Aston Martin Formula 1 team invited me to the release of the new 2024 F1 car to show you guys a behind the scenes, top secret look of this years car. I also tested my mechanical ability on an old F1 car. Let's just say you might see me in F1 fairly soon...

  • How fantastic is Aston Martin? What a nice down to earth bunch of people. We saw how good their dealership was during Mats build of his Aston, they helped and supported him where many snobby Italian car makers would have shown him the door. Aston Martin just seem like really fanatical about cars and wanting them to be enjoyed. Great culture AMR, well done, you have a fan for life here.

  • Hi Mat , interesting isn't it , I started out inF1 with no qualifications as they say it's who you know not necessarily what you know ,started out with Arrows which became Footwork Arrows then moved to Eddy Jordan and finished up working For Ferrari in Marinello , I was a laminator mainly working on suspension, Only really went to Italy to see its art work , bought some memories back seeing you there . All the best ,from the old petrol head in Cornwall

    • Yea, then shortly after they show the whole car anyway. I'm thinking this was a Valvoline sponsorship reveal and the "top secret" BS was about the sponsorship decals on the car. Notice another "secret" was they use Valvoline oil in the F1.

  • Love F1 stuff, the technology they use is pretty cool - a fun fact, maybe well known fact, but a lot of tech in modern road cars comes from racing cars eg CVT, DOHC, paddle shifter. You name it, it probably was in a race car beforehand.

  • Great video and congrats being able to work on an F1 car. It sure looks easy on TV how they change tires and only now one can appreciate the precision needed to do that in less than 2s. Crazy how today‘s F1 cars are so silent. Back in 2002 in Monza on the grandstand is was literally impossible to not wear earplugs as soon as you had line of sight to the rear of the car. Insane experience.
