    • Actually it is more because of the association with the Sewol desaster. For the Korean audience the song is a personfication of the complicated Korean emotion "Han". For me it shows the stages of grief. This song can make me cry.

  • I'm what's known as OT7, this means I support every member of the group. ARMY calls having a "favorite", a "Bias". My bias in BTS, is whoever is singing in the microphone. BTS contains 7 Michaels. ARMY are very proud that the Jackson family have given BTS the thumbs up. I've rarely seen anyone who can sing & perform like them. Other groups now are working hard to try to be the new BTS but it's still going to be hard to repeat this original.

  • 09:13 when you said they were akward and 'Oh what do we do next?' You have to understand that these guys lived together, 24 /7 for over 7 years, including sharing one room when they started out and practicing for 18 hours a day without time off. They have a unique relationship with eachother and know eachother inside out and there is never any akwardness amongst them because they are 'brothers'. They cannot be compared to western artists and groups because their origins are unlike any western artists origins and paired with Korean society and culture, life is different for them. There is no ego with BTS, unlike western celebrity which is all about ego and adoration. It's not a gimmick or a trick or by design, it's the natural symbiosis of artists/fans of which neither can exist without the other, something BTS agrees with and respects without cynisism or agenda. Please try to resist judging them by western standards, because they are their own standard! Hope you dig deeper.

    • I think he meant awkwardness in the performance of having a blank space while performing and not having any choreo nor an audience to play with, not awkwardness with one another. He was speaking as a performer, knowing that moment in a studio space when you don't have an audience to play off of and you feel a tiny bit lost in that moment. Also they lived together for more like 11 - 12 years. Form pre-debut as trainees til last year. Suga, j-hope and RM moved into the dorm in 2010, Jin, JK and V in 2011 and Jimin in 2012. Yes, they bought their own places before last year, but they still mainly lived together because, as RM said, it was just easier when they were working on music and it was what they were all used to. Being alone was hard for them to get used to.

      @NanciBK@NanciBK8 ай бұрын
    • I agree that there is no awkwardness. They are more comfortable together than most blood related families, and refer to each other as brothers. I’m not sure what you perceived as awkwardness but you definitely misread the room. Same thing with being tired. These guys do 3 hour concerts complete with choreo. This little concert is nothing for them.

  • So, the guitar arragement in the last song... It might sound a bit strange but it's on purpose and it's got a really deep meaning. In some parts of the song it "imitates" the sound of a cruiser siren of alarm. Spring Day goes hard in so many ways... The MV is even more daunting, it's about the Sewol ferry disaster from 2014 where 306 passengers died, including around 250 students -teenagers-. BTS were really brave doing this MV. If you want to know more about this I recommend the Italian Army Documentary kzhead.info/sun/edaNZMWXfalso30/bejne.html It's hard to watch, you'll need tissues, but it shows what BTS is really made of, brave young people with heart who want to make the world a better place.

BTS songs are almost always about the message and thats what endears them to legions of fans.....critics and reactors coming lately to "see what the fuss is all about" really miss the plot...que sera sera....thats why there will not be another bts...if people wanting to duplicate their success dont get the messaging part of their discography then you really dont understand and cannot start to even scratch the surface of the bangtan phenomenon...

  • Member's name from left to right J-Hope, Suga, Jungkook, V, Jin, RM, Jimin. You've probably heard Dynamite because it was played a lot, it was their first fully English song and it earned them their first number 1 on the billboard hot 100 chart and their first Grammy nomination. The main reason why the set up is like this is because this was during the pandemic (2020) and BTS couldn't travel to the US so they had to record this performance from South Korea. Spring Day is a legendary kpop song (we call it the Queen), it's still on Korean music charts even though it came out over 6 years ago and it's considered one of the best kpop songs of all time. People often associate Spring Day with the Sewol Ferry Disaster where hundreds of Korean high school kids died, the music video is also very emotional. I hope you can check it out.

  • The lyrics are a MASSIVE part of what we love about BTS and what makes them so extraordinary. This is not something you can say about many boy bands or even just artists in general. Their music resonates so deeply with so many of us because it's a profound exploration of so many aspects of humanity and life - society, oppression, youth, loneliness, friendship, love, loss, anxiety, self-reflection, hope... yes it's great music and incredibly diverse and well-made, but the lyrics they write and stories they tell are one of the most sacred and special things about BTS. It doesn't matter that so many of us don't speak or understand Korean; we have so many translations available to us by amazing selfless translator fans that help us understand the depth of their words.

  • It's not so much that V (the man in the tie) was tired. It is much more that he is a baritone singing in a world of tenors and having to hit those high notes, which he actually does very well because he has a very wide range.. Once you get settled into them and hear more of their works, you'll get it. I would recommend that you watch the Bangtan Guide by Taylor before getting too much more into them. Or maybe some notes compilation videos for each of the vocal line members.

  • Your respect will grow for them the more you see, especially live performances where they sing this well and dance with no lip synching. They do use autotune for sound effects but don't need it for pitch as you can see from many hours of footage of them randomly bursting into song on live streams. I don't think their voices were getting tired in the kast song, Spring Day, i think it was artistic choice for emotional effect. This song is called the Queen and is highly emotional. RM wrote it whilst thinking about missing his friend and the lyrics can be interpreted as a missing a friend or loved one who you can't see or has passed away. The MV has a multitude of symbolism relating to the Sewol Ferry tradegy, in which over 300 people, mostly school students, lost their lives. The tragedy was caused thtough a corrupt governent sign off to allow the ferry to carry 3 tomes the load it should. It capsized and as it sank the children were told to stay in their cabins by a repeating tannoy message. The captain and crew evacuated but most of the students were not. The coastguard were heavily criticised as they hanpered attempts by civilian divers to rescue them, and the government didn't want anyone to know about the corruption and fed false news reports saying they had all been rescued, blacklisting anyone who spoke up and they refused to bring the ferry back up after. The government was finally impeached and the ferry raised. BTS hid symbols in the MV to avoid being blacklisted and donated money to the families of those children lost. For your own interest, even if you don't film a reaction, i recommend watching the MV and the explanation by Italian Army, it is heart wrenching but worth it.

  • If you're interested in the roles the members have in the group, I thought I'd give you a little primer because there is potential for confusion in the role names. Of course all the members dance and sing, but each one has areas of strength, reflected in groupings called the "vocal line," "dance line" and "rap line." Within each category/line, the "main-[vocal/dancer/rapper]" is kind of first among equals and often takes on special responsibilities. The other members in each category are called "lead-" and there can be "sub-" as well. There is considerable overlap: 4 members belong to multiple "lines." For instance, J-Hope is a "main dancer" and is the de-facto dance leader of the group. He learns the choreography first, teaches the others, gives notes, etc. But he is also a "lead" rapper and "sub" vocalist (he sang the intro to the 3rd song, Spring Day, and does a lot of the background/fill tracks). Jimin is the other "main" dancer and a "lead" vocal. Jung Kook is the "main" vocal but he is also a "lead" dancer. He's the one with the slight rasp in Tiny Desk (unusual for him actually) and he sang the bridge you liked in ON. He also records the guide tracks and does a lot of the ad libs and vocal acrobatics. Jung Kook has the most "mainstream pop" vocal tone and has perfect pitch. You've probably been hearing his solo track "Seven" without even realizing ... it dropped last month and has been all over the radio. V is a "lead" vocalist and now a "lead" dancer as well. Jin is a vocalist. RM and Suga are rappers. RM, as BTS's overall leader and founding member, is called "main" rapper and Suga is "lead." But I think everyone (BTS and ARMY) considers Suga to be a "main" rapper too. He is also a legit producer in and out of BTS and just finished a brilliant (IMHO) 28-concert solo tour in the US and East Asia.

He also adds any background vocals, ad libs, etc... on just about Every BTS song. The 3 rappers, are now singers as well. BTS does not stand on laurels, but, learn as much as they can from each other. From singing to rapping, writing music, lyrics, producing. They can be considered all rounders. With Suga being the Best Producer and songwriter as well as RM & JHope. Jungkook also produces music and takes videos and produces & directs then.

I got into BTS a little over a year ago and learned as much as I could about how they approach music and singing. It’s quite fascinating to see the difference between Korean culture in pop music versus the American standard we are used to seeing. Thank you for being open about what you see and feel and willing to learn more. They are definitely unique…especially their personalities when they aren’t singing. 💜

  • That's called the Jimin effect. Once you Jimin you can't Jimout! Jungkook also has perfect pitch. He often does multiple background vocal for their songs and their individual projects. 💜💜💜

  • I first discovered BTS at the end 0f 2016 and have been so impressed with their story. From their very humble beginning living together sleeping in one room piled on top of each other in bunk beds to slowly gaining recognition and following. Watching their dance practices and hearing about their never ending days of practice and pushing the limits and not getting to leave for hours upon hours morning to night, till they got it right, not one move could be out of sync. The fact that the members practically raised Jungkook taking him to school and being there for his graduations and Jin cooking their meals and the family they were to the family they are now. NO group of artists in the states can compare. These men were raised in this business. They grew up in it and I have huge respect for them and what they have been through and they deserve every success they have earned.

    • there is a little tuning on their vocals but that's not bad! they're still hitting the notes, the auto tune just makes it cleaner

    • There's a lot of autotune here actually, but it doesn't mean they can't sing. It means there's a lot of autotune. For some reason.

    • V voice is more natural and clear... There is no Doubt of autotune... He is the most natural one❤❤❤❤.... And yes his both new songs are awesome... Very different... Audio and video both❤❤❤..... But mostly people dont like soft music.. they like dance numbers amd fast tracks... So yaa maybe these songs will not do that good in business 😢... But its okk... Many people like soft soothing calm music..❤❤❤❤.. hope he do rhe same in future ❤❤... Good luck for him

    • i mean in this performance there is definitely autotune you can forsure hear it but that doesn't negate their singing ability or the fact that they sang amazing this day - it just keeps the levels and the tones even throughout the whole performance

  • BTS often leaves spaces in songs that ARMY sings or that we sing together. Some songs even have likes that we sing. In magic shop, there is a line were they sing "so show me" and we respond "I'll show you". Truly beautiful to witness but also to watch the live of it. 😊
