这台木工车床是爷爷在没有机器电力的时期用的一种工具,那时候可以帮爷爷制作很多漂亮的工艺品
This woodworking lathe was a tool that Grandpa used when there was no machine power. At that time, he could help Grandpa make many beautiful crafts 本频道制作的所有视频都符合平台的使用政策,没有任何违规行为。
After having watched several of Grandpa Amu's videos, I've found Grandpa Amu to be a fascinating man. May you create, and build, for years to come Grandpa Amu.
I'm 70 and been woodworking since my 20s. Watching Grandpa Amu makes me feel like a rookie house painter watching daVinci at work. I bow before a true master.
Thoes technics are form traditional Chinese caltures, Grandpa Amu is one the great carpenter masters in China. Really recommend you to explore more traditional Chinese carpenter caltures. 😁
Beautiful words, Mr. William Styers. I salute you too.
@@gggzhang3593 the people of before had more art to work and we must learn for our daily life.
You work on wood to?
@@edgarmendoza3045 totally true
I've been a carpenter of one kind or another for 40 years... it's always a joy to watch a master at work. The filming and editing is masterful, too. Well done, Grandpa and friends!
Восхищена мастерством!!Руки золотые👍👍👍❤️
Wow! I am a retired Mechanical Engineer and this is such a wake up call, to use our natural abilities. He makes it look so easy but in reality this man possesses an awesome talent with wood and basic hand tools. A delight to watch you sir.
If we could all stop worring about what we dont have and start doing things with what we do have, we would all be much happier and get along! Much love for you Grandpa!
Well said!
I dont think everyday people realize the level of technical skill and knowledge it takes to build and envision this. Im in awe and I've been a woodworker my entire life, and I'm sure many other's on here are as well and It can't be said enough how incredible this man is.
I was wondering how he'd pull it off but he just did. I'm amazed
He is truly amazing.
You've been a bad wood worker, then
My first boss, a carpenter of North Kohala, even when I was just new to his shop, showed such wonders as sighting in a job site with his naked eye using the horizon and a ' sighting stick! Always perfect level and better than a transit of other skills. I was only starting at his own company and wished I could have worked for him longer and learned more. Such a master, in a time of rush , rush, he always took the time to care and do the work if a skilled man. Many man could only wish to work as well. Just as this master we watch now, Grand Pa's a gem!
Thank you grandpa awesome work my friend 🤜🤛😁

阿木爷爷 Grandpa Amu please make more things like this, tools too. I enjoy learning from you
Thank you, your a fine man.
Amazing job, I would be proud to have you as my grandpa
always stunning grandpa
Grandpa amu your Good
Aloha Grandpa Amu, I'm only 68 years old and disabled now for about 9 years, sulfuring from Vertigo now after healing from a death-dealing accident and no longer about to work to pay for my family's needs as before during my 40 years as a Carpenter using power tools. Your action in performing your 'tasks', gives me hope of working without power tools! Mahalo!
I have been making things from pallet wood lately. It is free and honest source of materials. Many things you can do with hand tools. Keep creating, dont let anything stop you!
I have faith in your success, you have the spirit of a warrior.
We're rooting for you sir!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 for you
Nice! I’d leave a like but you have 69 likes right now. Sorry man, but I can’t ruin such an achievement.
Великий МАСТЕР! Восхищаюсь и завидую.
My master craftsman.... Proud of you Grandpa Amu....
It's our pleasure to see what Granpa is doing. Because without him we cannot even imagine that a lathe can be made and works manually. 👏🏼
This man is a living legend.
no doubt
A legend with superhuman talent.

Hello, Brother Amu. Thank you for showing us so many wonderful crafts. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!
木爷爷你真太棒了🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍👍
You have the most beautiful wood shop I've ever seen. No dust, fresh air, the sound of running water and birds. Thank you for sharing your world with me. It is so inspiring.
@Rowena Tam absolutely!
Much respect to Grandpa Amu. I would happily watch a video of just the part of this project where he makes the lumber for this. A true master and a treasure. Again, respect.
True mastery. Love watching grandpa amu
El abuelo es un genio ¡Cuánta sabiduría!
One has to take your hat off for this chap. He is a true insperation. Never miss one of his videos. Each toy, each instrument turns into a work of art. He takes us back to a generation, and methods we never hope fades away. Well done Granpa we bow down to you out of respect/Martin
阿木爺爺真的太厲害了,古人的智慧讓阿木爺爺再造。謝謝你,讓我知道古老的車床不輸給現代的車床。
What a mechanic !!! Wowwww ....carry on...GRANDPA...
Grandpa Amu, thankyou for sharing your master craftsmanship.
Thank you Grandpa Amu, you bring back the basic tools that brought us to this point in industry.
Thank you for another good video. I enjoy watching you create mortise and tenon joints. I have seen many ways to make lathes, but your rubber-powered foot-pedal is new to me. Thank you. Many blessings to you and your family.
That is great Grandpa AMU I love your work
Awesome. Thank you, Grandfather.
Back in grandpa days, there was no diy KZhead. They just did stuff, built things and mastered Diy 🙏
Grandpa Amu that was a very well built lathe you made. Hope everyone there are safe an well. Will be watching for your next video.
I am also waiting to see the latest videos, too interesting and useful.

Holaa Abu . Buenos días para ti y vuestras familias y amigos , ánimo . Feliz finde semana . Ya hace una semana falleció mi madre . 💐💋👋😍👋😍👋😍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🇪🇸 Hasta luego .
Красавчик дедуля! Супер!
I watch 20 videos on how to sharpen a wood chisel scary sharp and I’m slowly learning how to use them. I’m learning quickly a bad chisel can be sharpen very sharp but the edge need constant care, a great tool can work smoother and longer with less down time. Grandpa amu is only showing the fun parts not the constant resharpening. Massive respect good tight joints that don’t need glue ,mind blown! Stay safe and heathy thanks for sharing.
I'm in total awe of this master. As many others have said, not only do you need to know about wood and its properties, but you also need to have deep knowledge of mechanical engineering, motive power, and so on and so forth. Incredible resourcefulness and technique as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills, Grandpa Amu!
A good handkraftsman do not need electical engines!!--Perfect greatings from Germany Jürgen
Thank you so much for sharing your craft with us..you teach by doing and we learn by viewing..thank you.
I think this is the future and not just the past, how lucky we are to still have this very special Grandpa to show us the way!
Tim, you may very well be right. Very astutely pointed out.
This is far more impressive than modern technology. They seemed to be smarter in the past by making more with less
I love this channel. Everyone here is so humble. I'm sure most of you are great carpenters as well (or eventually one day), yet you are so humble. Humble people make great things.
Awesome Grandpa Amu ! 👍❤ Very Talented ! I Salute you 😎👍
阿木爷爷好,看见您身体壮健,那就放心了。
Grandpa is a boss! I like how he set the cup down after he finished it like "hmmm. There you go!"
Yeah LOL. I did all this for that!
This man is a natural Master Craftsman, he can make tools to work with and beautiful utensils and keepsakes and toys. He is a remarkable man and is the Grandest Grandfather in the world. I would love to own something he made with his own hands. A wonderful wonderful person, we love Grandpa.
It is nice to hear the sound of your grandpa working. If i want music, i choose something els. All good. Take care
Just wonderful! Congratulations Grandpa Amu. (from Brazil)
The attention to detail... The precision... The craft.. it’s amazing.. even with power tools, some people still can’t achieve this.
I grew up on a farm using Roy Underhill’s philosophy of woodworking and the necessity of thrift. Grandpa Amu is an inspiration. The way he combines varying material to get his desired outcome is wonderful. I now know what to do with that old tire tube.
Grandpa Amu does an amazing job. Great skill!
Fabulous Awesome. Grandpa Amu are fantastic.
I love this channel. One of my favorite videos is when grandpa Amu builds the luban stool and it's always a joy to see him work with his family. Folks like grandpa Amu are truly golden threads in this tapestry we know as life.
Eloquently put, Anna : )
Thank you, YTM - call it, spontaneous evocation ..Stay safe :)
This man is amazing - you know who would be the survivor - both physically & mentally - in a serious situation.

For me, I'm not consider this as any kind of survivor expertise or survival challenge. Btw, what he's done surely are fantastic.
Вот это мастер!!! Отличный станок! Сделаю такой же! Спасибо!
阿木爺爺,手工精湛
Oh, wait! This needs, to be 1/10 of a mm thinner... Now, where did I leave my axe again? This guy does more with 5 rudimentary tools than most people these days with a whole warehouse
@Junjun best thing about amus videos is he using his axe as hammer
Grandpa Amu, you can build anything! Greetings from 🇩🇪 and stay healthy!
Hats off Grandpa Amu !!! Grandpa is avatar of daVinci !!! Amazing!!
What a talented man you are uncle ji
You're a great and humble teacher and most of all a lovely grandpa :) start the day with amu and no worries ♥️👍🏼
To construct something like this using only simple hand tools requires a level of skill you do not see much of today. You need more than knowledge of the tools and the techniques, you also need to know how wood works and behaves to make sure those tools and techniques will produce the desired result. I would hope to have even a third of this mans skill and knowledge.
kzhead.info/sun/hK6LmtKLeqNte2w/bejne.html
If it was an optional, I would hope to have all of his craftsman skills. 😁😁
Only a third you must be legend level 😁👍
I guess in his life you had to make do with what you had at the time and developed extraordinary skills out of necessity. Imagine him let loose in a fully equipped workshop.
I would be thrilled if I can reach 1/4 of his craftsmanship in my lifetime. It's my hobby this is or was his livelihood. Excellent!
Magical. I know it’s not magic, but it is. A true master, an amazing gift. Many blessing to him.
Envidio la energía de este hombre!!
I have worked with power tools most of my life, recently I have been doing small projects using only hand tools and it is very rewarding. Another awesome video and keep up the amazing work.
He knows how to make everything with a few tools . what an amazing talented grandpa.
Im sure Grandpa has also solution instead of ball bearings and metal nut bolts but grandson can't wait anymore 😄 Love to see modern tools vs grandpa's hands
Sayonara.beautiful job and creation. Grande abuelo!!!
I love his demonstration of ancient and lost techniques. I learn something from every video.
who knows maybe his son or daughter has to work in one of the chinese slave prisons producing cell phones or laptops?
@@GOLDSMITHEXILE What you hear about China is just a rumor. You are pathetic.
GOLDSMITHEXILE 2016 😂 lol nice joke
@@GOLDSMITHEXILE At least they can have a job, rather than Guantanamo.
@g % ye their government is awful. they should rather make war with other countries for oil,so they can say they have the best and only democracy on planet earth.
It is people like Grampa Amu who have made fabulous contributions to civilization through their creativity, skill and genius minds. It's a magnificent sight to behold.
Grandpa Amu you are impressive with your craft and a inspiration to your viewers
What a wonderful example of culture, craftsmanship, and patience. I've seen these hand lathes before in England and they represent the absolute ingenuity of a man at his best. Thank you and best wishes from Kauai....stay healthy!
I was missing you Grandpa! I am so glad to see you back with all of your wonderful things you make...blessings to you and your family. How is your little Grandson? Not so little anymore is he? So cute!🙃😇
Grandpa Amu has impeccable skills. His mind is magical and he makes beautiful crafts.God Bless and stay safe.🤗🤗❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Hermosa. La bieja escuela. Me recuerda a mi abuelito Dios bendiga. A este hombre
Grandpa Amu you are one of the most amazing, talented, hardworking people on this planet. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Everything to his precision; no nails, no glue, and no clamps, casually his norm.
really amazing really
That's right, I'm always waiting to see this old man's video.
Several screws and a bolt XD
@Apentogo it'll last longer than you might think it will. It's not like it's going to be left out in the elements. As for the tenons, that goes with any tenon joint. However, I'm sure he's already well aware of it and will tend to it as need arises.
You forgot the bolts and bearings. A lot of modern tools too
超愛爺爺😍😍😍
Wonderful to see this skilled craftsman construct this lathe
Grandfather ! You sir, remind me of my own Grandfather "Pete" I Lost him two years back he was always making these kinds of things . I do not subscribe to any of the U tube sites except yours . Thank you very much .
Absolutely beautiful. Makita has nothing on you sir. Fantastic.
Grandpa Amu you are a Genius and I really like your videos.
I’ve learned a lot from this old timer, Grandpa Amu is without a doubt a master carpenter and not just that he’s a master inventor, - if I’d live around this guys house I’d be staying over just to see what else I can learn also I like the fact that he employs the no nails tradition somehow everything is stronger and last longer, I thank you for your teachings- I’m a fan of your work,- my profession on the other hand instead of wood and hardly any tools, I get to use everything metal to repair/replace or make parts and pieces, I might just change it for carpentry so I won’t get to work on cold metal every morning, still making stuff is fun and satisfying at the end of the day.
