    • Hmmm, if you watch the footage back, notice when you interrupt the Recoiless reload (the part for putting the rocket in, to locking the back in place) it consumes a Second Rocket. You can see it disappear from your back pack. Wierd Bug.

  • Today I learned that you can severly cripple a Hulk by taking out one of its legs. They will become incredibly slow if they lose their leg armor. Destroying both will kill the hulk. So if your aim sucks like mine, going for the leg is a viable strat. This should work with any weapon that breaks medium armor like laser cannon or autocannon. You can even use the GL (5 or so shots) to take out both legs. Dont know if it makes a difference with launchers though

    • Amazing tip. I'll try that out when messing with the HMG again (same armor pen as AMR, laser cannon, and autocannon). Might also be useful on the HMG emplacement. Hitting that eye is dang difficult at times. I noticed that bot legs are normally a weakspot (can two shot a devastator with a slugger to the leg); but for some reason I didn't considering doing it to a hulk.

    • its nice but also somewhat inconsistant with bots. launchers ect get interupted easily from incoming fire and even if the hulk is moving at times it can miss completely. Ems strikes are the most consistant way to hit the legs but even then you can miss or get tapped from a distance. I have heard for grenades at least you can kill them throwing it under the hulk but i have not got a chance to try with launcher but hitting under the hulk would be easier to manage.

    • I suspect the lockon weirdness with the Spear is using the same code enemies use to spot you, since you can hide behind vegetation and such. If that's the case then a buff to the Spear would be just giving it its own specialized way to determine line of sight.

  • I think they intended to make it seem like the cooldown on firing the Quasar was related to the heat sink display. On a temperate planet they both complete at about the same time. On a cold planet, though, the sink cools faster but the fire delay remains the same.

    • ^ This Trying it on vandalon when it first came out, and often the coil was at 0, but I couldn't fire right away. it seems to have an actual internal cooldown separate from cooling, which I assume will get fixed to align with coil cooling at some point.

  • 8:15 One thing you missed here is a reload bug with the RR. If you resume the reload after the new shell has been inserted, and consumed from your backback, but before the lid has been closed, the reload will eat another shell from your backpack. If you resume and cancel repeatedly you can eat all the shells in your backpack in a couple seconds and then it refuses to finish the reload. I reported this bug so hopefully it'll get fixed at some point.

  • An amazing teamwork mechanic for the spear would be laser guidance. Like if an ally is carrying the ammo pack they can pull up a targeting laser to select the missles target

    • A laser designator support weapon or side arm would be outstanding. Theoretically it could work alongside other stratagems like orbital laser or precision orbital. Which acts like some EDF Air Raider builds

  • I want the Spear to lock-on exactly how curving bullets happens in a game called WANTED: Weapons of Fate. You aim at any part of an enemy, hold fire, a visual trajectory appears, centered at the enemy's center of mass. Then you move your camera around to adjust the trajectory angle and release the button to shoot.

  • A lot of the whining I see from people about the weapons in this game is their inability to understand that almost _everything_ is a "side grade". It's all about trade-offs and complimenting what your teammates are bringing.

  • to me the recoilless suffers from relying on teamwork a lot, which works with friends but not with randoms. i echo the sentiment that people should be able to assist reloads from the backpack of the recoilless user, instead of having to exchange and carry your spare rockets in their own backpack slot. Would make the assist reload mechanic a lot more viable on the fly. also spear should fire mini nukes change my mind.

  • RIP Stun Nade vs Bile Titan 2024-2024 Also, Spear can one shot head shot Bile Titans but it's fairly inconsistent as placement is beyond your power. Most reliable means I've seen is drawing aggro at extreme range then locking on, ideally over even terrain so the Titan doesn't turn midflight. Lastly, Spear will most likely never receive an AP buff to its AOE to make its damage more reliable as the Patriot had that with its rockets and it was treated as a bug and recently fixed.

    • There is a PS5 vs PC bug in the game right now. The Bile Titans are WAY more resilient to head shots if you don't have a PS5 player in the lobby. You can 2-shot a titan with a rail gun on PS5, but it takes ~20 on PC.

  • Another thing to add about RR: i has the best snap. That is, time to go from primary to 1 dead charger is the shortest with RR. Even with EAT, switching to it adds a second to extend the tube.

  • I have a friend who likes the recoilless and when we play together I use the recoilless. Being able to reload each other whenever we need it is a blast and leads to us blowing everything up. I like the EAT and Quasar better in randoms but the Recoilless really shines when you communicate with your team.

  • I hope they fix the bug where if you cancel the reload for the recoilless rifle it ends up eating an extra rocket for the reload, meaning practically your ammo is cut in half.

  • This video convinced me to use the RR, quasar is very fun, but playing helldive on automatons today was simply a bit painful, I only had about a 50% chance of being able to shoot my target as there was just so much likelyhood of getting ragdolled by rockets and tank shots

  • As I used the spear more I too came to the conclusion that it has the arc thrower targeting problem! I was having fun getting up on high ground and providing artillery support for my team, but I really wish it could one-shot tanks. With how awkward and slow it is to use and how little ammo you get it feels really bad to spend 2/5 rockets just to kill one tank.

  • Iirc, the spear lock on oversight, as you have phrased it, has been acknowledged by the devs on discord. This kind of problem takes a while to fix and they are going to address it later when there isn't as much pressure for other game breaking bugs and crashes.

  • you can also oneshot the turrets/cannons with a slugger round to the vents (non-glowy part near the heatsink) after shooting a rocket at them! this makes the slugger another good pairing with any rocket

  • People who are propagating that the Quasar cannon is better than the recoilless (or the even more brain dead take that it replaces it) are not considering the painful “spool up” of the laser. Every missed opportunity for good shot placement that came from the EAT’s now comparably superficial barrel extension animation time is now doubled or tripled in frequency or reduction in margin of error with the Quasar. It’s very likely that you can be interrupted while spooling the cannon, which means that your contribution was not that you missed the critical shot and damaged an alternative location, but instead just stood there and looked at your target. When you want armor dead, you want it dead fast, and the Quasar has many upsides to account for it being the least comfortable in its most ideal circumstances of just being immediately ready to fire.

    • @@thiccfila I really like being the anti armor guy on my team, so I've been using the rockets a lot before the Quasar. My friends thought I was going to be bringing Quasars to every match, because it'll also let me take a backpack. And to be fair, there is something to say about having an infinite ammo anti armor weapon, and an infinite ammo primary. But i still genuinely prefer the RR and even the Spear in some situations, over the Quasar. Primarily because it allows me to take 2 offensive strategems, a utility one such as emp mortar, or smoke screen, and my anti armor weapon.

  • I honestly started running EATs as my only support weapon. It's very clumsy to drop them, swap with your other support, fire both, and try to get your original support weapon back hopefully before you're overwhelmed. Running them solo allows me to always have one on my back for emergencies and call 2 more in. As long as you call them in almost off cooldown there will always be multiple ready to go. Plus you get that strategem slot back for shields or something.

  • I am also a rocket enthusiast and I always bring recoilless and EATs together, I would prioritize using EATs over the recoilless to conserve ammo, but always have the recoilless there as a backup for whiffed shots. It also takes the stress out of bile titan killing, as I would call in EATS, Fire one recoilless, reload recoilless(While waiting for EATs to land) and use EATs to finish off Bile, If you land clean shots you can drop two bile titans, Pair with autocannon and Gatlin sentry and solo bug breaches. Stun grenades are a must as you can stun chargers and bile titans to stop them from destroying your turrents, and you can stun them long enough to reload your recoilless. Unfortunately, I am a PC player and the spear lock-on is still buggy, and landing clean headshots doesn't always one shot biles :( Otherwise, I would just run the spear and EATS into bugs.

  • If it takes about one second to aim than: About 7 seconds to fire two shots with recoiless About 4 seconds to fire two shots with the EATs if you have some ready to swap nearby About 16 seconds to fire two shots with the Quasar That's a HUGE difference when you need to take down something *now*

    • My modification to this would be "able to oneshot" I wouldn't like it if I didn't have to put in a little tongue to oneshot a BT from all ranges, but not being able to oneshot a dropship, no matterwhat (or 1::50 chance, i suppose), feels like a missile trap.

  • Countless times I've had absolutely clear line of sight, no vegetation or other obstacles in the way and the spear just would not lock. There is no way that's intended. You can be on highground on a planet with no bushes and trees and the spear just does nothing. I never have problems with ammo no matter if I run spear or recoilless so that's not an issue for me. I would swap between recoilless and spear if it actually worked. Till they fix it (if they ever do) I'll just swap between recoilless and quasar for some change of pace. The fact that Quasar can be run with shield back pack is what sets it above recoilless for me. Shield backpack just does so much against hunters and random aim punches from bot projectiles. I only started using the shield backpack since the Quasar got added and whenever I switch to that loadout from my usual recoilless the game just gets so much less hectic.

  • I've been the anti-tank since release and I've always used the recoilless, It is by far the best one, the Quasar I think is about the same level, but before that the recoilless was the king.

  • For me, the spear always has 1 shot most targets, I've gotten 1 shots on hulks, Titans, tanks and chargers, gun towers it struggles with, but its possible, I really like that it can lock bot fabricator and 1 shot those, I always struggle to hit dropships with it tho, and in my experience, ranhe isnt the issue with the lock on, smoke can even disrupt it, I've locked fabricators, chargers and hulks within 30 meters😂

  • EATs and recoiless is a good combo for missions that involves defending from alot of bot drops, u can take care of 3 drop ships alone. But u would need a vanguard to deal with bots that's already on ground that's pushing

  • Stun grenades no longer work on Bile Titans. There is also a new upgrade for the Super Destroyer that causes a single resupply pack to fully replenish the ammo of your support weapon.

  • I've always loved rocket launchers as well. The spool up time of the Quasar kills it for me. Too many times I have been charging up to fire and my Diver flinches due to blaster fire and miss my target.

  • Or they can balance the lock on and ammunition issue by giving you the option to select between top attack and direct fire. That way you avoid hitting the wrong spot like with the Bile Titans back armor. Let's be honest this thing is supposed to be emulating the Javelin anti tank system we have. It will let you do that so add it in here. The EAT-17 emulates the AT-4, and the GR-8 Recoilless Rifle emulates a Carl Gustav M3. Make the Spear the same way.

  • Your not wrong bout the spear. You need a clear line of sight to lock on. Has been tested. It's really good for hitting structures from really far away if you have sight

  • Looking forward to whenever the devs fix the spear because that weapon is SO JUICY when it works. I've been learning its quirks and have been getting better results out of it but its still an annoying experience to dive with it. Luckily the one target it never fails on is gunships.

    • No it only happens when your holding a nade since it for some reason no longer counts as part of your inventory. Not much extra benefit from a resupply but can be nice for the random nade pickups.

  • I'm finding that stuns pair really well with the quasar in particular, but literally any of these launchers feel way better with them. Recoiless is nearly unbearable if you don't team reload it. One shot and a fairly long reload that nails you in place just feels bad, even with the somewhat clunky animation canceling. That being said the Recoiless is amazing if two people run it and both team reload each other. The thing is meant to be crew reloaded honestly that is what Arrowhead was going for. Stun grenades do however give you much needed time to reload it solo. If I'm going to run a grenade that does nothing against fabs and bug holes I might as well use them to their max potential. They let you widen the distance between you and hordes of enemies, let you line up accurate shots and give you time to charge the quasar, line up targets for more accurate air strikes, and you can even stun yourself if you're getting totally mobbed by enemies and then just dive away while you pop a stim. The last one is just a straight up get out of jail free card if you don't get killed by some other enemy that is off-screen. The benefits just feel endless for a game that loves to throw huge hordes of enemies at you without letting up very often.

  • At 8:00 you can see the bug where stopping the reload will consume more ammo, look at his backpack. Dont interrupt your reload or youll loose rockets

  • Any Objective that requires a Hellbomb can not be destroyed with a Anti Tank weapon (Sadly), you MUST use ether the Orbital Precision Strike or the 500kg Bomb.

  • I have an assumption as for quasar cannon and being able to start firing while it still has heat that being the heat is just a visual and is affected by slower cooldown on hot planets/faster cool down on cold planets but the cooldown is still same 10 seconds

  • Side option also if you want to be the rocket man. you can go recoiless supply bag expendables then utility like auto cannon sentry or gun. i have found that people are more willing to pick up my rockets if i have a supply backpack and this lets you get like 3x the shots off quickly but also if you dont have your rocket backpack man around you can use the recoilless like an expendable and fire 3 shots rapid fire or you both can shoot 2 or 3 rockets quickly starting a fight. for instance if you have the recoilless and he has an expendable on him then you drop a second expendable you now get 4 shots and then your additional 5 plus another 12 from the supply bag i believe. so 21 shots or so rapid fire at enemies. and the auto cannon sentry can also help rid the battle field of any threats on top of that. Now say you both run simular loadouts you will have twice the rockets at 42 and 2 auto cannon sentries. LItterly ruins anything you can think of.

  • Would this work: Person A uses the Recoiless Rifle, while Person B wears the ammo pack, but then Person A 'ALSO' uses the Supply Backpack to resupply Person B's ammo pack? Or is the hassle just not worth it?

  • You pointed out that 1 rocket + 1 shot from the scorcher will take out a bot cannon turret. I wanted to point out that the slugger works too (1 rocket + 1 slugger round). The dominator *might* work too, but I haven't tested it

  • 14:37 Bile Titan do not lose armor like chargers do, they never have exposed flesh, it's only visual, especially when they die but in practice they are always armored.

    • I don't know, I've noticed when their flesh is exposed you can kill them with impact nade, nade launcher, or autocannon. But honestly I gotta test more

    • @@thiccfila A good way to know is if you get: -red hit cursor(full damage) -grey hit cursor(some damage, reduced by armor) -grey hit cursor with shield icon(too armored, bounced) If you shoot a charger with a slugger for example, you're going to bounce but if you explode some armor on the leg or side, you're going to get a red hit marker. I've never managed to not bounce on a bile titan with light and medium penetrating weapons.

    • theres also a bug that shows armor but its actually piercing, i cant remember specifically but i belive some guns with a hulk visor do that but they actually pierce.

  • Recoiless rifles/guns are not rocket launchers. Theyre basically man portable canons, more like a tank gun than an rpg. The back blast is just venting some of the powder charge backwards so that the recoil doesnt kick you off your feet, hence the "recoiless" rifle/gun.

  • Have any of you noticed how bushes and some plants are bulletproof? I can't count the number of times this ruined my dives. If you are prone, for whatever reason, and try to fire trough a bush, bullets will not go trough at all. I say this because of the mention of the spear lock on. Vegetation needs a nerf asap.😅

  • Tbh I think the recoilless rifle needs a buff. It should hit harder than the other options to make up for its downsides.

    • They did that to chargers and bile titans. I was talking about fabricators. I might have taken a clip but it happened a bunch of times in a row. Just go shoot one at a slight of angle with a rocket lol you'll see

  • qusar seems decent for bugs but auto canon is still king for bots. it deals with everything they have. quasar has to aim at dangerous enemies for to long to not risk getting one shot.

    • I think it'll depend on how oftwn it's used after the hype. With railgun, they could see 3 out of 4 loadouts had railgun. Quasar is good, but I see it being a replacement for AT builds only, not general builds.

    • If you have 1 grenade under max, click your grenade button (not quick throw). Then pick up a supply and it'll put you over max.

  • Recoilless is reload is SOO F*%!&IN BUGGED!! At 8:01, watch how you reload (consumes one) then cancel at step 2, and when you start again for step 3 it consumes ANOTHER one. With a limited supply of 5, this is outrageous, it makes recoilless F tier! And yes, I tested it, it is possible to cancel everytime and lose all your ammo... to the point where you cannot reload anymore. And if you do finish, you only get one shot.

    • That's the one bug I'm annoyed at. More specifically, it's if you cancel at the second or third "animation step" (when the rocket is loaded in, and when you clip the back on). So, when the ammo is consumed in the middle of the second animation step, canceling any point after is gonna eat extra rockets. So, technically, you can cancel up to when you take the used cartridge out and not consume extra ammo. so that's what I've been doing, taking it out, meleeing to quick cancel, running back a bit so I can finish it.. but once the ticks down, I'm fuckin sending it even if there's a charger about to one tap me.

  • If there is any takeaway from this video, it's the sidegrade part. This would keep all of the game relevant and nip a lot of the "meta loadout only" in the but. You could play whatever you like and not feel "bad" for it!!
