  • The NBA lost me with the point shaving ref scandal. The way the NBA handled that investigation or lack of an investigation was corrupt at best. There were other refs besides Tim D. that were breaking ref rules like gambling in Vegas, etc. The NBA wanted no part of getting to the truth of the scandal, the NBA just wanted to protect its brand. Players like Rasheed that were fined due to bad calls made by refs that were point shaving should be able to sue the NBA for that fine money back.

    • I grew up in Muncie, to of the many talented hoopers there that helped to mold my game were Bonzi's dad and Rasheed Shabazz (R.I.P) . They gave me the ability to go to college in Los Angeles , walk on and play college ball. I've played with so many NBA players, euro league guys and major college guys that I never imagined I would. I have a couple "friends" that are NBA refs right now and guys that help mentor our ref's at the Drew League. This time period that Sheed and Bonzi are referring to me was very easy to see some of the refs manipulate games. I used to point out stuff to my friends and teammates. who thought I was tripping. I used to tell them that it doesn't take a lot of bad calls, just the ones that change momentum and affect players on the floor at crucial times. Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure Rasheed was referring to that ref from Pomona! And for those who didn't know, both Chic Hearns and Byron liked Bonzi.

I remember on one play Shaq ram him over and knocked him down while dunking the ball, call the foul call on Sabonis, the. Kicks Sabonis while he’s on the ground and Sabonis got a technical on top of it. Unbelievable.

  • The game that made me realize the league was rigged was Lakers vs Warriors in 2013, the game where Kobe injured his Achillies tendon. The Lakers needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The problem was Steph came out of the gate looking like he was about to drop 50. Lakers proceeded to shoot over 50 free-throws that game and narrowly won. That was the most blatantly rigged game I've ever witnessed live.
