  • Sparred Liam at Double K gym a few years ago. Can honestly say he is one of the most awkward fighters I've come up against. Nightmare to spar😂

  • any opinion about this aside..u can really see how the small gloves change the whole dynamic and the style of the sport. Different movements, more boxing, closer guards, more weight on the legs etc. both elite athletes, u can purely by the rounds watch how nolan switches from big gloves to the new school style!

  • Good to see him at Lumpinee on the weekend, i think he was unfortunate but who could have predicted that tomahawk elbow catching him flush......crazy shot. Even nolan said it was "remarkable". Anyway, great sparring footage as always. There's so much talent in the UK that should be in ONE. Ammari, Bendon (unlucky against seksan) need to be in one.

  • Love your videos man. Super entertaining and educational. Do you guys think the high guard in useful in 4oz gloves? I feel super confortable with high guard, when I use small gloves that confidence disappears sometimes

    • I've only done two lessons and lately I'm using the long guard or guard where hands are a bit lower.. I'm thinking if you go high it'll be hard for take down defence where you gotta angle to the side and sprawl, controlling their head... Get sometime to keep doing take downs on you while high guarding and see. Your coach should be able to comment on this

  • I'm a boxer and I once helped a bare knuckle boxer in sparring, I never did it with small gloves. I did the sparring very well but I was afraid to connect clean in my partner's face. How can I go about shooting without fear without making a cut or a KO? Thank you for your content

  • @1:18 he just got knocked out if it were not for the pull back or the shin pads, I understand the concept of hard sparring, but we need to acknowledge that when a clean strike land do not rush the person back or try to sweep or play it cool. Reset and go again. Other than that good rounds guys.

  • Im in my thirties now. The older I get, the more I start to hate hard sparring and like to do more techincal sparring. Like the Thais and the Russian wrestlers do all the time. In my opinion it's better to have lower intencity, but staying consistent every day then train your ass off and having to take time off to recover. Also, the injuries start to pile up and let's not forget about brain damage.

  • Is the guy a bully? That is what i see, the other guys pull their shots because he already goes too hard, and they pull their shots even more when he goes harder. Why does he not respect his partners?

    @robertalexandrubaba7065@robertalexandrubaba70652 ай бұрын
    • He's definitely not, it's the norm at this gym. Go watch all the other spar wars videos or any of the ones from 4D. These guys go absurdly hard with each other on the regular, and also go extremely hard on people with clearly less experience (go watch what happens to the tall guy from the first "lions eat first" video). On the contrary, go watch some of Liam Nolan's other sparring videos, as he usually is respectful and technical with his sparring. He's not a gym bully, he's just a vey experienced fighter who happened to go visit a gym where they all go super hard all the time, and he simply is matching the pace.
