Making solid wood tenon and mortise hangers, hot wax process, can be used for hundreds of years

Today is an example of a hanger made of tenon-and-mortise structure. It is also the application of tenon-and-mortise in real life. Its structure is stable and firm. It uses beeswax for the waxing process. As long as it is not artificially damaged, it can be used for hundreds of years.
Life is full of flavors, life needs to laugh right!

  • Hello my friend Grandpa Amu, What a joy to watch you turn some old wood into a thing of beauty so nice, the Grandson wanted to hang his coat up and he didn't realize he had just learned a lesson from his Grand Father. Thank you for sharing the love.

  • 今天是利用榫卯结构做的一个衣架案例展示,也是榫卯在现实生活中的应用,其结构稳定,牢固,使用蜂蜡进行烫蜡工艺,只要不人为损坏,可使用几百年。Today is an example of a hanger made of tenon-and-mortise structure. • Watching something so beautiful come from a few bits of old wood with nothing but hand tools was a surprise. I will admit, when I saw the blocks of wax being broken in the bowl, I was expecting it to be melted by a wood fire. Then a power tool comes out of nowhere. Thank you for sharing. You're a true master of your craft.

  • Once again Grandpa Amu creates a useful and sturdy piece of furniture. I think it is worth mentioning that nearly all of the projects Grandpa does have very practical uses. From toys for his grandson to this coat rack, always useful and practical. Thanks for sharing this video and look forward to the next one. Your friend in Texas Paul.

  • You really are a master craftsman. You should get an apprentice to learn the way you use wood. Today people use machines to make things easier, but the way you make items is a pure joy to watch. Big hugs from England.

    • By watching these videos, we are his aprentices😊. Every woodworker I watch teaches me things that I go on to apply in my own woodwork either directly or by modifying it slightly to suit my needs. Plus he probably does teach his younger family members some things anyway and anyone who is interested generally.

  • My favorite Grandpa Amu video, and I’ve watched nearly all of them. How you got the base to fit so exactly is a true wonder to me. I could attempt to do that 100 times and am sure I’d never get it to fit properly. Thank you once again for the demonstration. Your skills and experience are inspiring.

  • I've watched enough of these to suspect that he has a background in wood working that included a lot of large power tools. He has things like that heat gun, cordless stuff and that really nice marking gage. I've seen a lot of it in my time. A professional Carpenter, Cabinetmaker, or other Fine Woodworker retires, quits, or otherwise looses their job and chooses the quietness of hand tools. Same precision, but a lot more care and artistry than when he's in the workshops making a run of a hundred or so of the same couch, or table, or whatever. Whatever the case, it's always a pleasure watching these relaxing and educational videos. Keep it up, and thank you.
