A lot of people in the comments telling me it's not a let's go game, I know that after seeing the reveal properly now😅 in the moment when we saw the let's go style in the battle sequences it was just the first thing to pop in to my head haha!
Hi HDvee, appreciate the great content m8. I am not meaning to be offensive in any of my comments, people are replying to me with abuse 1st to my informed arguments and I'm only trying to rebut them. I feel this game is a let down HD, I saw it from your initial reaction, come on you know most of Us wanted near to if not DQ11 levels of visuals. Imagine exploring Mt Coronet in that! This is basically a dressed up straight port of your typical 3DS game. Not acceptable for $60 based on the outcry over Sword/Shield
I think it well have the graphics of let's go but some battle mechanics. Legends though....seems like it well be an open-world ranger-isq game.

I'm so confused... some people are complaining that the art style isn't close enough to the original and some are complaining that the art style is too close. This DEFINITELY looks like they tried REALLY hard to make it look like Sinnoh in 3D, I really like it.
I just don't like how the game itself will be to close to the game itself. Every single pokemon remake is basically a new revamped version of their original game but with a newer plot, ideas, etc. But this will just be a better looking version for d&p. Just that.

@@nycoo2499 game freaks already explained that the new remake games are just. Remakes. They are going to stay as faithful as possible. That could either mean that they are planning to change the plot and add new concepts, but still want to remain as faithful to the original games as much as they can without having to change any new ideas. But it could also mean that they arent gonna change anything. Its just gonna be an exact copy of d&p. And in every game from gen 6, they would always include a hint to a new mechanic or something seriously important in the names of the games. But we had nothing like that in the new games. I still do have hope that they might change some stuff and make it a better version of d&p with new ideas and concepts, but I wouldn't hold that much hope.
@@crabohato4954 That's what many demanded. Remakes. The game came out what over a decade ago? Plus many new Switch players probably never played it before so remaking it with a fresh graphical style makes perfect sense. Plus not everybody likes the new stuff they've tried in their newer games.
@@GarrusN7 back In 2014, 12 years had past since ruby and sapphire, yet they remaked it and it was a success. Back in 2009, a decade had passed since gold and silver were released, and they remaked it and came out as a success. Back in 2004, 8 years had past since pokemon red and blue were released, and they remaked it and it was redundant success. And in 2018, it had been 10 years since pokemon yellow had come out and the remakes of it was somewhat of a success. Although it was ok it with older fans, it was a success with newer fans, and they brought back new or old concepts like the battle masters and mega evolution. Theres also the appearance of Red, Blue, and Leaf from the manga. Characters only old fans would know about, but new players didn't mind. What I'm saying is that they can clearly make games where both new and old players like it. And even if a game had come out a decade old, they had still remaked it. Many people are begging for mega evolution because it was the perfect addition for the pokemon series, yet they then again just wipe it off the table. There was the addition of the delta episode which many people are asking for a similar thing now. Game Freak can clearly do these things yet its if they want to do so. But by having such a bad connection between itself and its old players, it keeps pushing more and more away. Many people wanted sinnoh remakes and have expressed what they wanted in these games for years. But because Game Freak is like the way it is, they've just swept these wishes under the rug and have just ended up making the relationship between them and old players worser. So they can clearly appeal to both new and old players, but it seems they're just too deaf. Many wanted remakes of d&p, but they wanted them to followed the "remake formula" which was working perfectly for everyone. Old and new players.

I appreciate how they fixed the sprite for Cynaquil by giving back its fire on the back. Also, Cynda and Oshawott are arguably two less used starters so it's nice to see them get some shine. The water in Brilliant and Shining looks pretty good. Even the Diala/Palkia statue looks accurate to the manga version. Also, it doesn't look like the catching mechanic is entirely Let's Go since the trainer throwing the pokeball is third-person rather than the first-person of Let's Go
Definitely not. The only evidence really out there is the Pokemon of the year 2020 results. Oshawott was 7th place in the Unova category, but Serperior was 6th, so Oshawott technically isn't the most popular Unova starter. If you're going off of first stages alone, Oshawott wins; Snivy was thirteenth place, and Tepig wasn't even in top 30. Going off of the same source for Johto, Cyndaquils line beat the other two lines by a bit. Typhlosion was 4th place, and Cyndaquil was 8th. Totodile was in 10th and Chikorita was 14th. I don't even have to look at the rankings to know that Rowlet is easily the most popular Alola starter. I actually think they chose the most popular starters from those regions, which makes sense. Having popular starters makes people more likely to want to choose a starter.
@@Wheeler07 Well Snivy would've been more popular overall i'd argue, if it's moveset didn't suck so much. Then again, some people think Serperior looks feminine like Primarina so who knows.
@@Wheeler07 someone pointed out that Decidueye and samurott fit the old Japanese theme (archer and samurai). They called typhlosion a warrior but that’s where the theory kinda falls off imo

I'm grew up playing gen 4 and it's he generation of which my family has all but one game of. I don't care about the art style it's just that a region that I recently completed again is being remade. And an open world prequel is happening to. This has had me excited.
We gen 4 lovers are being blessed! Getting remakes of gen 4 plus an open world prequel with detailed story of the mythology of the Sinnoh region. I remember when I used to wonder how everything was in old Sinnoh every time Cynthia was talking about the mythos and everything I read from the canalave city’s library.

Im so happy and exited to pick up both of these games, I get to relive memories from my favorite generation in pokemon BD/SP and make new ones in a open world pokemone game we have all been dreaming of since we were kids that is based around arceus. All I ask for the remakes is to have the platinum pokedex and have a giratina episode where you go to the distortion world and I hope they aren't rushing Pokemon legends: Arceus
Some poketuber I watched (forgot who) pointed out that Porygon- Z was in the trailer, which was a Platinum exclusive Pokemon in the Sinnoh games. I have hope and confidence that they will include the Platinum Pokedex.
It sounds like they’re really pushing the “faithful” part unfortunately :/ I kinda doubt there will be any distortion world/big platinum features aside from the updated dex

I'm glad at least some people see the short-changing in this latest shock by them (shock: not even Gamefreak overcharging this time!!)Anyway, Legends is a new and ambitious vision. Open-world and literally a world of scope to add content and more gameplay elements. Yes, it's 'Breath of Pokemon' but who doesn't want to borrow part of Breath's brilliant engine =)

I wonder why you are confused about the chibi style: Remember 2D games? They had chibi style sprites and overworld. In battle, the trainers were full scaled, no more chibi. This is the EXACT SAME thing here. I don't see why you're all being perplexed by that, and not on the original games then xD

I personally was just really hoping for Sinnoh to get the same treatment ORAS and HGSS gave Hoenn and Johto, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to be the case. I have no doubt that the change in style for the remakes comes after unnecessary backlash from the fanbase for SwSh’s “awful” graphics (which weren’t even that bad, imo)
People were afraid that Gamefreak would ruin the Gen 4 remakes and instead a different company perfectly preserved Gen 4 and Gamefreak instead made a game we all wanted. This is great. This Gamefreak and Pokémon’s redemption arc.
@@_ericfish7 Legends will roughly be on the same engine as Sword and Shield though, so basically Sinnoh still was remade in that style too.

The people complaining about the DP remakes should just be thankful that they actually got them. They could have just thrown those games in the trash and focused on Legends Arceus, but instead, they chose to ALSO release that game. This is the first time in a while that Pokemon has exceeded my expectations.

The gen 4 remakes looks like a upgraded version of the ds ones but with the sword and shield game mechanics and possibly megas but also I think pokemon legends graphics are a hint to what gen 9 graphics are gonna look like
Love Legends. They've botched the re-makes so terribly for me, lazy! But I'll let them off just for Legends. It's a great ambitious direction and totally beautiful!
I'm glad they went with this artstyle. Take a look at the sprites from the originals: They look the same. Generally, the game tried to look just like the originals, just in 3D. Which was the exact right call to me. I love the style and I'm really looking forward to it!

I was watching other poketubers react to the reveal and idk which one that said it but the reason why the starters are Cyndaquil, Rowlet and Oshawatt is because since it's the past the pokemon that represent hunters are Typhlosion as the "Warrior", Decidueye the "Archer" and Samurott the "Samurai/ Swordsmen"
It's basically Medieval Pokemon, Legends is. Does this mean we can use Rapidash to breeze through the fields? Ooh, and maybe we can ride our Charizard through the skies freely? :O

Honestly was hoping for more of a Sword and Shield type Diamond and Pearl so that we had a higher chance of getting new forms of pokemon and potentially megas..But that open world game really does open so much potential for some amazing stories. Wasn't there a rumor a long time ago for a past version of kanto and a future version of kanto as well? Would be amazing to see new forms and old forms of pokemon in these games.
Yes there are wild battles! If you look at a point in the trailer where the trainer is battling a Buizel. He had his Staraptor out and the Buizel was just by itself (no trainer). That leads me to believe there are wild battles. In LGPE, you didn't throw a mon out when you had a wild encounter. It just showed the wild mon in PGO fashion.

The style was chosen to preserve the original look and atmosphere, as long as keeping the original scale. Its an awesome call, it looks like the originals, but with a new twist to it.

It's a straight port of a 15 year old game for $60. It's the worst possible thing that could have happened to the gens. But thank God for Legends: I can actually see Mt Coronet in glorious shader2.0 bathed 3D HD after all!!
I just warched it as a video after so I didn't have any buffering problems.
I think in the village, you can keep your mon's there and have them fenced in to your house maybe.

I wonder if Legends is going to be influenced by the historical Japanese settling of Hokkaido. Kind of seems like the equivalent time period in the Pokemon world, and we know Sinnoh is based on Hokkaido.

The pokeballs aren't exactly the same. In the movie, they turn a knob to open the Pokeball, and I'm pretty sure they were made of metal. These pokeballs are a completely new concept. Also, are Apricorns made of wood? Do they count as a type of wood? If so, they may as well name a professor after them.

There's a reason why it's Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott. Sinnoh is based off the island Hokkaido, and Legends is set during the Edo/early Victorian era. During that time, also the Hokkaido island was mostly deserted but the few settlements were already receiving foreign influences. Think about Floraroma Town. The flowers are a tribute to the Dutch who imported flower cultivations into Japan. Back to the starters. The Archer (Decidueye), Samurai (Samurott) and the fast spreading Gunpowder (Typhlosion) were the most dominant elements in the Japanese warfare of that period.
Good luck catching Munchlax, and Female Combee in those remakes. If they are faithful to the original it won't be a problem at all.
Feebas was a mess to catch.
@jow Yes, it was in a lake in Mt. Cornet. There were a only few tiles were Feebas could be located. I remember I blacked out to Cynthia's Milotic.
@jow Nah. Feebas is catchable, but Feebas in gen 4 is one of the rarest Pokemon to get out of the entire franchise.

I fairly certain the switch pro will be announced this year, and Pokémon Legends will be on it!
Real question, will the sword and shield pokemon be transferable to sinnoh remakes? Otherwise pokemon home is useless if you get it with hopes of transfering pokemon from 3ds to switch

Is it just me who would also like to see a Switch TCG game like the GB RPGs of old. Those were really fun, and they could be well done in this new Chibi style, and the massive number of new cards since the days they were produced would make it quite an involved battle system with lots of potential online competition. It could be small enough to be an online download only too.

@@nycoo2499 check the official web page artworks and look for the yellow logos in their arms. Then realize that the desk on the back of the "lab" thing is too modern to be from the feudal age. Plus, the flags on the sides of the desk on the lab also have that logo (I think). Cyrus being the professor is something I'm not sure but if he turns out not to be it I bet he will appear anyways.

As far as the starters, I can't confirm this, but it seems like they chose the fan favorites from 3 different gens that aren't Kanto or Sinnoh. But I love all 3 of them, so I might just be biased lol
I think the idea for the non-sinnoh starters is that this is supposed to be the first time sinnoh is being fully explored and documented. The starters we know haven’t been chosen yet and still can be caught in the wild. Not sure why these were the options, but I’m not gonna complain about that

@Katsu maybe if it was the main game in production. But i think they wanted legends to be the center of attention. I know a different company is doing the remake but I think the choice they made was the right one being making it as nostalgic looking as possible and basically not fixing what isn't broken being sinnoh games were so great. I wish it wasn't as chibi as it is but i also think its very cute and nostalgic. This is just my opinion, I respect yours though and can agree to disagree, respectfully.

Not a fan of the Chiibi style, but holding my judgement until I’ve played the game
I didn't like it either at first, but after watching the trailer at least a dozen times, It's already starting to grow on me.
Here's my point of view, let me know what you think: 2D games had Chibi sprites. This remake is all 3d. But stay faithful to the style chosen. I see that as an absolute win.
Also note that it still has 9 more months of development and I am highly confident that it will look better by the time of its release.

I think people going crazy because it isn't the style they specifically wanted is a little childish because if they want them to change it it will take even more years.

I never played diamond and pearl so am looking forward to that. Legends will be good if it's not like sword and shield. I'm worried it will be just empty. If it has mysteries and all that to find that will be good.

What i hope is that they add some pokemon to d&p like more fire types like flareon or my favorite fire type is darmanitan,vulpix ,arcanine fletchling,houndour another fire type besides chimchar and ponyta so if you need a fire for some reason you don't have to grind a low level ponyta or pick chimchar i hope they add some new pokemon because the new people would like to see there favorite pokemon hopefully me phanpy can be added to the game but just imagine if they added new pokemon teams will be unique everyone would actually like that type of remake bring back national dex just for the best selling game

Some will complain. It is a tale as old as time. You can’t please everyone. Seeing my fave Cyndaquil instead of a Pikachu or a Charmander has me very hyped for Legends. Finally giving more starters attention than the obvious ones.
