I went through The Art of Cuphead (as well as a few other sources) to find every cartoon stated by name to have inspired something in Cuphead! It's unfortunate that, at the time of writing this at least, there's no expanded Art of Cuphead to include more about the DLC, but we'll take what we can get!
As usual, a big thank you to Sean for recording all of the Cuphead gameplay seen here! As for the cartoons that have video (due to the fact that I'm 95+% sure that they aren't copyrighted), I recorded those myself.
I'd like to apologize for taking so long to upload a video. There's a lot of reasons as to why this took forever, and I think it'd be easier if I just explained them in a video coming soon. Hi everyone! Of course, in typical me fashion, I missed a few things: - Flowers and Trees was also used as inspiration for the background of Railroad Wrath - Lonesome Ghosts is the reason why MOST of the ghosts in Cuphead are blue. Therefore it didn't only inspire the coloration of the Blind Specter, but also of Cuphead/Mugman's ghosts, Katzenwagen's rat ghosts, the ghost of Sally's husband, and the Isle IV NPC. If you know of any others (I started working on this four months ago so someone could have revealed something since then), please share! Also, let me know what you think of the ones I did include!
You missed all references to Minstrel cartoons. Maybe it deserves its own video?
Cala Maria’s design is based on Betty Boop’s design as well as the moth lady from moth and the flame.

@@Guruc13 Is there something with The Goddess of Spring (1934) it kinda cracks me up that cartoons Shaun pointed out rip off Disney shorts Friz Freleng is a….interesting man to day the least but you can point it out for me on that one tho i still don't think Cab Calloway talking about shooting craps in Snow White (1933) is made of malicious intent but Devil is modeled after cats found in Morning, Noon and Night (1933) and with the face of the Devil dudes from red pot Mamma (1934) there was also this reference to Pluto's Judgement Day (1935) The Devil has a black body and yellow eyes cause of the cat dude who closes his one eye and the cats do the same with their eye-shine gloss and say justice but there was a gag in it with Uncle Tom of course so maybe you can call Cuphead racist for that i mean Undertale lifts a sound clip for Flowey from a racist cartoon after all I don't know if i can stand on his point really i remember Shaun not knowing who Bill "Bojangles" Robinson was and thought it was a stock character to compare to King Dice when Cab Calloway is right there (I thought the Dice Palace from Gunstar Heroes reference was cool) but has the face of one of Popeye Sinbad guys which is pretty orientalist i guess you can point that one out i mean we have a Genie boss I get tropes but this case is a real slippery slope for Cuphead but these racist cartoons rip off already existing cartoons that are inspirations to Cuphead so i don't know if i could call Cuphead racist maybe if Cuphead's Casino backgrounds didn't lift from Snow White (1933) with the devils and ghosts i could maybe call it unfortunate but it's slippery with tropes but there has been times where dice was not in a racial context in cartoons take Columbia Scrappy for an example still tho i understand your concern
