is some genuine emotional outpouring. Say what you will about the MCU, but they absolutely stuck the landing with Endgame.
"Theoden king stands alone." "Not alone, Rohirrim !! To the King 👑!!!!!"
Never seen the rise of skywalker but that first clip genuinely made me laugh out loud. "We need to show that they have support. How many should we put on screen?" Director "Yes"
ikr like I love Star Wars but that was a bit excessive
That, plus it didn't feel earned, it came out of nowhere, and by this point in the movie I'd lost all emotional investment in both the story and the characters because of how badly written it was. Neither the nostalgia bait nor the sheer amount of cgi on display here was enough to make me care.
@@The_Greedy_Orphan If only they had finished it the way Return Of The Jedi did - a straight-up space fight that the Rebels win, and a straight-up Force fight that the Rebels also (after a fashion) win, and never the twain should have met.
no one has ever seen Rise of Skywalker
I saw it but I wish that I had not. LOL
Rest in peace, Theoden King.
these scenes will always be my favourite, the moment of instant goosebumps, the moment of Theoden, the moment of Cap, the moment of a true leader
The LOTR trilogy, well at least the 2 sequels, had some good ones especially ROTK. And that one had 2 of them, this one left out the one where Aragorn arrived with the spirits/ghosts. That being said..... One cannot simply forget or deny Avengers Endgame. That was ten years of build up all coming down to one late night, early screening of pure glory! I think everyone who attended an early release/screening of that, will remember the energy of that night, the screams, the yells, the applause, and even the tears. Just like the midnight release of ROTK in 2003, it was a night we will never experience again, and will always remember.
And then there's rise of Skywalker, no one clapped or gave a shit , and is so much worse than the reinforcment scenes in LOTR and Endgame.
