    • Mildly warm isn't what I saw. Nearly the opposite, Ostapenko's most typical way to acquiesce herself to the unavoidable meeting at the net, simply looking as blasé as condescending.

  • What I observed that Ostapenko was aggressive more than she should which cost her point everytime mostly in second and third set. If she became more calm probably she will not lose in future

  • I missed Kerbers crafty left handed unorthodox playing style. From her swing I can never tell how much speed she will generate on a shot, which is very exciting to watch IMO.

  • Seems like highlights are becoming increasingly full of DFs and quick errors lately. Feels like we’re missing some truly worthy shots just to show as many breaks as possible

    • Absolutely. I think they are probably AI generated, only showing BPs, SPs, MPs instead of great points. This match was fun, both had a lot of winners, very disappointing reel.

    • That's just reality. There are more (forced and unforced) errors than winners even at the pro level. Amateurs love watching highlights with winners but not errors. Then in a real match, they get unpleasantly surprised that their hard hit shots become errors, and they lose to the "pushers" who care more about consistency.

  • The trouble with Penko is that unless she is playing someone with a similar style she struggles to adapt. Her team need to focus on a plan b. As to Kerber, she seems rejuvenated and playing better and more relaxed.

  • Are you kidding me with those highlights? 2:24 to 3:18 we get to see 2 double faults, followed by an awful backhand error. What was the point of that? At least one of it was a set point. Whoever did Wozniacki Vekic highlights did a much better job.

Kerber figured her out and made her move around with tactical placement and finesse…Ostapenko was huffing and puffing and by the time she got to the ball, she was out of juice to power hit her way out of trouble.

  • You can't go from 2-1 in the 3rd to match point, c'mon. Jelena had 2 breaks in the 3rd and couldn't hold on. That court looks really slow which makes for better rallies, but takes the sting out of the strokes.
