I'm gonna be the only prop who can dropkick now
Love to see it! 🔥
Best rugby channel by far
Thank you so much 🙌🙏
For kick-offs I rarely move to kick, I just swing my leg and it usually works out. On drop kicks/goals though I hold the ball with 1 hand and off to the side and as low to the ground as I can get it (I was a football kicker before playing rugby and it’s the closest I can get to that style, it works pretty well too but its main problem is that if it’s not perfect it will effect the power)
Awesome 👊
Excellent video yet again. Very instructive and suitable for all ages. Also love the cooking slot at the end which had the perfect balance of instruction and pace.
Thank you so much! Took your feedback on board for this cooking segment

Thank you 🙏
Nice tip really helps my form
Happy to help
How many seconds does the ball have to bounce and kick to kick a drop kick high or far? And how far should my stepping foot go when I bounce the ball?
Great Question! This is how I approach it for height and distance; kzhead.infoNg9-JUYnWno?feature=share
@@luketreharneTi7s Thank you!
@@Unlils No Problem 😃
Great video but what is the strike point on the ball and your foot. I guess its the bottom half of the ball and I think u said the knuckle of your big toe? I've been kicking the ball wrong for about 30 years now, though I did once kick a convert in a 2nd division game from.right in front, a real highlight
Yes I kick with the knuckle of my big toe and aim for the lower quarter of the ball. But it's also what ever works for you as long as it's accurate and consistent!
@Luke Treharne well I've only ever been consistently inaccurate
@@canadiancontent352 Better get practicing then!
@@luketreharneTi7s what do you mean by the knuckle? Are you talking about all your toes or just your big toe? FYI I tried this at touch yesterday in my flip flops and was getting nicely under the ball for the 1st time. That’s all I play know but I’d like to know how for coaching
@@canadiancontent352 Hey 😃 just the knuckle of the big toe is that I aim for.
I tried everything with drop kicking and the only thing that happens is the ball goes 4 meters in front of me lol😂
It’s the hardest skill to learn in rugby. Takes a lot of practice. I would try and work on the drop without kicking the ball firstly. If you can nail a consistent drop then it’s just about the timing on the strike.
I’ve nailed the drop i just have to work on the follow through cos I keep toe poking it I can’t get the perfect strike on the ball. I just gotta practice everyday I guess.
