  • Never has a stylist ever given me volume when blow drying and styling my hair. They pull it straight down, plastered to my head. I always hate it and have to wear a hat home, haha! I just bought a Voloom upon your recommendation. Thanks!

    • Thats what I have experienced too. My stylist is great with color but when it comes to blowdrying and styling my hair she never gives me any volume on top and then will curl it when some of the hair isn't 100 percent dry so I feel like it is being damaged, I have fine hair so am always careful how much heat I use on it.

    • Me too! I always ask for volume (and I have thick hair with lots of body) and I leave with the hair plastered to my head and it looks thin. I don't get it! I immediately re-blow dry when I get home!

I have struggled with my frizzy wayward hair all my life and although blow drying has helped a lot I had never come across the technique of re directing hair before and it has been a game changer. My head of dull looking horse hair is now soft, shiny, and it moves. Thank you so very, very much.

  • Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only crazy lunatic who crimped the root of their hair for extra volume. And I thought I was being so clever and creative. Didn't know this was a thing!!! By the way, I'm going to get a haircut next week, and I'm going to show the hairdresser this video and ask him to give me an angled bob cut, just like yours. Summer, I love your haircut and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your copper brown hair colour. I always wished I had red hair but I have thick dark brown Persian hair, it does not like being bleached. One day I will muster up the courage to dye my hair copper brown, I hope it turns out as beautiful as yours (fingers crossed). 💖💖💖

  • Thank you for this! My hair is a similar length and while I have the regular round brushing technique down for sides of my head, the crown and front have always stumped me. The blow dry brush also looks really fun- I'm going to go watch your video for the smaller Revlon dryer brush next. My hair is so fine that I need a lot of tension and grip from any brush and I like that the T3 has a lot of close bristles. It's just so expensive! 🥲

  • Great tutorial Summer. I wish I could afford new tools, but I only have the Revlon blow dry brush, which gets so hot, so fast, I can barely touch my hair, to me, it is very hot. I may just be a wimp, lol. But I tried to tease my fine straight hair, years ago, but all that does is cause tangles that are for me very difficult to take out. Can you maybe make a tutorial on the teasing and how to detangle teased hair? Seriously, my hair really does not like to be teased. I see you teased a bit in this video, or do you have a link to an older video that addresses that problem? It is fine straight hair, that I have, even Velcro rollers are difficult to use no matter how careful I am to use them and roll them, it just finds a way to get tangled as it dries/cools down. Thank you for this video though, will try doing those tips you showed with the Revlon I currently own. Oh I should add, I only use the lower heat setting on my Revlon, as I feel the louder stronger one gets way hotter faster. I had to check I guess it has a cool shot I never used that, but it is oval, not round

The revlon had alot more hair breakage in the bristles…the conair had hardly any hair breakage in the brush. The conair had more gentle bristles. The revlons bristles were farther apart. Either of them work miracles with multiple cowlicks….

I have VERY fine, thinning hair with this same Cut and I can do this blowout in less than 10 Minutes!! I’m not NEARLY as precise with the sections at ALL but I do use the same steps and technique with my T3 and it works!! In 10 minutes or less I have a really nice blowout thanks to Summer’s technique! It’s true that my blowout doesn’t last as many days as hers because I’m not as precise but I’m MORE than happy with the results I get with my 10 minute blowout!! ❤️🌹
